Abstract
【解決手段】表示手段1と、この表示手段1に所定の表示情報を表示させると共に所定の表示更新周期(タイミング)にて前記表示情報を更新する制御手段3と、表示手段1を照明する照明手段2と、この照明手段2の明るさを変更する調光手段4とを備えた表示装置において、制御手段3は調光手段4からの入力情報に基づいて照明手段2の明るさを選定し、前記表示情報を更新する表示更新周期に合わせて照明手段2の明るさを変更してなる。

Description
この表示装置は、液晶パネルからなる表示手段と、この表示手段に所定の表示情報を表示させると共に表示情報を所定のタイミングにて更新するマイクロコンピュータからなる制御手段と、表示手段を照明するバックライトからなる照明手段と、この照明手段の明るさを変更する調光手段とを備えており、制御手段は、調光手段からの入力情報に基づいて照明手段の明るさを変更してなるものである。
図2において、横軸は時間経過であり、時刻t1,t2,t3・・・は、制御手段3によって制御される前記表示情報の表示更新周期を示し、制御手段3は、前記入力信号を受信して演算処理し、時刻t1,t2,t3・・・の表示更新周期にて、表示手段1に表示される前記表示情報(表示内容)を更新すると共に前記調光信号を受信して演算処理してそのときの調光レベルを判定し、時刻t1,t2,t3・・・の表示更新周期に合わせて照明手段2の明るさを調整する。なお表示更新周期の一周期は例えば100msに設定されている。

Claims (2)
- 表示手段と、
この表示手段に所定の表示情報を表示させると共に所定のタイミングにて前記表示情報を更新する制御手段と、
前記表示手段またはその周囲に配置される他の表示手段を照明する照明手段と、
この照明手段の明るさを変更する調光手段とを備えた表示装置において、
前記制御手段は前記調光手段からの入力情報に基づいて前記照明手段の明るさを選定し、前記表示情報を更新する前記タイミングに合わせて前記照明手段の明るさを変更してなることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記制御手段は、前記調光手段による調光レベルを決定する第1の処理と、この第1の処理によって決定した前記調光レベルに基づいて前記照明手段の明るさを制御するための出力を前記第1の処理から所定時間経過後の前記タイミングに一致させる第2の処理を実行することを特徴とする請求項1記載の表示装置。
