ここで、前記第1の検出手段26における第1のバンドパスフィルタ27が故障した場合について説明する。このような場合には、前記第1の検出手段26における第1のバンドパスフィルタ27からの出力信号が図4(a)に示すように、前記第1のバンドパスフィルタ27の故障時から出力電圧を発生しなくなる。これにより、前記第1の同期検波器28からの出力信号が図4(b)のようになるとともに、前記第1の直流アンプ30の出力信号が図4(c)のようになる。しかしながら、前記第2の検出手段31における第2のバンドパスフィルタ32は正常に動作しているため、前記第2の直流アンプ35からの出力信号は図3(g)のようになる。このような状態において、前記故障診断回路36の差動アンプ37に前記第1の検出手段26における第1の直流アンプ30の出力信号および前記第2の検出手段31における第2の直流アンプ35の出力信号を入力すると、前記第1の直流アンプ30の出力信号と、前記第2の直流アンプ35の出力信号とに差が生じているため、前記差動アンプ37に出力電圧が生じる。そして、この差動アンプ37の出力信号を比較器39により、図4(d)に示すように、基準電圧器38の基準電圧VthHおよびVthLと比較し、前記差動アンプ37の出力が基準電圧VthH以上あるいはVthL以下の場合には、第1の角速度センサ11が故障しているとして、第1の故障診断回路36から図4(e)に示すように、ローの信号を出力する。そうすると、第1の反転回路47からの出力信号がハイとなるため、第1のスイッチ58は図5に示すようにオンする。一方、第2の故障診断回路41、第3の故障診断回路43、第4の故障診断回路45および論理回路46からの出力信号はハイとなり、かつ第2の反転回路48、第3の反転回路49、第4の反転回路50および第5の反転回路57からの出力信号はローとなるため、第2のスイッチ59、第3のスイッチ60、第4のスイッチ61および第5のスイッチ62は図5に示すようにオフとなる。したがって、故障信号出力端子65からは5Vが出力される。そうすると、選択手段66から第6のスイッチ67をオフにするミュート信号が発生し、第1の角速度センサ11からの出力信号の出力が停止する。同様に、第2の角速度センサ40が故障した場合には、第2のスイッチ59がオンとなり、故障信号出力端子65からは、3.75Vが出力される。そして、選択手段66から第7のスイッチ68をオフにするミュート信号が発生し、第2の角速度センサ40からの出力信号の出力が停止する。また、第3の角速度センサ42が故障した場合には、第3のスイッチ60がオンとなり、故障信号出力端子65からは、2.5Vが出力される。そして、選択手段66から第8のスイッチ69をオフにするミュート信号が発生し、第3の角速度センサ42からの出力信号の出力が停止する。さらに、第4の角速度センサ44が故障した場合には、第4のスイッチ61がオンとなり、故障信号出力端子65から1.25Vが出力される。そして、選択手段66から第9のスイッチ70をオフにするミュート信号が発生し、第4の角速度センサ44からの出力信号の出力が停止する。
