Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an X-ray tube for irradiating X-rays, and particularly to an X-ray tube having a structure suitable for irradiating X-rays over a wide range.
Incidentally, as described above, an X-ray tube having a structure in which a planar electron source is held in a housing can easily increase the area of the X-ray irradiation range because the electron source can be easily increased in area. On the other hand, in the case of a cold cathode electron source using a carbon-based electron emission material, because it is a field emission type electron source that draws electrons from the electron source by an electric field formed between the electron source and the extraction electrode, The positional relationship between the electron source and the extraction electrode greatly affects the electron emission characteristics from the electron source. That is, the arrangement of the electron source in the housing is one of the important elements for the X-ray irradiation characteristics. However, in the conventional X-ray tube, when the electron source is enlarged in order to increase the irradiation range, it is difficult to accurately arrange the electron source in the housing. As a result, it becomes difficult to stabilize the X-ray irradiation characteristics.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of such problems, and an object thereof is to provide an X-ray tube that realizes stable X-ray irradiation even when the X-ray irradiation range is expanded.
In order to solve the above-described problems, an X-ray tube of the present invention includes a vacuum envelope including an insulating member at least in part, and a carbon-based electron emitting material on the surface of a conductive member provided along the inner surface of the insulating member. Are arranged opposite to the electron source in the vacuum envelope and generate X-rays in response to the incidence of electrons from the electron source, and attached to the vacuum envelope. An X-ray extraction window for extracting X-rays generated from the outside and an extraction electrode fixed in the vacuum envelope.
According to such an X-ray tube, the conductive member constituting the electron source is provided along the inner surface of the insulating member of the vacuum envelope having a sufficient strength to hold the vacuum, whereby the vacuum envelope is provided. The lead electrode is fixed in the vacuum envelope while being positioned in the container. In such a configuration, X-rays are generated when electrons emitted from the carbon-based electron emission material on the surface of the insulating member enter the target, and the X-rays are extracted to the outside through the X-ray extraction window. Therefore, even when the area of the electron source is increased, the electron source can be arranged with high accuracy, and stable X-ray irradiation characteristics can be obtained over a wide range.
It is preferable that at least a part of the extraction electrode is disposed on the inner surface of the insulating member in the vacuum envelope. If such an extraction electrode is provided, the position of the extraction electrode can be stabilized when the X-ray tube is used, and more stable X-ray irradiation characteristics can be obtained.
The conductive member is preferably a mesh member. In this case, the electron source can be easily arranged over a wide range on the inner surface of the insulating member.
The conductive member is also preferably a planar member. With this configuration, electrons are uniformly emitted from the electron source, so that X-ray irradiation can be made uniform even if the apparatus is enlarged.
Moreover, it is also preferable that a groove is formed on the inner surface of the insulating member, the conductive member is provided in the groove, and the extraction electrode is laid along the inner surface sandwiching the groove of the insulating member. If it carries out like this, the positioning with respect to an extraction electrode will be made easy over the whole electrically-conductive member which comprises an electron source, and the electron emission from an electron source will be made more uniform.
Furthermore, it is preferable that the extraction electrode is divided into a plurality along the longitudinal direction of the conductive member. With such an extraction electrode, the electron extraction amount can be controlled for each divided region along the longitudinal direction of the conductive member, and an arbitrary X-ray irradiation characteristic can be obtained for each divided region along the longitudinal direction of the conductive member. Obtainable.
Furthermore, it is also preferable that the extraction electrode is arranged so that the central axis side perpendicular to the inner surface of the target is lowered. With such a configuration, electrons can be efficiently incident on the target.
Furthermore, it is also preferable that the insulating member is provided with an opening so as to face the target, and the X-ray extraction window is provided so as to cover the opening. In this case, when a so-called reflective target that extracts X-rays in a direction different from the incident direction of electrons is used, X-rays can be irradiated over a wide area outside.
According to the X-ray tube of the present invention, stable X-ray irradiation can be realized even when the X-ray irradiation range is expanded.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of an X-ray tube according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the description of the drawings, the same or corresponding parts are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description is omitted. Each drawing is made for the purpose of explanation, and is drawn so as to particularly emphasize the target portion of the explanation.
[First Embodiment]
FIG. 1 is a plan view of an
As shown in these drawings, the
On the
Here, the carbon-based
Further, the
A mesh-
Specifically, the
The
The
Thus, by providing the
In the
Further, since the
Further, the
Further, the
[Second Embodiment]
FIG. 5 is a plan view of an

The

Also in the
Further, the
In addition, this invention is not limited to embodiment mentioned above. For example, as the electron source provided on the
Specifically, like the
The configuration of the
Further, when the extraction electrode is divided and provided, not only the applied voltage is set so that the electron emission amount in each divided region is uniform, but also the desired electron emission amount in the desired divided region. The voltage applied to each divided region of the extraction electrode may be changed.
Further, although the electron source is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the
