(In composition formula (2), A represents an alkali metal and B represents an alkaline earth metal.)
組成式(2)において、y及びzが上記範囲以外であると、クラスレート化合物が金属的な特性を示すようになり、熱電変換素子として適さなくなることがある。 In the composition formula (2), when y and z are outside the above ranges, the clathrate compound exhibits metallic characteristics and may not be suitable as a thermoelectric conversion element.

[Evaluation]
A figure of merit ZT was determined for the thermoelectric conversion element obtained by the above-described method. The figure of merit ZT can be calculated from equation (A). Here, Seebeck coefficient (alpha) and electrical conductivity (sigma) were measured by the ULVAC Riko Co., Ltd. product and the thermoelectric characteristic evaluation apparatus ZE. Moreover, thermal conductivity (kappa) was calculated | required from the product of the density measured by the volume method, the specific heat measured by DSC method, and the thermal diffusivity measured by the laser flash method. The obtained results are shown in FIG.
図1から明らかなように、実施例に係る熱電変換素子は比較例に係る熱電変換素子と比較して優れた性能指数ZT値を示すことがわかる。 As is clear from FIG. 1, it can be seen that the thermoelectric conversion element according to the example exhibits an excellent figure of merit ZT value as compared with the thermoelectric conversion element according to the comparative example.
