Abstract
【解決手段】一対の分極性電極と、溶融塩からなる電解質界面とで形成される熱起動型溶融塩キャパシタであって、前記キャパシタへ電気エネルギーを蓄積させた状態で前記溶融塩を固化させたことを特徴とする前記キャパシタを提供する。

Description
本発明による熱起動型溶融塩キャパシタの詳細について、以下に説明する。本発明による熱起動型溶融塩キャパシタは、再起動させる場合の熱源については特に制限されず、工場廃熱等の供給変動の少ないものも利用できるが、好ましくは、太陽熱等の供給熱量が周期的に変化するもの、あるいは熱電池に用いられる熱ペレット(鉄粉と過塩素酸カリウムの混合物)のように使い捨ての熱源を用いるのが良い。
分極性電極としては、粉末状の通常の活性炭を適当なバインダと混合し、プレス成型または圧延ロールによって成型したものや、フェノール系、レーヨン系、ピッチ系等の活性炭素繊維からなるフェルトやペーパー、多孔質の金属(例えばラネー金属)、希土類酸化物や、導電性基板上にカーボンを蒸着や溶融塩めっきによりコーティングしたものなどが使用でき、表面積が大きい活性炭や、溶融塩を充填した状態で得られる溶融塩めっきカーボンを使用するのが好ましい。ただし、使用する溶融塩と化学的な反応を起こしたり、充放電時に溶出したり、溶融塩の熱により劣化するような材料は使用できない。
2枚の分極性電極が接触し短絡するのを防ぐために、絶縁性のセパレータを分極性電極間に挟み込む等により、両分極性電極を所定の間隔を隔てて対向させる。
本発明の高温作動型キャパシタで電解質として使用する溶融塩としては通常、アルカリ金属ハロゲン化物、アルカリ土類金属ハロゲン化物、アルカリ金属炭酸塩、アルカリ土類金属炭酸塩、アルカリ金属硫酸塩、アルカリ土類金属硫酸塩、アルカリ金属硝酸塩、アルカリ土類金属硝酸塩などが使用されるが、特にアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物、アルカリ土類金属ハロゲン化物が好ましい。

F−,Cl−,Br−,I−,BF4 −,Pf6 −,(CF3SO2)2N−すなわちビス(トリフルオロメチルスルホニル)イミド(TFSI),ペルフルオロまでフッ素で置換されることができる脂肪族、脂環族もしくは芳香族スルホネート、ペルフルオロまでフッ素で置換されることができる脂肪族、脂環族もしくは芳香族カルボキシレートなど。
るが、開回路電位測定の途中で、一旦カーボン電極11を浴から引き上げ、付着した電解質塩10が固化したことを確認した後に、再度浴10中に挿入するという操作を行っている。

Claims (15)
- 一対の分極性電極と、溶融塩からなる電解質界面とで形成される熱起動型溶融塩キャパシタであって、
前記キャパシタへ電気エネルギーを蓄積させた状態で前記溶融塩を固化させたことを特徴とする前記キャパシタ。 - 一対の分極性電極と、溶融塩からなる電解質界面とで形成される熱起動型溶融塩キャパシタであって、
前記溶融塩は前記キャパシタへ電気エネルギーを蓄積させた状態で固化されており、かつ、前記溶融塩を再溶融させることにより蓄積された電気エネルギーを取り出すことが可能な前記キャパシタ。 - 前記キャパシタは、分極性電極間の短絡を防止するためのセパレータを含むことを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、アルカリ金属ハロゲン化物、アルカリ土類金属ハロゲン化物、アルカリ金属炭酸塩、アルカリ土類金属炭酸塩、アルカリ金属硫酸塩、アルカリ土類金属硫酸塩、アルカリ金属硝酸塩、アルカリ土類金属硝酸塩から選ばれた1または2以上の化合物を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記アルカリ金属ハロゲン化物は、LiF、NaF、KF、RbF、CsF、LiCl、NaCl、KCl、RbCl、CsCl、LiBr、NaBr、KBr、RbBr、CsBr、LiI、NaI、KI、RbI、CsIから選ばれた1または2以上の化合物であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、LiCl:KCl=35mol%〜100mol%:65mol%〜0mol%組成比のアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、LiCl:KCl=55mol%〜65mol%:45mol%〜35mol%組成比のアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、LiCl:KCl:CsCl=55mol%〜65mol%:10mol%〜15mol%:20mol%〜30mol%組成比のアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、LiBr:KBr=35mol%〜100mol%:65mol%〜0mol%組成比のアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、LiBr:KBr=60mol%〜70mol%:40mol%〜30mol%組成比のアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、LiBr:KBr:CsBr=50mol%〜60mol%:15mol%〜20mol%:20mol%〜30mol%組成比のアルカリ金属ハロゲン化物を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項9に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記アルカリ土類金属ハロゲン化物は、MgF2、CaF2、SrF2、BaF2、MgCl2、CaCl2、SrCl2、BaCl2、MgBr2、CaBr2、SrBr2、BaBr2、MgI2、CaI2、SrI2、BaI2から選ばれた1または2以上の化合物であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記溶融塩は、融点が40℃以上の窒素のオニウム塩であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記窒素のオニウム塩のカチオンは、テトラアルキルアンモニウム、イミダゾリウム、ピペリジニウム、ピロリジニウム又はピリジニウムカチオンである請求項13に記載のキャパシタ。
- 前記窒素のオニウム塩のアニオンはハライドアニオン、BF4 −,PF6 −,(CF3SO2)2N−,ペルフルオロまでフッ素で置換されることができる脂肪族、脂環族もしくは芳香族スルホネートアニオン、またはペルフルオロまでフッ素で置換されることができる脂肪族、脂環族もしくは芳香族カルボキシレートアニオンである請求項13または14に記載のキャパシタ。
