Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a transmissive optical member that transmits light projected from a light source and emits the light to an observation side, and a translucent substrate used therefor.
Conventionally, this type of transmissive optical member is used in a rear projection display device that projects and displays image light from behind the screen, and is used as a transmissive screen that magnifies and projects the image light to display on the observation side. ing.
This transmissive screen generally includes a Fresnel lens sheet that refracts image light projected from a light source (for example, a liquid crystal projector) to the observation side so as to be substantially parallel light, and a lenticular lens that diffuses this image light. Used in combination with a sheet or the like.
The Fresnel lens sheet and the lenticular lens sheet are formed as an integral sheet by extrusion molding, or are formed by laminating optical elements such as lenses on a plastic substrate such as an acrylic resin or a polycarbonate resin.
However, the thickness and size of a plastic substrate may change due to environmental changes such as temperature and humidity. For this reason, the sheet is deformed and warped, and a float may be generated between the Fresnel lens sheet and the lenticular lens sheet. When image light is projected onto the transmissive screen in such a state, there is a problem in that the image quality is remarkably lowered, such as defocusing, color reproduction deterioration, double image, and image distortion.
In particular, in a thin rear projection television, since the incident angle of the image light on the transmissive screen is large, there is a problem that slight warping or floating generated in the transmissive screen has a great influence on the image quality.
Further, when the transmission type screen is enlarged, there is a problem that image deterioration due to warping and floating caused by environmental changes becomes more conspicuous than a small one, and there is a problem that it is easily bent due to its own weight.
Therefore, a transmission type screen using a glass substrate (hereinafter referred to as a glass substrate) that is resistant to changes in temperature and humidity and does not warp due to environmental changes has been developed (for example, Patent Document 1).
According to the transmission type screen of
However, in the transmission type screen of
By the way, glass plates used for transmissive screens are generally made of blue plate glass, alkali glass, or non-alkali glass. There is tempered glass.
Further, in recent years, display products are becoming thinner and larger, and the glass substrate used as a component is also becoming thinner and larger.
For this reason, the glass substrate needs to be strengthened and subjected to safety measures. For example, the end face thereof is subjected to C chamfering or R chamfering.
However, the end surface of the glass substrate is mirror-finished by C chamfering or R chamfering. For this reason, the transmissive screen has a problem in that stray light generated in other portions reaches the end surface of the mirror-finished glass substrate and is reflected on the end surface, thereby causing adverse effects such as deterioration in image quality.
The subject of this invention is providing the translucent board | substrate and transmissive | pervious optical member which can reduce the bad influence of the generated stray light.

(4) In the transmissive optical member of the present invention, since at least the end of the translucent substrate is covered with the light absorption layer, a part of the light projected from the light source becomes stray light, and the inside of the translucent substrate Even if the reflection is repeated, the light absorption layer absorbs the adverse effect of the generated stray light.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.

Next, the
The adhesive layer may be colored by mixing pigment-based ink or dye-based ink. In this way, the
