Description
遠距離曲率に係る値95.2mm及び付加倍率1.50Dの市販されているプログレッシブレンズ(商標名Varilux COMFORT(R))の凸状のプログレッシブ面を、座標測定機を用いて測定しそのサグ値を得た。これらサグ値は、94.5mmの遠距離曲率に係る値と0.63Dの付加倍率を得るように変倍された。円筒形の平均倍率の等高線プロットは、図1a及び図1bに示される。表1に示されるように、回廊長(corridor length)は12.26mmであり、最大の不要な非点収差は0.63Dであった。付加倍率に対する非点収差の比は1.00であった。
遠距離曲率に係る値103.3mm及び付加倍率1.50Dの市販されているプログレッシブレンズ(商標名DEFINITY(R))の凸状及び凹状面は、そのサグ値を得るために座標測定機を用いて測定された。これらサグ値は、遠距離曲率に係る値105.4mm及び付加倍率0.63Dを得るように変倍された。円筒形の平均倍率の等高線プロットは、図2a及び図2bに示されている。表1に示されるように、回廊長は13.09mmであり、最大の不要な非点収差は0.42Dであった。付加倍率に対する非点収差の比は、0.67であった。
凸状プログレッシブ面は、屈折率1.498の材料を用いてデザインされた。このレンズの基本曲線は、105.9mmであり、付加倍率は0.63ジオプタであった。2段変化は、第1の円環状変化関数及び定重み関数を用い、その後に式(I)、(II)及び(III)を用いて以下に挙げる定数による第2のトーリック(toric)変化関数及び重み関数を用いて行われた。

凸状のプログレッシブ面(累進面)は、屈折率1.498の材料を用いてデザインされた。このレンズの基本曲線は、105.9mmであり、付加倍率は0.63ジオプタであった。以下に挙げる定数によるトーリック変化関数のA及び定重み関数は、式(I)、(II)及び(III)を用いて非円錐非球面を作るために用いられた。

Claims (6)
- レンズをデザインするための方法であって、
a.)基本球面Ps(x,y)を用いてプログレッシブ付加面P(x,y)である第1の面をデザインするステップと、
b.)複数のサグ値P0(x,y)として前記第1の面P(x,y)を表すステップと、
c.)次式
のうちの1つ又は複数に応じた変化関数とし、
前記Wを、次式
に応じた重み関数とし、第2の面N(x,y)を規定するよう前記複数のサグ値P0(x,y)の1つ又は複数を局部的に変化させるステップと、
d.)付加倍率を有し当該非円錐面の付加倍率の約50%ないし60%の最大の不要な非点収差を有する当該レンズの非円錐非球面を得るように前記基本球面Ps(x,y)に前記第2の面N(x,y)を付加するステップと、
を有する方法。 - 前記レンズが眼鏡レンズである請求項1に記載の方法。
- さらに、e.)前記非円錐非球面を平滑化するステップを有する請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記非円錐非球面が凸状面である請求項1ないし3のうちいずれか1つに記載の方法。
- レンズ着用者の乱視及びプリズム作用の1つ又は複数について補正をなす凹状面をさらに有する請求項1ないし4のうちいずれか1つに記載の方法。
- 前記凸状面は、10ないし22mmのチャネル長をさらに有する請求項5に記載の方法。
