Description

The present invention relates to a bicycle pedal attaching / detaching device for easily attaching / detaching a bicycle pedal to / from a pedal crank.

When practicing riding a bicycle, the pedal may be removed so that both feet can be easily put on the ground. In other words, the steering wheel operation is performed while running at a low speed while the foot is placed on the ground, so as to learn how to balance. In such practice, it is desirable to remove the pedal so that the pedal does not interfere with the foot.

When delivering a new bicycle to a bicycle dealer, the pedal may be removed and stored in a storage box. This is because the storage box can be made small in this way, transporting is facilitated, and the storage space is reduced, which is convenient.

Furthermore, when the bicycle is put in a storeroom or the like, if the pedal can be easily removed, the storage space is advantageously reduced.

In order to make the pedal easily attachable / detachable as described above, those shown in Patent Documents 1 and 2 have been proposed. In Patent Document 1, a pedal holder (pedal receiving cylinder) is screwed into a rotating end of a pedal crank, and a pedal shaft (pedal support shaft) is inserted into the pedal receiver so as to be provided at the tip of the pedal shaft. A structure in which a curled locking ring 14 is locked in a circumferential groove (annular groove) is shown. In Cited Document 2, a locking body is mounted on the inner side (inner peripheral surface) of a cylinder attached to the pedal crank, and the pedal is cranked by engaging the locking body with a pedal shaft inserted into the cylinder. What is fixed to is shown.

In Patent Document 1, a pair of semicircular arc-shaped engaging portions sandwiching an annular circumferential groove from both sides is attached and detached with a locking ring in which one wire is bent into a substantially Ω shape. The locking ring is integrally formed with a retaining latch, and the retaining latch is grasped with a fingertip and attached or detached. That is, a pedal fixing tool (case) is fixed to the pedal crank, and a locking stopper integrated with the locking ring is inserted into and removed from a storage portion provided in the pedal fixing tool in parallel with the pedal crank.

In this case, when inserting and removing the retaining latch, it is necessary to expand the retaining ring once in the annular circumferential groove, and a large force is required. For this reason, it is necessary to work by separately gripping the pedal fixing tool (case) and the retaining locking tool with the left and right hands, and there is a problem that workability is poor. In particular, in this state, it is very inconvenient to insert and remove the pedal shaft into and from the pedal holder and may require the assistance of another person. In addition, when the pedal is removed, the retaining stopper is loosened, and there is a problem that it is easily lost due to vibration during traveling.

In Patent Document 2, in order to securely hold the pedal shaft by engaging the locking body mounted on the inner side of the cylinder with the pedal shaft, the locking body is pressed in the inner diameter direction with a strong force. There is a need to. For example, when this locking body is pressed by a leaf spring, a large force is required to attach and detach the pedal shaft, and workability is deteriorated. Further, when the locking body is pressed by a ring that slides in the axial direction, this ring must be disposed between the crank and the pedal, so that there arises a problem that the distance between the crank and the pedal is widened.

The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and it is easy to attach and detach the pedal, and the operability is good, there is no risk of losing parts, and there is no need to widen the distance between the pedal and the crank. An object is to provide an apparatus.

According to the present invention, an object of the present invention is to provide a bicycle pedal attachment / detachment device for detachably attaching a pedal to a bicycle pedal crank. A case having a guide housing portion between a cylindrical pedal receiving cylinder to be screwed in and a rotating end of the pedal crank and an inner surface of the rotating end, and the pedal receiving cylinder penetrating the pedal receiving cylinder A pedal support shaft in which an annular groove is formed on the outer periphery of the projecting end projecting inward in the vehicle width direction, a pedal rotatably held on the pedal support shaft, and a projection of the pedal support shaft housed in the guide housing portion A guide plate that is engaged with the end and held between the inner surface of the guide storage portion and the guide plate, is guided by the guide plate and is slidable in a mutually opposing direction, and is an annular groove of the pedal support shaft Disengage A pair of stopper plates having a substantially half-moon engaging claw portion and an operation portion protruding from the case in a direction in which the engaging claw portion engages with the annular groove, and the pair of stopper plates with the engaging claw portion. A bicycle pedal attaching / detaching device comprising: a spring that engages with the annular groove and urges the operating portion in a direction to protrude from the case.

The pair of stopper plates slide in opposite directions, and their operation parts protrude from the case. If these operation parts are slid so as to approach each other with one hand, a semicircular engagement claw part Escapes from the annular groove, and the pedal support shaft can be removed from the pedal receiving cylinder using the other hand. That is, the pedal can be easily and easily removed from the pedal crank by one person.

In order to attach the removed pedal to the crank, the operation parts of the pair of stoppers are slid so as to be close to each other with the fingertips of one hand, and the pedal support shaft is inserted into the pedal receiving cylinder in this state. If the fingertip is released from the operation section with the pedal support shaft pushed in to the end, the stopper plate is restored by the spring, the half-moon-shaped engagement claw is engaged with the annular groove, and the pedal support shaft is engaged with the crank. Fixed. Therefore, one person can work easily.

Since the stopper plate is always stored in the case, it cannot be removed when the pedal is attached or detached. For this reason, there is no possibility of losing the stopper or the like. Further, since the stopper, the guide plate, and the like are inside the pedal crank in the vehicle width direction, it is not necessary to increase the distance between the pedal and the pedal crank. For this reason, the distance between the left and right pedals is not increased and it is not difficult to ride.

The annular groove formed in the pedal support shaft is a square groove with a square cross section, and the end of the engaging claw portion of the stopper plate engaged therewith is a square cross section that engages with this square groove. Even if a large impact is applied in the direction, there is no possibility that the engaging claw part will unexpectedly escape from the annular groove.

The spring may be assembled to the guide plate as a separate body from the guide plate. For example, the leaf spring can be bent and assembled to the guide plate. However, the guide plate may be made of synthetic resin and the spring may be integrally formed thereon. For example, a plate-like spring inclined obliquely with respect to the sliding direction of the stopper plate is integrally formed with the guide plate, and a cam is formed on the stopper plate so as to slide on the spring. While the plate-like spring is tilted, the stopper plate can be returned by the restoring force of the plate-like spring. If the spring is integrally formed with the guide plate in this way, it is not necessary to prepare a separate spring, and the number of parts can be reduced and the assemblability can be improved.

The case can be divided in the vehicle width direction, and can be fixed with a plurality of screws on the outer (half pedal) case half and the inner case half. In this case, a guide plate, a stopper plate, and the like can be assembled before assembling the inner case half, so that the assemblability is improved. The assembly in which the outer case half and the inner case half are joined is mounted on the pedal crank from its rotating end side, and when the pedal receiving cylinder is screwed onto the pedal crank, the inner case half is attached to the pedal receiving cylinder and the pedal crank. Hold by holding. If a dust-proof thin plate is brought into close contact with the surface of the guide plate facing the pedal crank, dust, sand, dust, muddy water and the like entering the case are less likely to adhere to the guide plate. For this reason, the stopper plate can be smoothly slid over a long period of time.

1 is a front view showing an embodiment of the present invention without a pedal, FIG. 2 is a left side view, FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view showing a part of the pedal attaching / detaching device, and FIG. 5 is a side sectional view, FIG. 6 is a view showing a stopper plate position where the pedal support shaft is detachable, FIG. 7 is a sectional view taken along the line VII-VII of FIG. FIG. 9 is a view showing the position of a stopper plate for fixing the pedal support shaft, and FIG. 9 is a sectional view taken along the line IX-IX of the main part.

In these drawings, reference numeral 10 denotes a pedal crank, and 12 denotes a pedal attached to the rotating end of the pedal crank 10. The pedal crank 10 is fixed to the left and right ends of a crankshaft (not shown) held by a bicycle bottom racket (not shown) with a phase difference of 180 ° from each other. A pedal 12 is attached to each of the pair of left and right pedal cranks 10, and rotation of the crankshaft is transmitted to the rear wheels via a chain, a belt, or the like.

Here, the pedal 12 is rotatably held by the pedal support shaft 14, while the pedal support shaft 14 is detachably attached to the pedal crank 10 by the pedal attaching / detaching device according to the present invention. In this pedal attachment / detachment device, a pedal receiving cylinder 16 screwed into a pedal mounting hole 10 a at a rotating end of a pedal crank 10 and a pedal support shaft 14 inserted into the pedal receiving cylinder 16 are fixed to the pedal receiving cylinder 16. And a locking mechanism 18 that performs.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the pedal receiving cylinder 16 is formed by integrally forming a nut portion at one end of the cylindrical portion, and a pedal mounting hole 10 a provided in the pedal crank 10 with a male screw formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion. Can be screwed in from the outside in the vehicle width direction. The pedal support shaft 14 is provided with a flange portion 14a (FIGS. 1, 4 and 5) located on the inner side in the vehicle width direction of the pedal 12, and a portion on the inner side in the vehicle width direction from the flange portion 14a is fitted in the pedal receiving cylinder 16. It has a matching outer diameter and is longer than the pedal receiving cylinder 16.

An annular groove 14 b is formed on the outer periphery of the inner end of the pedal support shaft 14, that is, on the outer periphery of the portion protruding from the pedal receiver cylinder 16 when inserted into the pedal receiver cylinder 16. The annular groove 14b is a square groove having a square cross section as shown in FIGS.

The lock mechanism 18 includes a case 20 composed of a pair of case halves 20a, 20b, a dust-proof thin plate 22 accommodated in the case 20, a resin layer guide plate 24, and a pair of left and right stopper plates 26, 26. And have. As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the outer case half 20a is formed so as to surround the tip of the pedal crank 10 except for its inner surface, and the tip of the pedal crank 10 is covered by covering the inner case half 20b. I will wrap it. The inner case half 20 b is fixed to the outer case half 20 a by the four screws 28 together with the guide plate 24.

The pedal receiving cylinder 16 penetrates in the vicinity of the center of the outer surface of the outer case half 20a. When the pedal receiving cylinder 16 is screwed into the pedal crank 10, the outer case half 20a becomes the nut portion of the pedal receiving cylinder 16. And the pedal crank 10.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, the inner case half 20 b is a substantially weight type whose peripheral edge is bent outward, and is located on the side edge (herein, the left and right side edges) substantially parallel to the pedal crank 10. It has the recessed parts 30 and 30 depressed. The recesses 30 and 30 are formed with notches 32 and 32 (FIGS. 4 and 7) that open toward the mating surface with the outer case half 20a. The inside of the case half 20b serves as a guide storage portion for storing a guide plate 24 and a stopper plate 26 described later.

As shown in FIGS. 4, 6, and 8, the guide plate 24 is formed in a shape that engages in the inner case half 20 b. The guide plate 24 is formed with a guide groove 34 (FIG. 4) continuous with the notches 32, 32 of the inner case half 20b so as to cross in the left-right direction. The guide plate 24 is made of a resin such as polypropylene having moderate elasticity, and four plate-like springs 36 are integrally formed above and below the guide groove 34 so as to protrude substantially in the center direction ( Figures 4, 6, 8).

The stopper plates 26 and 26 are combined symmetrically and accommodated in the guide groove 34, and are slidably loaded between the guide plate 24 and the inner case half 20b in the opposite direction. One end of the stopper plate 26 protrudes outward from the notch 32 of the inner case half 20 b, and this protruding portion serves as an operation portion 38.

The stopper plate 26 is formed with an opening 40 through which the tip (protruding end) of the pedal support shaft 14 passes, and a part of the opening 40, that is, a portion far from the operation portion 38 is engaged with the annular groove 14b. A claw portion 42 is formed. In addition, saw-tooth cams 44 and 44 are formed on the upper and lower edges of the stopper plate 26 to engage with the spring 36 of the guide plate 24 from below and above. As a result, due to the engagement between the spring 36 and the cam 44, the stopper plate 26 is given a return habit in the direction of protruding outward.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, the thin plate 22 is in close contact with the surface of the guide plate 24 that faces the pedal crank and prevents dust, sand, and muddy water from entering the periphery of the guide plate 24. That is, even if dust or muddy water enters the case 20 through the gap between the case 20 and the pedal crank 10, the thin plate 22 does not deteriorate the slidability of the stopper plate 26. A drain hole 46 (FIGS. 4 and 5) is formed at the bottom of the outer case half 20a.

In this embodiment, if the operation portions 38, 38 of the stopper plates 26, 26 are pressed between the thumb and index finger of one hand so as to approach each other, the cams 44 of the stopper plates 26, 26 push and bend the spring 36 to each other. Slides closer together, increasing the overlap of openings 40, 40. The pedal support shaft 14 can enter and exit from the overlapping portion of the openings 40 and 40. When the pedal 12 is attached, the pedal support shaft 14 is passed through the overlapping portion of the openings 40, 40 to weaken the force of the finger pressing the operating portions 38, 38. Then, the stopper plates 26 and 26 are pushed back by the restoring force of the spring 36, and the engaging claws 42 and 42 are engaged with the annular groove 14 b of the pedal support shaft 14. For this reason, the pedal 12 is fixed to the pedal crank 10.

In order to remove the pedal 12, the operation portions 38, 38 of the stopper plates 26, 26 are simultaneously pushed. By this operation, the engaging claws 42 of the stopper plates 26, 26 are escaped from the annular groove 14 b, and the overlap of the openings 40, 40 is enlarged so that the pedal support shaft 14 can be removed from the pedal receiving cylinder 16. That is, the pedal 12 can be removed from the lock mechanism 18.

In the first embodiment, when the pedal support shaft 14 is attached, the operation portions 38 and 38 of the stopper plates 26 and 26 are sandwiched between the thumb and the index finger in a direction approaching each other. However, as shown in FIGS. 4, 5, 7, and 9, the pedal support shaft 14 is fixed by chamfering the peripheral edge of the tip (inner end) of the pedal support shaft 14 into a conical surface 48 or a tapered surface. It can be further simplified.

In this case, by strongly pushing the pedal support shaft 14 into the pedal receiving cylinder 16, the engaging claws 42, 42 of the stopper plates 26, 26 can be pushed open by the conical surface 48, and the pedal support shaft 14 is moved in this state. By further pushing, the engaged claw portions 42, 42 that are pushed open can be engaged with the annular groove 14b.
