Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fuel cell, and more particularly to a honeycomb-shaped solid oxide fuel cell.
A solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is characterized in that the constituent material is solid and the operating environment is high temperature. As this SOFC, a cylindrical type and a flat plate type were known. However, the cylindrical SOFC has a problem that the output density per unit area is low, and the flat plate SOFC has a difficult problem in the sealing method and the like.
However, the conventional honeycomb-shaped SOFC has various problems. That is, since the electrode formed as a coating film is thin, there is a problem that the internal resistance of the electrode is large and the efficiency is low. In general, since the thermal expansion coefficient differs between the honeycomb-shaped support and the electrode, if the temperature changes, stress occurs between the support and the electrode coating film, and the electrode coating film peels off or cracks. There was a problem. Furthermore, since the electrode is formed only on the inner wall of the channel, the fuel gas (hydrogen) passing through the center of the channel is not involved in the reaction, and there is a problem that the loss of the fuel gas is large.
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and an object of the present invention is to provide a fuel cell that has high efficiency, causes electrode peeling and cracking, and has low fuel gas loss.
(1) The invention of
A support provided with a honeycomb-shaped channel; a first gas channel filled with a first electrode material while leaving a flow path of the first gas in a part of the channel; and one of the channels A second gas channel filled with a second electrode material while leaving a flow path for the second gas in the portion, and among the support, the first gas channel and the second gas channel A gist is a fuel cell comprising a solid electrolyte material portion provided between the gas channels.
In the fuel cell of the present invention, for example, using the first electrode material as an air electrode and the second electrode material as a fuel electrode, air is supplied to the first gas channel and hydrogen is supplied to the second gas channel. And an electromotive force is generated between the first electrode material and the second electrode material.
Since the fuel cell of the present invention includes an electrode filled in the entire inside of the channel, the internal resistance of the electrode is smaller and the efficiency is higher than in the case where the electrode of the coating film is provided inside the channel.
The fuel cell of the present invention only needs to fill the channel with the first electrode material or the second electrode material, and does not have to be fixed to the inner wall of the channel. Therefore, even if there is a difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the first electrode material or the second electrode material and the support, the electrode material is supported on the support like an electrode formed as a coating on the inner wall of the channel. There is no problem of peeling from the electrode or cracking of the electrode material.
The fuel cell of the present invention has a configuration in which the first gas and the second gas flow through the gap between the electrode materials filled in the channel, so that the contact efficiency between the electrode material and the gas is high, The proportion of gas that does not participate in the reaction can be reduced.
In addition, the fuel cell of the present invention has high productivity because it is only necessary to fill the channel with the electrode material in the formation of the electrode, and it is not necessary to form a coating film of the electrode material unlike the conventional fuel cell. .

In addition, a design in which openings having different shapes such as a regular triangle and a regular hexagon are adjacent to each other is possible.

Next, as in the case of (i), an insulating

b) Method of Using Solid
At this time, an electromotive force is generated between the

The configuration and manufacturing method of the solid
In the second embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7, an

Needless to say, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and can be implemented in various modes without departing from the scope of the present invention.
