Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hologram recording medium in which sound information such as voice / music, image information such as a still image / moving image, or data information such as a text file is converted into a two-dimensional image and recorded as an element hologram, and optically generated from the hologram recording medium In particular, the present invention relates to a hologram reproducing apparatus and a hologram reproducing method for reading a two-dimensional image of an element hologram and reproducing information from the read two-dimensional image.
As an example of recording information on a sheet-like recording medium, a one-dimensional code or a two-dimensional code represented by a bar code, a QR code, a dot code, and the like can be given. However, in these information recording media, the amount of information that can be recorded per unit area is extremely low, about several tens to several kilobytes. This is because there is a physical limit to the recording resolution of simple image density printing.
Similarly, as a sheet-like recording medium, a hologram recording medium that records various data by interference fringes of object light and reference light is also known. It is also known that the hologram recording medium can dramatically increase the recording density and can be significantly increased in capacity, for example, for computer data, AV (Audio-Visual) content data such as audio and video, etc. It is considered useful as a large-capacity storage medium.
When data is recorded on the hologram recording medium, the data is imaged as two-dimensional page data. Then, the imaged data is displayed on a liquid crystal panel or the like, and the light transmitted through the liquid crystal panel is irradiated with object light, that is, object light that becomes an image of two-dimensional page data, on the hologram recording medium. In addition, the hologram recording medium is irradiated with reference light from a predetermined angle. At this time, the interference fringes generated by the object light and the reference light are recorded as one element hologram such as a dot shape or a strip shape. That is, one element hologram is a record of one two-dimensional page data.
By the way, considering a hologram memory such as a sheet, for example, a system for recording computer data, AV content data, etc., and allowing a general user to acquire data recorded in the hologram memory using a reproducing device as a hologram reader think of.

Then, the wavelength control unit switches the wavelength of the reproduction reference light output from the light source unit at a predetermined timing, and among the plural types of element holograms on the hologram recording medium, the reproduction light irradiated from the light source unit A two-dimensional image of an element hologram of a type corresponding to the wavelength of the reference light is picked up by the image pickup device section.

The hologram reproducing method of the present invention irradiates a hologram recording medium with reference light for reproduction, and as a two-dimensional image that appears as reproduced image light from an element hologram of the hologram recording medium, An imaging step of capturing a two-dimensional image, and a decoding step of performing decoding processing on the two-dimensional image obtained in the imaging step to reproduce information.
The hologram recording medium of the present invention is a hologram recording medium in which information is imaged, the object light of the imaged information is interfered with a recording reference light, and the information is recorded as an element hologram by interference fringes, A hologram recording medium on which a plurality of types of element holograms having different wavelengths of recording reference light used during recording are recorded adjacently as the element hologram.
That is, in the present invention, it is possible to reproduce data by scanning an element hologram array recorded on, for example, a sheet-like hologram recording medium by a reproducing apparatus including the above-described imaging means and decoding processing means.
Here, on the hologram recording medium, a plurality of types of element holograms having different wavelengths of recording reference light used during recording are recorded adjacently. For example, three types of element holograms recorded with R (red), G (green), and B (blue) recording reference beams are recorded. Reproduction image light is obtained by irradiating each type of element hologram with reproduction reference light having the same wavelength. This means that element holograms of different types of wavelengths can be read out without crosstalk by separating each reproduced image light even if they are recorded in close contact or in a state of being overlapped when viewed in the plane direction.
As a hologram reproducing device, for example, the reproduction reference light having the R, G, and B wavelengths is switched and used, or the reproduced image light is separated for each wavelength, so that two kinds of element holograms as reproduced image light can be used. Dimensional images can be read with little crosstalk. By remarkably reducing the crosstalk, the reading error can be reduced and the reproduction error rate can be improved.
According to the present invention, a plurality of types of element holograms having different wavelengths of recording reference light used during recording are recorded on the hologram recording medium. For this reason, as a hologram reproducing device, a two-dimensional image as a reproduction image light of each type of element hologram can be obtained by switching and using reproduction reference light of different wavelengths or by separating the reproduction image light for each wavelength. Reading can be performed without crosstalk. In addition, from this, it is not necessary to sufficiently dispose the arrangement positions of each type of element hologram in the plane direction in order to avoid crosstalk, and the recording density can be increased in a plane.
That is, according to the present invention, element holograms are recorded at a high density, and the recording capacity of the hologram recording medium is increased, and stable information reproduction can be realized with reduced crosstalk.

When the condenser lens 2 is used in this way, the data recorded as the element hologram becomes a Fourier image of the recording data image by the Fourier transform action of the condenser lens 2.
In this way, one element hologram is recorded in the
When recording each element hologram, the position of the hologram memory 3 (hologram material) is transferred (or the recording optical system is transferred) by a transfer mechanism (not shown), and the recording position of the element hologram is set on the plane of the
In each element hologram, a two-dimensional image as data DT is recorded as illustrated in FIG.

[2. Element hologram arrangement on hologram memory of embodiment]
The arrangement of the element holograms on the
As described with reference to FIG. 1, the
First, the situation in the arrangement of element holograms will be described.
For example, as shown in FIG. 2 above, a plurality of element holograms on which two-dimensional page data is recorded are arranged and recorded on the same recording medium, and can be used as a large-capacity storage medium by sequentially reading them. When the interval between element holograms is short, there is a problem that crosstalk occurs in a two-dimensional image read from each element hologram. This crosstalk tends to cause a reading error during reproduction, and the error rate is deteriorated.
For example, FIG. 4A shows a state in which the element hologram h2 and the element holograms h1, h3, h4, and h5 are arranged on the
In this case, when the spot SP of the reproduction reference light L4 comes right above the element hologram h2 as shown in the drawing, the surrounding element holograms h2, h3, h4, and h5 also enter the spot SP. Then, in addition to the reproduced image light of the element hologram h2, the
In this way, when the element holograms are arranged relatively close to each other, consider an imaging signal obtained by the
As can be seen from FIG. 5A, the signals S1, S2, and S3 obtained for the element holograms h1, h2, and h3 have overlapping waveforms, and the overlapping components become crosstalk and affect the reproduction process.
FIG. 5B shows a case where the element holograms are further brought closer to each other. In this case, the waveform overlap of the signals S1, S2, and S3 obtained for the element holograms h1, h2, and h3 becomes more prominent. Talk increases.
On the other hand, in order to prevent crosstalk from becoming a problem, the distances between the element holograms may be sufficiently separated. That is, if the element holograms are arranged at a distance as shown in FIG. 4B, when the spot SP of the reproduction reference light L4 comes directly above the element hologram h2 as shown in the figure, the surroundings are inside the spot SP. The element holograms h1, h3, h4, and h5 are not included. That is, the reproduced image light of the element holograms h1, h3, h4, and h5 is not generated in this state.
In this case, when an imaging signal obtained by the

That is, as the distance between the element holograms is reduced, the recording density increases and the storage capacity of the hologram memory can be increased, but the problem of crosstalk occurs during reproduction. Conversely, if the distance between the element holograms is sufficiently increased, the problem of crosstalk is solved, but the storage capacity of the
On the other hand, in the
FIG. 6B shows an arrangement example of the three types of element holograms hR, hG, and hB in the
FIG. 6A shows, for comparison, a state in which the element holograms are spaced apart as shown in FIG. In FIG. 6A, as indicated by a broken line, the element hologram h is separated by one element hologram as a separation distance in which crosstalk does not occur. The pitch of each element hologram is indicated by P1.
In the case of this example, the element holograms hR, hG, and hB are recorded while being partially overlapped as shown in FIG. The spacing between adjacent element holograms while partially overlapping is P1 / 3. In this case, the element holograms of the same type, for example, the element hologram hR and the element hologram hR are recorded with one element hologram separated. Similarly, the element hologram hG and the element hologram hG, and the element hologram hB and the element hologram hB are recorded with one element hologram separated from each other.
That is, the element holograms recorded with the recording reference light L3 having the same wavelength are recorded at intervals of the pitch P1 as in FIG. 6A, but three types of element holograms are recorded by the recording reference light L3 having three different wavelengths. Looking at hR, hG, and hB, the separation pitch of the element holograms is P1 / 3, which means that recording is performed at a recording density three times that in the case of FIG.

FIG. 7A shows the element hologram arrangement, and FIG. 7B shows the waveform of the luminance total value of the imaging signal of each element hologram read by the

Further, regarding the element hologram hB, when the reproduction reference light L4 is blue light, reproduction image light is generated and is captured by the
That is, when three types of element holograms hR, hG, and hB are recorded by the recording reference light L3 having different wavelengths, the reproduction reference light L4 having different wavelengths is reproduced during reproduction even if they are arranged without being sufficiently separated. If used, crosstalk will not occur.
For example, when the reproduction reference light L4 is white light, that is, light in an optical wavelength band including each of the R, G, and B wavelength components, reproduced image light is generated from all the element holograms hR, hG, and hB. If a method of separating the reproduced image light or the imaging signal for each wavelength is taken, the signals of the respective element holograms hR, hG, hB can be extracted without crosstalk.
That is, the

FIG. 8 is an example in which a plurality of rows of the one row array shown in FIG. 6B are formed. Note that the pitch P1 may be secured as the separation distance of each row so that the same type of element holograms (for example, element holograms hR and hR) have a sufficient separation distance.
FIG. 9 shows an example in which the same kind of element holograms are shifted in the vertical direction in each row. In this case as well, the pitch P1 is ensured between the element holograms of the same type, but the line spacing can be made narrower than in the example of FIG.
FIG. 10 is an arrangement example of four types of element holograms recorded by four types of recording reference beams L3 having different wavelengths as element holograms hλ1, hλ2, hλ3, and hλ4.
For example, the element holograms hλ1 and hλ2 are alternately arranged in the odd rows of the first row, the third row,..., And the element holograms hλ3 and hλ4 are alternately arranged in the even rows of the second row, the fourth row. Deploy. In this case, as shown in the figure, all the element holograms can be arranged in the column direction and the row direction while maintaining the pitch P1.
Needless to say, various arrangement examples other than those shown in FIGS. 8, 9, and 10 can be considered.

First, a scanning method common to the
The

FIG. 11B schematically shows the
Since how the user actually moves the

The two-dimensional image signal converted into digital data output from the hologram

Although not shown in the figure, a media drive for recording on a predetermined recording medium may be provided, and the reproduction data may be recorded on the recording medium by the media drive.
As the recording medium, for example, an optical disk, a magneto-optical disk or the like is assumed. For example, recordable discs of various types such as a CD (Compact Disc) method, a DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) method, a Blu-ray Disc (Blu-Ray Disc) method, and a mini disc (Mini Disc) method are considered as the recording media. When these discs are used as recording media, the media drive performs encoding processing, error correction code processing, compression processing, or the like corresponding to the disc type, and records the reproduced data on the disc.
Further, a hard disk is also assumed as a recording medium, and in this case, the media drive is configured as a so-called HDD (hard disk drive).
Furthermore, the recording medium can be realized as a portable memory card with a built-in solid-state memory or a built-in solid-state memory. Record the data reproduced by processing.
Furthermore, for example, it is naturally conceivable to include an audio reproduction output system and a video reproduction output system for reproducing AV content data recorded on a recording medium with a media drive and decoding and outputting the reproduced AV content data.
Data reproduced by the media drive can also be transferred to an external device via the

If it is determined in step F106 that the decoded data is not yet stored in the

The calculation of the progress status in step F109 is a calculation of what percentage of data is decoded and stored in the
For example, in the header information of data recorded in each element hologram at the time of recording, the data size of the entire recording data (for example, the entire content data) and the number of divided data blocks are recorded. In this way, when the data from a certain element hologram can be decoded first, the
For this reason, the calculation of the progress status indicates the percentage of the progress status from the data size as the data already stored in the
Alternatively, from the total number of data blocks and the number of data blocks stored in the
In step F109, the data reading progress is 100% completed, that is, the reading of the element hologram is determined to be completed. The determination is based on whether or not the block data has been read, and it is not necessary to determine whether or not reading of all the element holograms in the
It is assumed that multiple element holograms that record the same data contents are recorded, and furthermore, original recording data can be constructed by error correction processing and data interpolation processing without reading all data blocks Because there is also.
In Step F110, whether or not the required amount of data reading with the reproduction reference light L4 (L4R) of the xth wavelength (first wavelength) has been completed, that is, the data to be read from the multiple element holograms hR is nonvolatile. It is determined whether or not the data is stored in the
For this determination, it is only necessary to record the data size and the number of data blocks recorded for the whole type element holograms as the header information of each type element holograms hR, hG, and hB.
For example, by comparing the data size or the number of data blocks of the entire data recorded as a number of element holograms hR with the data size or the number of data blocks stored in the
If data reading of the element hologram hR with the current wavelength (red reproduction reference light L4 from the
Then, returning to step F103, the process for the element hologram hR from which the reproduced image light is subsequently read is executed in the same manner.

Although not shown in FIG. 14, a decoding error may occur in step F105. Discard and return to step F103.

At a certain time, when it is determined in step F110 that the reading of the element hologram hB by the blue reproduction reference light L4B having the third wavelength is completed, the reference light source 7B is turned off in step F112.

In this case, the
The difference from the above configuration example I is that the tracking
The tracking here refers to detecting the timing at which the reproduction reference light L4 (L4R, L4G, L4B) is irradiated to an optimum position with respect to a certain element hologram. This can be said to be the timing at which reproduced image light having the highest luminance level is obtained from a certain element hologram.
Tracking will be described with reference to FIG.
FIG. 17A shows a part of the arrangement of the element holograms hR, hG, hB, and the arrows are displayed with the reproduction reference beams L4R, L4G, L4B turned on for the element holograms hR, hG, hB. As shown in FIG. 17, the detection waveform (luminance total value) of the reproduced image light obtained by the
Further, FIG. 17C shows the waveform of the luminance addition signal with the signals SR, SG, and SB as a total value (SR + SG + SB).
As the tracking operation, the
The tracking
The tracking
As can be seen from FIG. 17 (c), the luminance addition signal exceeds the threshold Th during the optimal tracking timing for a certain element hologram, that is, the period during which the scan position is directly above the certain element hologram. .
That is, it is possible to determine whether or not an appropriate tracking timing for a certain element hologram is obtained based on a comparison result between the luminance addition signal and the threshold value Th. Further, when it is determined that the tracking timing is reached, it is possible to determine which of the element holograms hR, hG, and hB is the optimum tracking timing for the level of the signals SR, SG, and SB. This is because, for example, the signal SR is maximum among the signals SR, SG, and SB at the tracking timing for the element hologram hR.
In this way, when it is detected that the tracking timing for a certain element hologram, that is, a period during which a suitable reproduced image light is obtained, only the reference light source having the corresponding wavelength at that time is turned on and the others are turned off. Then, a two-dimensional image of one element hologram can be obtained without crosstalk.
In order to perform the above tracking timing discrimination, it is desirable that the reproduction reference beams L4R, L4G, and L4B from the reference

In response to the start of reproduction, the
In this state, when the user moves the
In this state, in step F202, the
If it is detected in step F202 that the luminance addition signal (SR + SG + SB)> threshold Th, the process proceeds to steps F203 and F204, and the levels of the signals SR, SG, and SB obtained at that time are compared.

[5. Hologram reader configuration example III]
Next, a configuration example III of the
FIG. 20 is a block diagram of the

Of course, any other structure may be used as long as one of the filters that respectively transmit red, green, and blue is selectively inserted into the optical path of the reproduced image light.
The processing when data is reproduced from the
For simplification of explanation, it is assumed that the scanning method is manual scanning and the camera
As the reproduction starts, the

In this state, when the user moves the

In step F310, whether or not the required amount of data has been read with the xth wavelength (first wavelength) selected by the
For this determination, it is only necessary to record the data size and the number of data blocks recorded for the whole type element holograms as the header information of each type element holograms hR, hG, and hB.

If it is determined in step F307 that the decoded data is already stored in the
Although not shown in FIG. 21, if a decoding error occurs in step F306, the data can be discarded and the process can return to step F304.

In this state, the processing after step F304 is performed in the same manner as described above, so that data is read from the element hologram hG. Then, read data from the element hologram hG read in random order is accumulated in the

[7. Hologram reader configuration example V]
Next, a configuration example V of the
FIG. 24 is a block diagram of a

[8. Effects and modifications of the embodiment]
The configuration and operation of the embodiment have been described above. According to the
In the
That is, the element holograms hR, hG, and hB are adjacently recorded at a high density to increase the recording capacity of the
If the tracking timing is detected and the two-dimensional image of the element hologram is picked up as in the configuration example II, an optimum image pickup signal can be obtained with a high luminance level of the reproduced image light. That is, the quality of the two-dimensional image signal is improved, thereby further improving the data reproduction performance.
Further, as can be seen from the processing of the above examples, the
Then, when reading of a predetermined amount of element holograms is completed, the data is reconstructed, and data such as original content data, that is, reproduction data is generated.
Such processing is suitable for data reproduction from the
This means that it is not necessary to provide a scanning mechanism in the reproduction image light detection system using the
Further, in the case of manual scanning, each element hologram is read out stochastically, but the decoded data is stored in the
Further, for the user, it is only necessary to arbitrarily move the
Furthermore, it is very effective for improving usability to know how much scanning has been completed or how much manual scanning should be continued by displaying the progress status. For example, if the manual scan is performed indiscriminately, the user's feeling of use is bad, but this point can be solved by allowing the user to grasp the progress status.
For these reasons, for example, computer data, AV content data, and the like are recorded in the
Further, the geometric distortion correction
Further, not performing the correction process on the two-dimensional image itself until the information decoding by the
For these reasons, it is possible to realize the effects of reading a large amount of information from the hologram recording medium, high-speed reproduction processing, and obtaining high-quality reproduction information.

Therefore, for example, computer data and AV content data can be recorded on a hologram recording medium and widely distributed, and a general user can acquire data recorded in the

In the embodiment, an example in which three types of element holograms hR, hG, and hR corresponding to R, G, and B wavelengths are recorded has been described. May be recorded in the
