Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a configuration of a radiographic imaging apparatus that detects an intensity distribution of radiation such as X-rays transmitted through a subject such as a human body using an image detector.
A so-called film / screen method is known as a first means for obtaining a radiographic image of a subject. This film / screen method is the most common. In this method, a fluorescent plate made of a rare earth that emits light when irradiated with X-rays is held in close contact with both sides of the photosensitive film. X-rays transmitted through the object are converted into visible light by the phosphor, and the visible light forms a latent image on the photosensitive film, and the latent image is developed and visualized by the developing means.
On the other hand, a so-called computed radiography (CR) method has been put into practical use as a second method for obtaining a radiographic image of a subject. In this computed radiography method, the intensity distribution (radiation image) of the radiation that has passed through the subject is temporarily stored as a latent image in the phosphor, and then the phosphor is irradiated with excitation light. The latent image is read out. For example, when a certain type of phosphor is irradiated with radiation such as X-rays, α-rays, β-rays, γ-rays, electron beams, and ultraviolet rays, a part of the energy of the radiation is accumulated, and then visible light or the like. When the excitation light is irradiated, stimulated light emission corresponding to the accumulated energy is exhibited.
A radiation image information recording / reproducing system using such a storage phosphor or a phosphor called a stimulable phosphor is disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 55-12429 or Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 56-11395. ing. In this system, radiation image information of a subject is temporarily recorded on a stimulable phosphor sheet, and then the stimulable phosphor sheet is scanned with excitation light such as laser light to generate stimulated emission light. Then, an image signal is obtained by photoelectrically reading the obtained stimulated emission light, and based on this image signal, a recording device using a recording material such as a photographic photosensitive material or a display device such as a CRT is used. Visualize the radiographic image of the subject.
As a third method for obtaining a radiographic image of a subject, there is a method of using a semiconductor sensor (also referred to as a semiconductor image detector or a solid-state imaging device) that has been developed along with recent progress in semiconductor manufacturing process technology. . In this radiographic imaging system using this semiconductor sensor, the intensity distribution of the radiation transmitted through the subject is read by a photoelectric conversion means having a wide dynamic range and converted into an electrical signal, and then the recording device or display is based on this electrical signal. A radiographic image is output as a visible image using an apparatus or the like. Since semiconductor sensors have a wide dynamic range and can detect a wide range of radiation doses, radiographic imaging systems that use semiconductor sensors are less susceptible to fluctuations in radiation exposure and always obtain good radiation images. Can do. This system has the advantage that it can detect radiographic images with a very wide range of radiation intensity distribution compared to the film / screen system described above.
FIG. 8 shows a radiographic imaging system using the above-described semiconductor sensor as an example of a conventional radiographic imaging system. The radiographic image capturing apparatus 801 carrying the subject S incorporates a radiographic image detection unit 802 having a detection surface configured by arranging a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements in a matrix. For example, radiation emitted from a radiation generation unit 803 that generates radiation such as X-rays is detected by the radiation image detection unit 802 after passing through the subject 706. The image signal output from the radiation image detection unit 802 is subjected to digital image processing in the image processing unit 804 and then displayed as a visualized radiation image of the subject 806 on the monitor (display unit) 805. In addition, although X-ray was illustrated here as a radiation, a radiation is not necessarily restricted to an X-ray.
Next, a radiographic image detection unit 802 having a detection surface formed by arranging a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements arranged in a matrix in the radiographic image capturing apparatus 801 of FIG. 8 will be described with reference to FIG.
FIG. 9 is a schematic diagram of the configuration of the radiation image detection unit 802, and
After the charge of the
In the above-described conventional example, the detector is exchanged from the support mechanism of the detector, or various characteristics of the detector are switched by moving different detectors, so that the operation is complicated or time is required for switching. For this reason, there are problems such as being unable to respond to an instantaneous switching request and requiring a plurality of detectors, resulting in an expensive apparatus.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention according to
As described above, the X-ray imaging apparatus according to the present invention can perform imaging which has been conventionally performed by two apparatuses by combining a single detection unit having different characteristics. In addition, since the sensor characteristics can be switched without exchanging the detection unit, the burden on the operator is reduced, and at the same time, rapid photographing is performed, and the burden on the pessimist can be reduced. In addition, it is possible to optimally design the detection units having different characteristics, and it is possible to provide each detection unit with an optimal specification member with no excess or deficiency. Thus, an imaging apparatus that is inexpensive and has good operability can be provided.
The present invention will be described in detail based on the embodiment shown in FIGS. In the following embodiments, a medical imaging apparatus (X-ray imaging apparatus) for imaging a subject using X-rays will be described as an example of the radiographic imaging apparatus of the present invention. Can be applied to an X-ray imaging apparatus for imaging other subjects or an imaging apparatus using other radiation.
1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are diagrams for explaining a first embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 1 is a partial configuration diagram of an X-ray image detection unit. FIG. 2 is a schematic layout diagram of the detection unit. 3 is a perspective view of an X-ray imaging apparatus using the detection unit of FIGS. 1 and 2, FIG. 4 is a schematic configuration diagram of a system to which the X-ray imaging apparatus of FIG. 3 is connected, and FIG. It is a flowchart.
First, the configuration of a part of the detector of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The X-ray
First, the configuration of the
As in the conventional example, the charge of the
Next, the configuration of the
Here, in the
The
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing the configuration, and shows a part of the detection unit. Next, the overall schematic arrangement of the
On the other hand, the
Further, both the
Next, the configuration of the

The
In addition, a scattered radiation removal grid (not shown) can be inserted into the X-ray

The imaging procedure of the X-ray imaging apparatus 201 will be described in further detail using the flowchart of FIG. The operator selects an imaging mode according to the subject and purpose prior to imaging, inputs from the
First, the case where the large visual field mode is selected will be described. The subject 304 and the X-ray
Through the above procedure, a large field of view of 43 cm × 43 cm can be observed with a pixel pitch of 400 μm and a frame rate of 30 fps.
Next, the case where the small visual field mode is selected will be described. After aligning the subject and the X-ray
Through the above procedure, a small visual field of 28 cm × 28 cm can be observed with a fine pixel pitch of 200 μm and a frame rate of 30 fps.
As described above, according to the configuration of the first embodiment, fluoroscopic imaging and circulatory imaging that have been performed by two different apparatuses can be performed by one apparatus. Moreover, each shooting can be performed with optimum specifications. By sharing an expensive detector, an inexpensive and highly efficient device can be provided.
6 and 7 are perspective views for explaining a second embodiment of the present invention.
FIG. 6 shows a form when mammography is performed. The X-ray
X-ray generation (not shown) is taken at a desired distance on an axis perpendicular to a detection unit (not shown) of the X
FIG. 7 shows a state in which the
X-ray generation (not shown) is arranged at a desired distance on an axis perpendicular to a detection unit (not shown) of the X
A region other than the region immediately below the
As described above, according to the configuration of the second embodiment, it is possible to perform mammography and general imaging, which could only be performed by two different apparatuses so far, by one apparatus. Moreover, each shooting can be performed with optimum specifications. By sharing an expensive detector, an inexpensive and highly efficient device can be provided.
Needless to say, the X-ray imaging apparatuses of the first and second embodiments described above can be variously modified without departing from the scope of the claims.
For example, an example of a ceiling-suspended universal arm, a mammography apparatus, and a standing position imaging apparatus has been described. However, other imaging apparatuses may be used. For example, it may be a photographing device having a C-arm and a tiltable bed, a mobile C-arm photographing device, a portable electronic cassette, or the like.
Although an example of a detection unit having two regions having different pixel pitches is shown, a combination of detection units having different frame rates and different sensitivities at the same pixel pitch may be used. For example, a pixel pitch of 200 μm may be common, and a 30 fps region of 28 cm × 28 cm may be provided in the center, and a 7.5 fps region may be arranged around the outer periphery of 43 cm × 43 cm.
A combination for video and still images may be used. For example, a pixel pitch of 150 μm may be common, and a 30 fps region of 28 cm × 28 cm may be provided in the center, and a region only for still image shooting may be arranged around the outermost periphery of 43 cm × 43 cm.
