Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hydrogen generation cell for generating hydrogen gas to be supplied to a fuel cell and a hydrogen generation apparatus having the hydrogen generation cell.
A fuel cell is an energy source that is attracting attention because it has higher power generation efficiency than other power generation systems and does not generate substances that pollute the atmosphere. In order to generate power in the fuel cell, air (oxygen) is supplied to the cathode and hydrogen is supplied to the anode. Hydrogen becomes hydrogen ions and electrons by the catalytic reaction at the anode, and the hydrogen ions move through the electrolyte and react with oxygen by the catalytic reaction at the cathode to become water. On the other hand, the electrons travel through the external circuit and move to the cathode. Electric energy is generated by the movement of the electrons.
As described above, it is necessary to supply hydrogen as a fuel to the fuel cell. Accordingly, various apparatuses for generating hydrogen are known and disclosed in, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2 below. These all generate hydrogen by decomposing hydrocarbons. The hydrogen generators in Patent Documents 1 and 2 are constituted by a cylindrical reactor as well as a cylindrical heat supply device.
In such a hydrogen generator, it is necessary to control or limit the amount of water fed into the reaction vessel. There is a problem that excessive hydrogen gas is generated when a large amount of water (water vapor) is fed. In order to control (limit) the feed amount of water, it is preferable to use a pump. However, a space for housing the pump and a mechanism for driving the pump are required, which increases costs and enlarges the apparatus. In particular, when a hydrogen generation cell is incorporated in a portable device such as a notebook computer, a configuration that can achieve downsizing as much as possible is required. That is, a hydrogen generation cell that exhibits a predetermined function without using a pump is desired.
This invention is made | formed in view of the said situation, The subject has a hydrogen generating cell which can restrict | limit supply amount when supplying water (water vapor | steam) from a water accommodating part to a metal accommodating part, and this It is to provide a hydrogen generator.
In order to solve the above problems, a hydrogen generation cell according to the present invention is:
A hydrogen generation cell for generating hydrogen gas to be supplied to a fuel cell,
A containment vessel;
A metal container for accommodating metal, provided inside the container;
A water storage part having an internal space in which water to be reacted with the metal of the metal storage part is stored;
A water supply member disposed in a passage communicating the internal space and the external space of the water storage unit;
A heating space for changing the water guided to the external space by the water supply member into water vapor and sending it to the metal housing;
It is characterized by comprising a gas outlet for guiding hydrogen gas generated by the reaction of metal and water vapor to the outside of the container.
The operation and effect of the hydrogen generation cell having such a configuration will be described. This hydrogen generation cell includes a metal container and a water container inside the container. The container itself is not limited to a specific structure, and the material and the like can be appropriately determined by a single component or a combination of a plurality of components. A metal that reacts with water (water vapor) in the water storage unit to generate hydrogen gas is stored in the metal storage unit. Examples of the metal include iron and aluminum. The water in the water storage portion is guided to the outside of the water storage portion in the form of being sucked by the water supply member. The water guided by the water supply member is heated in the heating space and changes to water vapor. This water vapor is sent into the metal container and causes a chemical reaction with the metal. As a result, hydrogen gas is generated, and the hydrogen gas is guided to the outside of the container by the gas outlet and is supplied to the fuel cell.
Therefore, the amount of water (steam) supplied from the water storage unit is limited by the water supply member, and it is possible to prevent excessive supply of water. The amount of water limited by the water supply member can be set based on the material of the water supply member and the size of the space (passage) in which the water supply member is arranged. As a result, it is possible to provide a hydrogen generation cell that limits the supply amount when water (water vapor) is supplied from the water storage unit to the metal storage unit.
The water supply member according to the present invention is preferably water supply paper. If it is water supply paper, it can obtain easily and can also hold down cost low. Further, it can be easily incorporated into the water storage section.
In the present invention, the water storage portion includes a cylindrical first storage member, a circular opening hole provided on one end side of the storage member, and a cap member for closing the circular opening hole. It is preferable that the water supply member is disposed in a ring-shaped space formed between the members.
A water supply member can be arrange | positioned here by forming a ring-shaped space part between the circular opening hole of a cylindrical 1st accommodating member, and a cap member. Since the water supply member can be disposed in a sandwiched manner, it can be easily assembled.
In this invention, it is preferable that the said container is provided with a heat insulation part, and a metal storage part and a water storage part are provided inside this heat insulation part. For example, in a metal housing part, the appropriate temperature when hydrogen gas is generated by reacting iron and water vapor is 100 ° C. to 400 ° C., but in order to perform the reaction efficiently, the one as close to 400 ° C. as possible Is desirable. Therefore, a structure that does not allow heat to escape is required. Then, it can be set as the structure which heat does not escape by providing the said heat insulation part.
In the present invention, a second housing member constituting the metal housing portion is provided, the second housing member is formed of a metal material that is easily heated by electromagnetic induction, and the housing container is not heated or heated by electromagnetic induction. It is preferably formed of a difficult material.
When heating the inside of a metal accommodating part, there exists a method of heating by electromagnetic induction. A hydrogen generating cell can be set in an apparatus for performing electromagnetic induction heating, and the second housing member constituting the metal housing portion can be heated. The second housing member is made of a material that is easily heated by electromagnetic induction (for example, stainless steel), and the housing container constituting the heat insulating portion is made of a material that is not heated by electromagnetic induction or is hardly heated (for example, aluminum). Thereby, since the outermost container is not heated by electromagnetic induction (it is difficult to be heated), there is no problem even if it is touched by hand.
In this invention, it is preferable to form the 1st accommodating member which comprises a water accommodating part with the material which is not heated by an electromagnetic induction, or is hard to be heated. If the configuration is such that the water in the water storage portion is directly heated, there is a possibility that more water vapor than necessary will be generated. Therefore, the 1st accommodating member which comprises a water accommodating part is taken as the material (for example, resin) which is not heated by electromagnetic induction (it is hard to be heated). Thereby, the heating effect | action with respect to water can be suppressed.
In the present invention, it is preferable that the first housing member is supported on the inner wall surface of the housing container by an O-ring. Thereby, it can suppress that heat is transmitted to a 1st accommodating member (water accommodating part) via an accommodating container. Thereby, the heating effect | action to the water in a water accommodating part can be suppressed.
In the present invention, it is preferable that the second housing member is supported on the inner wall surface of the housing container by an O ring. Thereby, it can suppress that the heat | fever of the 2nd accommodating member (metal accommodating part) in a heating state escapes outside.
A hydrogen generation apparatus can be configured from the hydrogen generation cell according to the present invention and a water tank for supplying water to the water storage unit. The water tank has a function of storing water. The supply of water from the water tank to the water storage unit can be performed by an appropriate method and at an appropriate timing.

<Configuration of hydrogen generation cell>
Next, a specific configuration of the
In the internal space of the
A resin pipe 16 (corresponding to a first housing member) is provided as the water housing portion C, and water is held in the
When supplying the water of the water storage part C to the metal storage part B, it is necessary to restrict so that excessive water is not supplied to the metal storage part B. Therefore, by providing the
Further, by forming the water storage portion C with the
The water accommodation part C and the iron accommodation part B are partitioned by a net-like member 21 (corresponding to a partition part). When the water stored in the water storage part C rises through the
Since the water stored in the water storage section C is a consumable item, it needs to be replenished as appropriate. Therefore, a water introduction pipe 22 (corresponding to a water introduction portion) is provided and connected to a
When the water in the

Next, a chemical reaction when hydrogen gas is generated in the
The chemical reaction for generating hydrogen is as shown in the following formula.
[Chemical 1]
4H 2 O + 3Fe → Fe 3 O 4 + 4H 2
That is, when water (steam) is supplied to pure iron, they react to produce iron oxide and hydrogen gas. This chemical reaction does not generate gases that adversely affect the environment, such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. In other words, it can be said that it is clean energy. Only hydrogen gas (pure hydrogen) is supplied to the fuel cell S. Although water is accommodated in the water accommodating portion 37, it is possible to generate water vapor by heating and supply it to the iron accommodating portion 36.
The chemical reaction in the iron accommodating part B is performed at about 100 ° C to 400 ° C. In order to maintain the iron accommodating part B in the said temperature range, the vacuum

Next, a system for heating the

The
The
<Heating operation>
Next, the operation in the case of heating the iron accommodating portion B using the heating system for the hydrogen gas generation unit shown in FIG. 3 will be described. For example, the
The water transmitted through the
Once attached to the notebook personal computer, the iron accommodating part B can be heated by a film heater. If the notebook personal computer has not been used for a long time, the
