Description
Claims (10)
- 互いに反対にある端部燃料電池を規定するスタック内に配列された複数の燃料電池を備える燃料電池スタックアッセンブリを作動させる方法であって、複数の燃料電池は、互いに反対にある端部燃料電池の間に中間の燃料電池を含んでおり、この方法は、燃料および酸化剤を中間の燃料電池に供給することを含み、それによって、一方または両方の端部燃料電池が、水素をその電池に亘って輸送しかつ熱を生成することを特徴とする燃料電池スタックアッセンブリを作動させる方法。
- 前記水素を輸送しかつ前記熱を生成し、それによって、この熱が氷点より低い状態からの燃料電池スタックアッセンブリの始動を助けるように、前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池に選択的に酸化剤は供給せずに前記燃料を供給することをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池に選択的に供給するステップは、前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池を通る酸化剤流れを選択的に遮断・流通させることを含むことを特徴とする請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記燃料電池スタックアッセンブリは、前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池への酸化剤の流れを選択的に許可・遮断する流量制御部材をさらに備えており、供給ステップは、この流量制御部材を選択的に作動させることを含むことを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記の供給ステップは、前記互いに反対にある端部燃料電池の両方に前記燃料を供給することを含み、それによって、前記互いに反対にある端部燃料電池の両方が、前記水素を移動させかつ前記熱を生成することを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 互いに反対にある端部燃料電池と、これらの間に配置された中間の燃料電池とを規定するスタック内に配列された複数の燃料電池と、
燃料をこれら複数の燃料電池に供給するための燃料供給システムと、
酸化剤をこれら複数の燃料電池に供給するための酸化剤供給システムと、
を備える燃料電池スタックアッセンブリであって、前記互いに反対にある端部燃料電池のうちの一方または両方の端部燃料電池が、燃料がその一方または両方の端部燃料電池に供給されて水素を移動させかつ熱を生成する水素ポンプ送りモードで作動可能であり、酸化剤は、水素ポンプ送りモードの間に前記水素ポンプ電池には供給されないことを特徴とする燃料電池スタックアッセンブリ。 - 前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池は、水素ポンプ送りモードと、燃料と酸化剤とが前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池に供給されて電流を生成する通常作動モードとにおいて選択的に作動可能であることを特徴とする請求項6記載の装置。
- 前記酸化剤供給システムから前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池への流れを選択的に制御するように適合された流量制御部材をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項7記載の装置。
- 前記流量制御部材は、前記一方または両方の端部燃料電池の酸化剤入口と酸化剤出口との一方または両方に配置された回転可能なシャッターを備えることを特徴とする請求項8記載の装置。
- 前記互いに反対にある端部燃料電池の両方が、前記水素生成モードで作動可能であることを特徴とする請求項9記載の装置。
