Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a starting clutch that is interposed between a vehicle engine and an automatic transmission and includes a piston, a clutch, and a damper.
Generally, a fluid transmission device such as a torque converter and a fluid coupling is used as a vehicle starting device. In an internal combustion engine or the like in which the drive source continues to rotate even when the vehicle is in a stopped state, the fluid transmission device is caused to slip between the automatic transmission input shaft and the engine output shaft due to fluid slippage of the fluid transmission device. The relative rotation of the drive source is allowed and the rotation of the drive source is maintained. When the vehicle is started, the engine power can be transmitted to the automatic transmission input shaft by smoothly starting by sliding of the fluid of the fluid transmission device.
A fluid power transmission device such as a torque converter has a good start function by automatically performing the above-mentioned start by relative rotation and slip, but conversely, the structure is complicated, resulting in a large-scale device, and a compact vehicle It is an obstacle to making it lighter and lighter. In addition, since power is transmitted via fluid, power loss occurs, and a lock-up clutch is provided to prevent this, but the structure is further complicated. Moreover, the provision of the lock-up clutch does not eliminate the power loss due to the fluid.
In recent years, with the increase in the number of automatic transmissions and the appearance of a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the demand for an increase in the torque ratio by a torque converter and the like and the impact mitigating action by the fluid at the time of a shift has been reduced. A starting clutch that does not use a fluid has been proposed based on a demand for a compact automatic transmission.
As such a starting clutch, for example, a “starting clutch” according to Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2001-3955 includes a multi-plate clutch, a damper device, and a one-way clutch housed in a housing connected to a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. And a multi-plate clutch is connected by a pressing spring when the vehicle is stopped, and a predetermined creep force is generated. At the start of the vehicle, the multi-plate clutch is engaged by pressing the piston based on the hydraulic pressure supply to the hydraulic chamber, and the damper device The engine driving force is transmitted to the input shaft by absorbing the shock through the vehicle, and the vehicle is prevented from retreating when the hill starts.
By the way, the conventional starting clutch has a structure in which the clutch portion and the damper are arranged in the axial direction in order to reduce the inertia. The outer shell of the starting clutch is filled with lubricating oil for cooling the clutch and for lubricating the damper, and the lubricating oil circulates. The torque transmitted from the engine is output to the transmission via the clutch → damper, but the engine and the transmission are connected or disconnected by the engagement / release of the clutch.
FIG. 3 is a specific example showing a conventional starting clutch. In the figure, (a) represents a clutch portion, (b) represents a damper, (c) represents a piston, and (d) represents an outer shell. A connecting plate (f) is attached to the tip of the crankshaft (e) of the engine, and a connecting plate (h) welded to the front part (g) of the outer shell (d) is connected to the connecting plate (f). ing. Accordingly, the outer shell (d) can rotate together with the crankshaft (e). Here, the starting clutch is provided with a center piece (re) at the center of the front portion (g) and fitted in the tip hole of the crankshaft (e), and the sleeve (nu) extending rearward is supported by the bearing. .
Inside the outer shell (d), the clutch part (b), the damper (b), and the piston (c) are built, and an oil chamber filled with lubricating oil is formed. Lubricating oil is supplied from the inlet hole (e) provided in the hub (le) to which the damper (b) is attached, flows along the arrow, and prevents the clutch part (b) from being seized by frictional heat. I can do it. The lubricating oil that has flowed through the clutch portion (b) passes around the damper (b) and flows out from the outer shell (d) toward the sleeve (n).
The rotational torque of the engine rotates the front part (g) and the outer shell (d), but when the clutch part (b) is not engaged, the output shaft (wa) fitted to the hub (le) Does not rotate. However, if the piston (c) moves and presses the clutch part (b), the plates (f), (f) ... that rotate with the outer shell (d) are discs (yo), (yo) ... Rotates by engaging with and is transmitted from the holder (t) to the damper (b). The shock torque generated when the clutch portion (a) is operated is absorbed by the damper spring of the damper (b) being compressed and deformed, and can be transmitted to the output shaft (wa) as a smooth torque.
In addition, when the clutch part (a) is in the engaged state, engine torque fluctuations are also absorbed by the deformation of the damper spring. However, in the case of the starting clutch as shown in FIG. The torque is transmitted to the output shaft (wa). Therefore, the inertia between the damper (b) and the output shaft (wa) becomes small, and there is a possibility that the engine torque fluctuation cannot be absorbed sufficiently.
The outer shell of the starting clutch is filled with lubricating oil, so that the outer shell is strong enough to withstand the centrifugal hydraulic pressure associated with high-speed rotation, and the outer shell is strong enough to support the centrifugal force of the clutch (a). Thick plates are used. A spline tooth profile is provided in which the outer periphery of the plate (f), (f)... And the outer periphery of the piston (c) that constitute the clutch part (a) are engaged. It is not easy to process the spline tooth profile around the circumference, and it is necessary to increase the thickness of the outer shell (d) in order to form such a spline tooth profile.
As described above, the conventional starting clutch has the above-described problems. The problems to be solved by the present invention are these problems, and provide a starting clutch in which the inertia between the damper and the output shaft is increased to absorb engine torque fluctuation, and the outer shell shape and the center piece shape are simplified. To do.
The starting clutch according to the present invention has a structure having the following features in order to solve the above problems.
(1) The clutch part and the damper are arranged in parallel in the axial direction so that the torque transmission path from the engine is front part (outer shell) → damper → clutch part → output shaft. Therefore, the clutch portion is separated from the outer shell (front portion), the clutch drum is attached to the hub to which the output shaft is fitted, and the piston and the clutch portion having the hydraulic chamber are attached to the clutch drum.
(2) An oil passage is provided at the center of the output shaft, and a spacer is fitted in the central recess of the hub to which the clutch drum is attached, and flows through the communication hole of the hub from the communication hole provided in the spacer. The hydraulic oil can be supplied to the hydraulic chamber that operates the piston. Then, the tip of the output shaft is fitted and supported in the center hole of the spacer. In the present invention, the spacer is separated from the center piece and provided at the center on the inner side of the front portion, rotates together with the hub and the output shaft, and can be rotated relative to the front portion.
Here, the spacer also functions as a seal for the oil passage and a thrust bearing, and the spacer is made of a material (for example, resin, copper, aluminum, etc.) that can slide with the front portion made of iron.
(3) The clutch part may be arranged on the front side or the rear side, and any of them may be used. The specific structure of the clutch part is not particularly limited, and the specific structure of the damper is not limited. I will not limit it. The clutch portion and the piston are attached to the clutch drum attached to the hub, and the input side member of the clutch portion forms the output side member of the damper.
(1) By making the torque transmission path from the engine the front part (outer shell) → damper → clutch part → output shaft, the inertia after the damper becomes large and the engine torque fluctuation can be absorbed, Resonance with engine vibration can be reduced.
Then, the clutch part is separated from the outer shell (front part), the clutch drum is attached to the hub to which the output shaft is fitted, and the piston and the clutch part are attached to the clutch drum, so that the centrifugal part acting on the clutch part and the piston is applied. Thinning is possible because the force does not act on the outer shell. Further, it is easier to process a spline tooth profile in which the plates constituting the clutch portion mesh with each other into a clutch drum, and it is possible to reduce the thickness by not providing the spline tooth profile on the inner periphery of the outer shell.
(2) Since the damper is provided on the input side and the output side is a clutch portion, it is not necessary to rivet the hub to which the output shaft is fitted. That is, it is pivotally supported by the hub or sleeve.
(3) The center piece is fixed at the front center of the front part, and an oil passage can be formed as a structure in which a spacer separated from the center piece is arranged at the center inside the front part. The shape can be used for various starting clutches. The spacer also functions as a thrust washer and does not rotate relative to the hub and the output shaft, and slips between the front part, but wear is suppressed by using resin or aluminum as the material. The
FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a starting clutch according to the present invention, and shows a cross section thereof. In the figure, 1 is a clutch portion, 2 is a damper, 3 is a piston, 4 is an outer shell, and 5 is a clutch drum. A connecting
The outer shell 4 contains the clutch portion 1, the damper 2, and the piston 3 and is an oil chamber filled with lubricating oil. By the way, the rotational torque of the crankshaft 6 of the engine rotates the outer shell 4 via the connecting
The clutch section 1 is composed of a plurality of
One of the
By the way, the piston 3 is attached to the outer periphery of the
The
When the clutch 1 is not in operation, the
Here, the damper 2 attached to the input side of the starting clutch has a
In the present invention, the specific structure of the damper 2 is not limited. If the accelerator of the car is stepped on, the hydraulic oil flows from the
FIG. 2 shows another embodiment of the starting clutch of the present invention. In this embodiment, contrary to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the damper 2 is disposed on the front portion side, and the clutch portion 1 is attached on the rear side. However, the torque transmission path is the same, and the rotational torque from the crankshaft 6 of the engine is transmitted from the front portion 8 to the damper 2 → the clutch portion 1, and from the
By the way, when the positions of the damper 2 and the clutch portion 1 are changed, the shape of the
When the hydraulic oil is sent to the
As is clear from the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a
The
The
