Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a liquid ejecting apparatus.
Conventionally, an ink jet recording apparatus is widely known as one of liquid ejecting apparatuses. In this ink jet recording apparatus, recording is performed by ejecting ink from a nozzle formed on a nozzle forming surface of a recording head toward a recording medium to form dots.
。 In general, in this type of ink jet recording apparatus, in order to reduce ink ejection failure, after the nozzle is sealed with a cap member, the ink is forcibly discharged from the nozzle, and the ink adhered to the nozzle forming surface is wiped off. Wiping for wiping with a member was performed (for example, Patent Document 1).
By the way, in order to eject ink accurately from the nozzle, it is necessary to maintain the meniscus of the ink formed on the nozzle. However, in the ink jet recording apparatus described in
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and its purpose is to reduce the amount of liquid remaining on the nozzle forming surface and to maintain the liquid meniscus formed on the nozzle. An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid ejecting apparatus capable of realizing ejection.
The liquid ejecting apparatus of the present invention is accommodated in a nozzle forming surface on which a nozzle for ejecting liquid is formed, a cap member that seals the nozzle by being in close contact with the nozzle forming surface, and the cap member. In the liquid ejecting apparatus including the liquid absorber that absorbs the liquid ejected from the nozzle, the liquid absorber is brought closer to the nozzle forming surface when the nozzle is sealed by the cap member. And a gap forming means for forming a gap between the nozzle forming surface and the liquid absorber, and the liquid absorber is configured to be non-swelling and porous.
According to this, since the liquid absorber can be brought close to the nozzle forming surface by the urging of the urging means, the liquid ejected from the nozzle can be absorbed efficiently. As a result, the residual liquid on the nozzle forming surface can be reduced. In addition, by forming an interval between the liquid absorber and the nozzle forming surface by the interval forming means, it is possible to reduce the contact of the liquid absorber with the nozzle forming surface. And it can absorb a liquid more by having formed the liquid absorber porous. Furthermore, since the liquid absorber is formed so as not to swell, the liquid absorber is not deformed by absorbing the liquid. In other words, the distance formed between the nozzle forming surface and the liquid absorber can be accurately maintained, and it does not swell and contact the nozzle. As a result, the infiltration of the liquid into the nozzle can be reduced, so that the liquid meniscus formed in the nozzle can be maintained.
The interval formed by the interval forming means of the liquid ejecting apparatus is configured such that the liquid flowing in the interval can generate convection.
According to this, the liquid flowing into the cap member flows in the interval formed between the nozzle forming surface and the liquid absorber, thereby generating convection, and the liquid that is about to adhere to the nozzle forming surface. Since the force due to the convection is applied, the liquid cannot form droplets and is separated from the nozzle forming surface. That is, by generating convection in the liquid, it is possible to reduce the liquid remaining on the nozzle forming surface. Accordingly, the possibility that the liquid remaining on the nozzle forming surface permeates into the nozzle can be reduced, so that the meniscus of the liquid formed on the nozzle can be maintained. As a result, the liquid ejecting apparatus can accurately discharge the liquid.
The interval forming unit of the liquid ejecting apparatus forms the interval by contacting the nozzle forming surface, and the liquid ejecting apparatus is configured such that the interval forming unit contacts the nozzle forming surface. Thus, a stress absorbing means for absorbing stress applied from the nozzle forming surface is provided.
According to this, the stress from the nozzle forming surface is absorbed by the stress absorbing means. For this reason, the space | interval formation means can contact | abut to a nozzle formation surface with a fixed pressure. Thereby, the space | interval of a nozzle formation surface and a liquid absorber can be formed correctly. Furthermore, since the load applied to the nozzle forming surface can be reduced by contacting with a constant pressure, the meniscus of the liquid formed on the nozzle can be maintained.
The biasing unit and the stress absorbing unit of the liquid ejecting apparatus are spring members that are accommodated in the cap member and support the liquid absorber.
According to this, the liquid absorber is biased by the spring member. Further, since the space forming means abuts on the nozzle in order to form a space between the liquid absorber and the nozzle forming surface, the stress applied from the nozzle forming surface is absorbed by the spring member. The Therefore, for example, the urging means and the stress absorbing means may be configured as one spring member such as a leaf spring. In addition, the biasing means and the stress absorbing means may be configured as separate spring members.
The cap member of the liquid ejecting apparatus includes a discharge port for discharging the liquid flowing into the cap member, and the liquid absorber is biased by the spring member so that the liquid absorber is urged. A liquid guide means for connecting the liquid absorber and the discharge port is provided in a space formed between the lower surface of the cap member and the bottom surface of the cap member.
According to this, the liquid absorbed by the liquid absorber can be discharged at the discharge port via the liquid guide means. As a result, the liquid flowing into the cap member and absorbed by the liquid absorber can be efficiently discharged, so that the possibility of leakage from the cap member can be reduced.
The interval forming means of the liquid ejecting apparatus is a convex portion formed integrally with the liquid absorber.
According to this, the liquid absorber can form a space between the liquid absorber and the nozzle forming surface by bringing the convex portion into contact with the nozzle forming surface. In addition, by forming the convex portion integrally with the liquid absorber, the number of members of the liquid ejecting apparatus can be reduced, and the production cost of the liquid ejecting apparatus can be reduced.
The convex portion of the liquid ejecting apparatus is less rigid than the nozzle forming surface.
According to this, since the convex portion forms an interval between the liquid absorber and the nozzle formation surface, it is possible to reduce a load applied to the nozzle formation surface when contacting the nozzle formation surface. it can. Thereby, deformation of the nozzle forming surface can be prevented, and a liquid meniscus formed on the nozzle can be maintained.
The convex portion of the liquid ejecting apparatus is formed at a position on the upper surface of the absorber and not directly in contact with the nozzle on the nozzle forming surface.
According to this, it is possible to reduce the possibility that the liquid absorbed by the liquid absorber enters the nozzle through the convex portion. As a result, the meniscus formed on the nozzle can be maintained, so that the liquid ejecting apparatus can eject liquid accurately.
Hereinafter, an embodiment embodying the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view for explaining an outline of the printer of the present embodiment.
As shown in FIG. 1, a
A
A
On the other hand, a
The
In the
A
Next, the configuration of the
FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view for explaining the configuration of the
As shown in FIG. 2, the
The
On the other hand, a
As shown in FIG. 3, the
Further, the
The
Further, the
Further, when the
On the other hand, the
As described above, the
Next, the effect | action of the
As shown in FIG. 5, the
As shown in FIG. 6, when the ink discharge amount from the nozzle N is larger than the suction amount of the
Next, as shown in FIG. 7, when the ejection of ink from the nozzle N is stopped, the ink absorbed by the
