Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electrode member used for a tube product such as a cold cathode discharge lamp, a sealing lead wire, and a cold cathode fluorescent lamp using these members.
In recent years, small personal computers and televisions using liquid crystal display devices (hereinafter abbreviated as LCDs) have been promoted to be thinner and have higher luminance. As a small fluorescent lamp used in a backlight device for illuminating the LCD, a cold cathode fluorescent lamp that is easy to downsize and excellent in life characteristics is often used.
In order to connect molybdenum as a sealing material and molybdenum as a cold cathode as in the above prior art, both molybdenums are not melted by resistance welding. Therefore, in order to ensure a predetermined connection strength, 2000 ° C. or more is required. It must be welded at a high temperature and cannot be easily welded. A similar problem exists in the welding connection between a molybdenum sealing material and an external lead wire such as a dimet wire.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems. An electrode member, a sealing lead wire, and a sealing lead wire that can sufficiently secure connection strength of a bottomed cylindrical cup electrode and sealing material made of tungsten or molybdenum by resistance welding. It aims at providing the cold cathode fluorescent lamp which has a member.
The electrode member according to claim 1 is a bottomed cylindrical cup electrode made of tungsten or molybdenum; a sealing material made of tungsten or molybdenum connected by welding to the outer end surface of the cup electrode; and the cup electrode A low-melting-point metal layer that melts during welding between the outer end surface of the metal and the sealing material.
The low melting point metal layer is made of a glazing material which is made of a metal or alloy having a melting point lower than that of tungsten or molybdenum and can be easily melted by resistance welding. The material of the low melting point metal layer is not particularly limited as long as it has such a function, but an alloy such as cobalt (Co), cobalt (Co) -iron (Fe), cobalt (Co) -nickel (Ni), etc. Is preferable from the viewpoint of moldability and melting temperature.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the electrode member according to the first aspect, the cup electrode is made of molybdenum, and the low melting point metal layer is made of Kovar.
Kovar is an alloy made of iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), and cobalt (Co), and is formed into a layer after melting by welding.
A third aspect of the present invention is the electrode member according to the first or second aspect, wherein the low melting point metal layer has molybdenum diffused by 15 mass% or more at a position of 10 μm from the outer end face of the cup electrode or the sealing material. To do.
The sealing lead wire according to
Examples of the core wire of the external lead wire include iron (Fe) -nickel (Ni) alloy wires and iron (Fe) wires.
Resistance welding is difficult because the sealing material tungsten or molybdenum is a refractory metal. Interdiffusion occurs at the connection interface between the material and the coating layer, and the connection strength is improved by this diffusion.
The electrode member according to
The bottomed cylindrical cup electrode is preferably made of tungsten or molybdenum, but may be made of other metals such as nickel (Ni), and an emitter material may be formed. Further, the cup electrode may be integrally formed with the sealing material in addition to the one welded to the sealing material.
The cold cathode fluorescent lamp according to
According to the first aspect, since the bottomed cylindrical cup electrode made of tungsten or molybdenum and the sealing material are welded via the low melting point metal, the welding can be performed at a relatively low temperature, and the resistance. Sufficient connection strength can be ensured by welding.
According to
According to the third aspect, since the diffusion state of molybdenum in the low melting point metal layer is defined, the connection strength by welding can be ensured more reliably.
According to the fourth aspect of the present invention, an external lead in which a sealing material made of tungsten or molybdenum and a coating layer of a metal made of at least one of metals made of copper, tin, or zinc are formed on the surface of the core wire through a low melting point metal. Since the wire is welded, mutual diffusion occurs between the sealing material and the coating layer, and welding can be performed at a relatively low temperature, and sufficient connection strength can be ensured by resistance welding. .
According to the fifth aspect, since the diffusion state of molybdenum in the low melting point metal layer is defined, the connection strength by welding can be more reliably ensured.
According to

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a partial sectional view showing the cold cathode fluorescent lamp of the present embodiment, and FIG. 2 is an enlarged sectional view showing external lead wires of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp of FIG.
L is a cold cathode fluorescent lamp. For example, the power consumption of a straight tube type is 5 W or less, for example, 2.5 W. This lamp L has a tubular bulb 1 made of hard glass made of borosilicate glass (thermal expansion coefficient: about 4 × 10 −6 ) having an outer diameter of 4.0 mm, an inner diameter of about 1.6 mm, and a length of about 200 mm. Have. Both ends of the tubular bulb 1 are sealed with
On the inner wall surface of the bulb 1, a three-wavelength phosphor layer P in which phosphors having light emitting regions in blue, green, and red are mixed is formed. The bulb 1 is filled with mercury with a mixed gas of neon (Ne) and argon (Ar) of about 8000 Pa.

In order to increase the luminous efficiency of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp L, a
The fluorescent lamp L is used by being incorporated as a light source of a backlight device. The backlight device is used as a predetermined display device as a liquid crystal display device such as a personal computer or a television, and a highly efficient lighting effect is obtained. In addition, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment. For example, the
FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view showing a connection state between the
Next, the effect of this embodiment is demonstrated. Between the front end of the sealing
The electric power at the time of resistance welding was changed to 900 W, 1000 W, 1100 W, and 1200 W, and the cross-sectional state in the vicinity of the welding of the sealing
In addition, by annealing the electrode member at a temperature of 800 ° C. or higher for a long time after the welding step, it is possible to obtain an electrode member with higher connection strength by advancing the diffusion of molybdenum. For example, after performing resistance welding at 900 W and annealing at 900 ° C. for 1 hour, an electrode member with higher connection strength could be obtained. When the cross section of the electrode member before and after heating by the annealing was examined by EPMA, molybdenum was appropriately diffused in the low melting
Thus, after resistance welding, annealing can be performed at a temperature of about 800 ° C. to 1000 ° C., so that molybdenum can be appropriately diffused in the low melting
FIG. 4 is an enlarged sectional view showing a connection state between the
FIG. 5: is an expanded sectional view which shows the welding state of the sealing lead wire which is the 3rd Embodiment of this invention. This sealing lead wire is used in the cold cathode fluorescent lamp of FIG. 1, and has a feature in the welded connection portion between the sealing
The surface of the
Next, the effect of this embodiment is demonstrated. As a result of analysis of this welded portion, it is found that molybdenum in the sealing
Generally, when molybdenum is doped with a small amount of cobalt, there is an effect that the work range is expanded and properties such as tensile strength are improved. When a glazing material such as Kovar foil containing cobalt is used, molybdenum is not embrittled and the welding strength can be improved. Further, when Kovar foil is used when welding the
As a comparative example, a sealing lead wire prepared by directly welding the sealing
After the
A cold cathode fluorescent lamp was manufactured using the electrode member subjected to the antioxidant treatment, and a lighting test was performed in high temperature and high humidity (atmosphere temperature 85 ° C., humidity 85%). For the sealing lead wire of the comparative example not subjected to the antioxidant treatment, oxidation was observed after 500 hours from the start of lighting, but for those treated with this embodiment, oxidation was recognized even after 3000 hours. I couldn't. On the other hand, it was confirmed that after 3000 hours, the oxidation was progressed and the lead wire for sealing became thinner and the tensile strength was lowered after the comparative excitation.
