隠蔽層１４を形成する材料は、疑似情報層１２上に形成することができ、剥離可能な材料であれば特に限定されないが、着色剤がバインダー樹脂に含有されたものが用いられる。バインダー樹脂としては、公知のバインダー樹脂が用いられるが、例えば、ゴム系天然樹脂（天然ゴム，塩酸ゴム等）、ジエン系樹脂（ポリブタジエン，スチレン・ブタジエン共重合体，アクリロニトリル・ブタジエン共重合体，ポリイソプレン，ポリクロロプレン等）や、アクリル系樹脂、ビニル系樹脂等が用いられる。また、着色剤としては、公知の着色剤が用いられるが、例えば、下層の隠蔽性を得るために、金属系微粉末（アルミニウム微粉末，黄銅微粉末，銅微粉末等）やそれらの酸化微粉末等が用いられる。

隠蔽層１４は、上述のバインダー樹脂及び着色剤を分散・混合させたインキまたは塗工液を用いて印刷または塗布される。このインキまたは塗工液の溶媒としては隠蔽層１４を形成する印刷方法や塗布方法に応じたものを使用すればよく、また、バインダー樹脂、着色層、インキまたは塗工液の溶媒等の混合割合も特に限定されず、隠蔽層１４を適切に印刷できる混合割合とすればよい。隠蔽層１４用のインキまたは塗工液には、これらの基本的な構成に加えて、他の添加物を添加することができる。

なお、本発明の印刷物１０を形成する各層の層厚は、特に限定されず、各層の機能を有する範囲で適宜設定される。本発明の印刷物１０には、図示しないが、上述の必須の層及び任意に設けられる層以外にさらに他の層を設けてもよい。本発明の印刷物１０は、層構成を工夫したものであるが、各層は従来公知の材料や方法で形成することができるため、複雑な製造工程が不要であり、製造コストも従来の印刷物より極端にあがることがない。特に、本発明の印刷物１０は、隠蔽情報層１２の隠蔽情報を印刷物１０により異ならせることとなるが、疑似情報層１３の疑似情報は一のシリーズにおける全ての印刷物１０において同一にすることができ、隠蔽情報によって構成を変える必要がないため、製造上の手間が低減し、コストが上昇しない。
