Description
The present invention relates to a fuel injection valve used in an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine. More specifically, the present invention relates to an injection valve that can perform a preferable fuel spray when an internal needle valve is in a low lift state.
An internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine or a direct fuel injection gasoline engine employs an injection hole valve that injects fuel into a cylinder. A general fuel injection valve includes a nozzle body having an injection hole and a needle valve that can move in the axial direction within the nozzle body. By moving the needle valve, the opening of the injection hole is adjusted to supply fuel. Let spray. The fuel injection valve is preferably one that can supply an optimal flow rate of fuel according to the state of the engine and that can be finely injected.
For example,
In general, the fuel injection pressure of the fuel injection valve is low when the needle valve is in the low lift position, so that the spray particles become coarse and it is often difficult to perform good combustion. Regarding the fuel injection valve disclosed in
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a fuel injection valve that can perform preferable fuel spray even in a low lift state.
The object is to provide a nozzle body provided with a nozzle hole at a tip portion formed in a substantially conical shape, and a needle valve provided with a seat portion that is movably disposed in the nozzle body and abuts against the seat surface of the nozzle body. A flow path larger than the seat part flow area on the downstream side of the seat part when the flow path area of the outer periphery of the seat part is in a low lift state smaller than the total cross-sectional area of the nozzle hole. This can be achieved by a fuel injection valve characterized in that the needle valve is formed so that there is an area.
According to the present invention, when in the low lift state, the flow passage area larger than the seat portion flow passage area exists on the downstream side of the seat portion, so that the flow rate of the fuel flowing downstream can be ensured. Therefore, good fuel spraying can be performed with an appropriate injection pressure. An internal combustion engine that employs such a fuel injection valve can improve fuel consumption and emissions.
And the said nozzle body is good also as a sac type fuel injection valve which has a sac part in the said front-end | tip part, and provided the said injection hole in this sack part. When the above configuration is adopted in this type of fuel injection valve, cavitation can be generated after passing through the seat portion, and bubbles can be included in the fuel. When the fuel containing bubbles is injected from the nozzle hole in this way, the bubbles burst when they come out, so that the atomization of the fuel can be promoted.
Further, the needle tip has an outer shape formed by a plurality of inclined surfaces defined by different taper angles, and a flow path area on the outer periphery of the boundary portion of the inclined surface is larger than a flow path area on the outer periphery of the seat portion. As such, the needle valve may be formed.
The needle valve is a valve-covered orifice type fuel injection valve that closes the nozzle hole by the needle valve when a seat portion of the needle valve abuts on a seat surface of the nozzle body, and the needle valve is the nozzle hole A bypass passage through which fuel flows downstream, and further, when the needle is in a low lift state, the first flow path and the downstream side through which the fuel flowing from the upstream side into the nozzle hole passes And a second flow path through which the fuel flowing into the nozzle hole passes between the nozzle body and the first flow path area of the first flow path and the second flow path It is desirable that the total sum with the second flow path area is set to be larger than the sheet portion flow path area.
A valve-covered orifice type fuel injection valve having the above configuration can supply a sufficient amount of fuel downstream. Therefore, the flow characteristics are improved, and preferable fuel spray can be performed from the nozzle hole.
The bypass passage includes a main passage formed in the center along the axial direction of the needle valve, and a fuel introduction passage connected to the main passage in a plurality of radial directions, and the fuel introduction passage serves as the main passage. It is desirable to adopt an eccentric structure. By adopting such an eccentric structure, it is possible to avoid the interference of fuel flowing into the main passage and to flow more fuel.
Moreover, it is preferable that the needle valve further includes an entire circumferential groove provided so as to include an opening on the inlet side of the fuel introduction passage. If the circumferential groove is provided in this manner, the fuel can be uniformly and smoothly guided to the fuel introduction passage.
Further, it is more preferable that the needle valve has a structure including a recess at a position facing the nozzle hole when in the low lift state. When the recess is provided in this way, it is possible to sufficiently secure the fuel flowing into the nozzle hole.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the fuel injection valve which can perform a preferable fuel spray also at the time of a low lift state can be provided. An internal combustion engine employing this fuel injection valve can improve fuel consumption and emissions.
Hereinafter, a fuel injection valve according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The fuel injection valve described below includes a needle valve formed so as to secure a predetermined flow path area on the downstream side of the seat portion when in the low lift state. When the needle valve having such a structure is provided, good fuel spray can be obtained even in a low lift state. By the way, the fuel injection valve includes a sac type fuel injection valve called a sac type or mini-sac type in which an injection hole is provided in a sack portion protruding from the tip of the nozzle body, and a needle valve. There is known a VCO (Valve Covered Orifice) type fuel injection valve which is formed so that the nozzle hole of the nozzle body is closed by the outer peripheral surface of the needle valve when it is in the lower limit position. Hereinafter, embodiments of the sac type fuel injection valve and the VCO type fuel injection valve will be described in order.
The first embodiment shows a mini-sack type
The front end portion (lower side in FIG. 1) of the
The
On the other hand, the tip of the
The tip of the
1 A of fuel injection valves are provided with the needle valve moving mechanism which is not shown in figure, a needle valve is moved to the axial direction AX, and can change the moving amount (lift amount). The position of the
FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of a part of the right side of the
In the
FIG. 2 shows the low lift state, and the seat portion 20ST of the
Then, in the low lift state shown in FIG. 2, the
The shape of the
FIG. 3 is a diagram collectively showing the relationship between the flow path areas S1 to S3 described above. When the seat portion channel area S1 is in a low lift state smaller than the nozzle hole total channel area S2, the downstream throttle channel area S3 is larger than the sheet portion channel area S1. Further, preferably, the outer shape of the
The
Next, an embodiment when the present invention is applied to a VCO type fuel injection valve will be described. Generally, when a VCO type fuel injection valve is in a low lift state, there is only an extremely narrow fuel flow path upstream of the injection hole. For this reason, the flow rate of the fuel supplied to the nozzle hole is insufficient, so that the spray becomes rough, resulting in deterioration of fuel consumption and emission. This point is addressed by the fuel injection valve of Example 2 shown below.
The
4A and 4B are diagrams illustrating the
The
FIG. 4B shows a state when the
On the other hand, as shown in the right side of FIG. 4B, the
Further, the
Further, as a more preferred form, the entire
When the
As described above, the
(Improvement example 1)
7 and 8 are views for explaining an improvement example of the
As shown in FIG. 7, when the
(Improvement example 2)
FIGS. 9 and 10 are diagrams for explaining another improvement example regarding the
FIG. 10 is a diagram showing another improvement example in which sufficient fuel FE can be introduced into the
According to the fuel injection valve of the embodiment described above, the atomized fuel can be sprayed from the nozzle hole. Therefore, an internal combustion engine such as a diesel engine to which such a fuel injection valve is applied can improve fuel consumption and emissions.
