Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a motorcycle tire. Specifically, the present invention relates to an improvement in the cross-sectional shape of a tire.
In a motorcycle, the vehicle body is tilted when turning. For this reason, motorcycles are more likely to fall than motorcycles. On wet road surfaces with a low coefficient of friction, when a motorcycle begins to accelerate near a corner exit, wheel spin may occur. For this reason, in tires mounted on motorcycles, grip force is improved in order to prevent the wheels from falling during turning and to suppress the occurrence of wheel spin.
In a tire in which the radius of curvature of the outer surface of the tread is increased and a sufficient contact area is ensured, the grip force during turning is good, but the contact pressure is low. When such a tire is bent under a high load, the contact pressure at the center of the contact surface is significantly reduced. Tires with significantly reduced contact pressure are inferior in contact feeling.
When the rigidity of the tread is increased, the deflection of the tire is suppressed. However, a tire having a high tread rigidity has insufficient disturbance absorption. Tires with low disturbance absorption are inferior in ride comfort.
An object of the present invention is to provide a motorcycle tire excellent in gripping force, ground contact feeling and disturbance absorption.
As a result of intensive studies on the shape of the carcass and belt of the tire, the inventors have improved the grip strength, grounding feeling, and disturbance absorption of the tire by controlling the shape of the carcass and belt as compared with the conventional tire. I found out.
Preferably, the tire can be used on the rear wheel of a motorcycle.
Preferably, in this tire, the nominal size in the JATMA standard is 180 / 55ZR17 or 190 / 50ZR17.
In this tire, the approximate radius R1 of the belt ply in the vicinity of the equator plane is 80 mm or more and 120 mm or less, so that a sufficient contact area is ensured. Tires with a sufficient contact area are excellent in grip. Since this tire includes a belt having a jointless structure, the rigidity of the tread is high. For this reason, the bending of the tread when a high load is applied is suppressed. Tires with reduced tread deflection are excellent in touch. In this tire, the shape of the belt ply and the carcass ply is optimized by controlling the approximate radius R1 and the approximate radius R2 of the carcass ply near the sidewall. For this reason, this tire has sufficient disturbance absorbability while ensuring a gripping force. Since this tire is excellent in gripping force, touch feeling and disturbance absorption, it has a high limit performance during turning. Such a tire can achieve an increase in turning speed.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail based on preferred embodiments with appropriate reference to the drawings.

The
Although not shown, the carcass ply 30 includes a carcass cord and a topping rubber. The absolute value of the angle formed by the carcass cord with respect to the equator plane is usually 75 ° to 90 °. In other words, the tire 2 is a radial tire. The carcass cord is usually made of an organic fiber. Examples of preferable organic fibers include polyester fibers, nylon fibers, rayon fibers, polyethylene naphthalate fibers, and aramid fibers.

In FIG. 1, a point P4 is a position on the
The approximate radius R1 is not less than 80 mm and not more than 120 mm. By setting the approximate radius R1 to 80 mm or more, a sufficient ground contact area is ensured. The tire 2 in which a sufficient contact area is ensured has an excellent grip. From this viewpoint, the approximate radius R1 is more preferably 85 mm or more, and particularly preferably 90 mm or more. By setting the approximate radius R1 to 120 mm or less, the formation of the camber angle can be maintained, so that the function as the tire 2 can be maintained. From this viewpoint, the approximate radius R1 is more preferably 111 mm or less, and particularly preferably 100 mm or less.
The approximate radius R2 is 10 mm or more. By setting the approximate radius R2 to 10 mm or more, a portion that bends in the sidewall 8 is formed, so that the tire 2 is imparted with disturbance absorption. From this viewpoint, the approximate radius R2 is preferably 15 mm or more, and particularly preferably 20 mm or more.
In the tire 2, the approximate radii R1 and R2 also satisfy the relationship represented by the above formula (I).
FIG. 4 is a graph showing the relationship between the approximate radii R1 and R2 of the tire 2 of FIG. In FIG. 4, the thin solid line LA is a linear function represented by R2 = (− R1 + 120) × 0.85. The thin solid line LB is a linear function represented by R2 = (− R1 + 120) × 1.15. The range of the approximate radius R1 is 80 mm or more and 120 mm or less, and the range of the approximate radius R2 is 10 mm or more. Therefore, the combination of the approximate radii R1 and R2 that satisfy the above formula (I) and can be set substantially. Is located in a region ER surrounded by a thick solid line LC. Accordingly, the upper limit value of the approximate radius R2 is 46 mm. In FIG. 4, points P9, P10, P11, and P12 represent the vertices of this region ER.
In the tire 2, since the approximate radius R1 of the belt ply 32 in the vicinity of the equator plane is set to 80 mm or more and 120 mm or less, a sufficient ground contact area is ensured. The tire 2 in which a sufficient contact area is ensured has an excellent grip. Since the tire 2 includes the
In the tire 2, since the combination of the approximate radii R1 and R2 is adjusted so as to be located in the region ER, the sidewall 8 is appropriately bent without impairing the contact area. Therefore, the tire 2 has sufficient disturbance absorption while securing a grip force.
The tire 2 is excellent in grip strength, ground contact feeling, and disturbance absorption. Such a tire 2 is attached to a rear wheel that functions as a driving wheel of a motorcycle.
The nominal size of the tire 2 in the JATMA standard is preferably 180 / 55ZR17. By setting the nominal size to 180 / 55ZR17, it can be mounted on the rear wheel of a motorcycle for high speed running. In the motorcycle to which the tire 2 is attached, the limit performance at the time of turning is enhanced, so that the turning speed can be increased. The nominal size may be 190 / 50ZR17.
Hereinafter, the effects of the present invention will be clarified by examples. However, the present invention should not be construed in a limited manner based on the description of the examples.

A prototype tire was mounted on the rear wheel of a commercially available motorcycle (4-stroke) having a displacement of 600 cm 3 . The rim was MT 5.50 × 17 and the tire air pressure was 290 kPa. The front wheels are equipped with commercially available conventional tires. The nominal nominal size of the front tire is 120 / 70ZR17. The rim was MT3.50 × 17 and the tire air pressure was 250 kPa. On the circuit course, turning runs from 100 km / h to 150 km / h and driving straight from 200 km / h to the maximum speed of the vehicle (about 280 km / h) were carried out. Sensory evaluation was performed on grip strength, touch feeling and disturbance absorption. Larger values indicate better results. A score of 4.0 or higher is acceptable. The results are shown in Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3 below.
As shown in Tables 1, 2 and 3, the tires of the examples are excellent in grip strength, ground contact feeling and disturbance absorption. From this evaluation result, the superiority of the present invention is clear.
The motorcycle tire according to the present invention can be mounted on various vehicles.
