Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a switch and a power converter using the switch.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a mechanical electrical switch that generates an electrostatic force and uses a generated electrostatic force to bring a contact electrode into contact with a signal line is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view showing the structure of a conventional mechanical electric switch disclosed in
However, in the conventional configuration, when the switching of the on / off state of the switch is repeated, the elastic deformation (bending) of the
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a highly reliable switch and a power converter using the switch.
In order to achieve the above object, the switch according to the present invention is provided with a drive unit that expands or contracts from a state where no voltage is applied when a voltage is applied, and an extension direction of the drive unit, and interlocks with the drive unit. And a signal line provided at a position facing the contact electrode, and the drive unit is composed of a piezoelectric element, and the piezoelectric element is driven to drive between the contact electrode and the signal line. It is characterized by controlling the connection.
According to this invention, the connection between the contact electrode and the signal line can be performed not by elastic deformation (bending) of the drive unit but by expansion and contraction of the drive unit. Since the expansion and contraction of the drive unit is performed by displacement due to strain based on the spontaneous polarization of the piezoelectric element, it is possible to suppress deformation fatigue deterioration due to repeated on / off operations in the conventional drive unit. Therefore, the reliability of the switch can be improved.
Another switch according to the present invention is characterized in that the drive unit is driven by an AC voltage having a predetermined frequency. In this case, since the drive section repeatedly expands and contracts in accordance with the frequency of the applied AC voltage, high-speed switching (switch on / off operation) at a predetermined frequency is performed. For this reason, it is possible to more effectively enjoy the effect of suppressing fatigue deterioration associated with repeated ON / OFF operations in the conventional drive unit. Therefore, it is possible to improve the reliability of a switch that performs high-speed switching.
In the above configuration, the frequency of the AC voltage may be the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric element. In this case, the expansion / contraction amount of the piezoelectric element driven at the resonance frequency is the largest. For this reason, a gap (interval) between the contact electrode and the signal line in the off state can be further opened, and a switch having a high withstand voltage can be obtained.
Furthermore, a power converter according to the present invention includes the switch described above. Conventional power converters use semiconductor switches that are more reliable than mechanical electrical switches, but according to the present invention, power converters are configured using switches with improved reliability (mechanical electrical switches). Therefore, a highly reliable power converter is provided. In addition, the switch has a conduction resistance lower than that of the semiconductor switch, and heat generation due to conduction loss is reduced, so that the influence of heat on other electronic components mounted on the power converter is suppressed. As a result, it is possible to reduce the mounting interval of the electronic components including the switch, and the power converter can be downsized as compared with the conventional case.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, a highly reliable switch and a power converter using the same can be provided.
DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, embodiments of the invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In all the drawings, the same reference numerals are given to the same components, and the description will be omitted as appropriate.
FIG. 1 is a schematic top view showing a configuration of a mechanical electrical switch according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line A-A ′ of the mechanical electrical switch of FIG. 1.
The mechanical electrical switch includes a
The
The
The
One end of the
The
The
In the mechanical electric switch according to this embodiment, a gap (interval) is provided between the

(3) When the driving
(4) When the frequency of the AC voltage is the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric element, the expansion / contraction amount of the piezoelectric element (drive unit 5) driven at the resonance frequency is the largest. For this reason, since the gap (interval) between the
(5) Since the switching operation of the mechanical electrical switch is controlled by the expansion and contraction of the piezoelectric element, a high-speed switching operation is possible as compared with the conventional control by elastic deformation of the drive unit (drive arm).
(6) Since the upper and lower electrodes for generating the electrostatic force in the conventional configuration are not necessary, it is possible to realize a reduction in the area of the mechanical electrical switch as compared with the conventional case.
(7) Since this mechanical electrical switch has a lower conduction resistance than a conventional semiconductor switch, heat generation due to conduction loss can be reduced.
(Modification)
FIG. 3 is a schematic top view showing a configuration of a mechanical electrical switch according to a modification of the present embodiment, and FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along line BB ′ of the mechanical electrical switch of FIG. . The difference from the previous embodiment is that support bases 3a for installing the
According to the mechanical electrical switch of this modification, the following effects can be obtained.
(8) Since the load applied to one end of the fixing
In the above embodiment, an example in which a mechanical electric switch is used alone has been shown. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and can be applied to a switching element of a power converter such as a switching power supply or an inverter. In this case, since the power converter is configured using the switching element with improved reliability, a highly reliable power converter is provided. In addition, it is possible to use a switch element having a conduction resistance smaller than that of a semiconductor switch used in a conventional power converter, and heat generation due to conduction loss is reduced, so that a smaller power converter can be configured compared to the conventional one. it can. As an example of the effect of downsizing the power converter, for example, an AC adapter such as a notebook personal computer or a mobile phone can be built in the device.
