Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a light emitting device and a method for manufacturing the same.
Conventionally, various light-emitting devices have been used in lighting applications. Recently, light-emitting diodes capable of emitting white light have attracted attention. As a light emitting diode capable of emitting white light, it is excited by absorbing a light emitting element that emits light of a short wavelength such as blue light or near ultraviolet light, and part or all of the light emitted from the light emitting element. And a light emitting diode including a substance that emits fluorescence having a wavelength longer than that of light emitted from the light emitting element.
For example, in Patent Document 1, as such a light emitting diode, an element that emits blue light and a yttrium-aluminum-activated cerium that absorbs blue light and emits yellow fluorescence that is a complementary color of blue are disclosed. A white light emitting diode comprising a garnet-based powdered fluorescent material is disclosed.

In FIG. 2,

In FIG. 3,
In the
Conventionally, in order to realize desired light emission in a light emitting diode, a powdered fluorescent material is uniformly dispersed in a resin part (
Further, if the particle size of the powdered fluorescent material is too large, it is difficult to uniformly disperse the resin portion surrounding the light emitting element. For example, as a powdery fluorescent substance, powdery alpha sialon in which calcium disclosed in Patent Document 6 is dissolved and europium is activated is prepared, and this is classified and used with a particle size of 45 μm or less. When a light emitting diode was manufactured according to the manufacturing method disclosed in Patent Document 4, a light emitting diode emitting desired light could not be obtained. As the cause thereof, as shown in FIG. 4, the
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a light emitting device capable of desired light emission using a powdered fluorescent material having a particle size of several tens of μm or more, and a method for manufacturing the same. In order to solve the above problems, the present invention has one electrode electrically connected to at least two lead frames and a recess provided in at least one end portion of the lead frames, and A light emitting element in which the other electrode is electrically connected to the bonding wire; and at least part of the light emitted from the light emitting element is absorbed, and fluorescence having a wavelength different from the wavelength of the light emitted from the light emitting element is emitted. In the method for manufacturing a light emitting device, the step D includes forming an adhesive layer on the surface of the first resin portion, spraying the powdered fluorescent substance on the adhesive layer, and then curing the adhesive layer. It is preferable that the step is a step of fixing the powdery fluorescent substance to the surface of the first resin portion via the adhesive layer.
In the light emitting device manufacturing method, the light emitting element is preferably an element that emits blue light, and the powdery fluorescent substance is a substance that absorbs blue light and emits yellow fluorescence.
In the method for manufacturing a light emitting device, the powdered fluorescent material is preferably alpha sialon.
In the method for manufacturing a light-emitting device, the alpha sialon is preferably one in which calcium is dissolved and europium is activated.
In the method for manufacturing a light emitting device, the powdery fluorescent material preferably includes particles having a particle size of 20 μm or more.
The light-emitting device of the present invention includes at least a first resin portion that surrounds the light-emitting element and does not include a powdered fluorescent material, and a second resin portion that surrounds the first resin portion and the end portion of the lead frame. Since the powdered fluorescent material is arranged so that at least a part thereof is in contact with the surface of the first resin portion, even if the particle size of the powdered fluorescent material is as large as several tens of μm, Since the powdered fluorescent material is uniformly disposed almost uniformly at the position surrounding the light emitting element, the luminance of the fluorescence can be further increased.
In the method for manufacturing a light emitting device of the present invention, at least a light emitting element is surrounded by a first resin, the first resin is cured to form a first resin portion, and a powdery fluorescent material is formed on the surface of the first resin portion. After attaching and fixing at least a part of the substance, the first resin part, the end of the lead frame, and the powdered fluorescent substance are surrounded by the second resin, and the second resin is cured to be the second resin. Therefore, even if the particle size of the powdered fluorescent material is as large as several tens of μm, the powdered fluorescent material can be uniformly distributed almost uniformly in the position surrounding the light emitting element. . Therefore, in the past, the powdered fluorescent material was used after being pulverized and classified by a sufficiently small particle size (about several μm), but in the present invention, this pulverization step and classification step are omitted or simplified. As a result, the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
Hereinafter, a light emitting device embodying the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a schematic view showing a light emitting diode as an embodiment of a light emitting device according to the present invention.
In FIG. 1,
The
In the
Moreover, it is desirable that the
As the
As the
As the
As the
As the powdery
Further, the powdered
As the resin constituting the
As the resin constituting the
Next, an embodiment of a method for manufacturing a light emitting device according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
In this embodiment, first, the
Next, the electrode provided on the upper surface of the
Next, the
Next, at least a part of the powdered
The powdery
Next, the end portion of the
In this embodiment, the
In addition, the
Further, in the above step D, in addition to a method of spraying an appropriate amount of the powdered
EXAMPLES Hereinafter, although an Example demonstrates this invention further more concretely, this invention is not limited to a following example.
