Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus for photographing a stereoscopic image to be displayed using a lenticular lens, a lens sheet, or a special backlight.
Conventionally, in order to create a stereoscopic image to be displayed using a lenticular lens, a subject is photographed using a plurality of cameras placed at a predetermined distance in the horizontal direction, and the captured images are processed. There are a method of separating and rearranging them into vertical stripes, and a method of superimposing a lenticular lens on photographic paper and projecting and printing a plurality of images taken in the same way through the lenticular lens.
In addition, there is integral photography as a method of taking a 3D image displayed using a lens sheet, but in order to solve the problem of reversing perspective, it is necessary to replay the taken image and take it again. It is cumbersome and has not spread widely.
An object of the present invention is to realize a three-dimensional image photographing apparatus that can create a three-dimensional image to be displayed by using a lenticular lens or a lens sheet by a single photographing, and further displays by a device disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2001-311909. It is also possible to create a stereoscopic image to be created by a single shooting.
In order to solve these problems, the present inventor has already proposed the methods shown in Japanese Patent Application Nos. 2002-112824 and 2003-175775. This method showed good results especially in shooting using a silver halide photographic film with a large area, and was able to take a highly expressive 3D photograph that can display a natural 3D image, but the amount of information that can be recorded is small It has been difficult to obtain sufficient image quality with an instant photograph, a digital camera, or a video camera. If the amount of information increases as technology advances in the future, practical digital images can be taken with these digital cameras and video cameras, but it will soon be difficult to put into practical use.
As a result of further investigations, a new stereoscopic image capturing device has been devised that improves image quality at the expense of the naturalness of expression as a stereoscopic image. According to the stereoscopic image photographing apparatus of the present invention, it is possible to photograph a lenticular stereoscopic photograph that has been conventionally photographed using a plurality of cameras and further requires a post-process without requiring a post-process with a single camera. . In addition, stereoscopic images similar to integral photography can be taken directly in one step with a correct perspective image.
Furthermore, according to the present invention, a stereoscopic image displayed by an apparatus using a special backlight disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2001-311909 can be directly photographed in one step by one camera.
The stereoscopic image photographed by the present invention records and reproduces an image viewed from multiple viewpoints. Therefore, the number of viewpoints can be adjusted according to the amount of information that can be recorded, so that the image quality is not extremely deteriorated even with a medium with a small amount of information such as a digital camera or a video camera.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing an optical system of a stereoscopic image photographing apparatus according to
In this way, images of two viewpoints arranged alternately are stereoscopic images corresponding to the left and right eyes, and for example, the
In addition, this stereoscopic image can be displayed on a display device using the backlight of FIG. This is the same as the display device disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2001-311909, and displays a three-dimensional image by placing the photographed
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the lens 2 of the camera means the position of the viewpoint for viewing the stereoscopic image, and the
In the apparatus shown in FIGS. 1 and 8, by using a transparent plate having a different prism shape instead of the
In this way, an image in which multi-viewpoint images are alternately arranged can be displayed as a stereoscopic image by the apparatus shown in FIG. In this case, one cylindrical lens may correspond to four stripe-shaped images corresponding to one period. This photographed image has properties similar to those of the negative line drawing three-dimensional images described in Japanese Patent Application Nos. 2002-112824 and 2003-175775, and can also be displayed by the three-dimensional image display device disclosed in the patent. .
FIG. 10 is an example of a transparent plate used in the three-dimensional image capturing apparatus of
The image taken in this way can be displayed as a stereoscopic image by the apparatus shown in FIG. In this case, one line 14 for diffusing and reflecting light may correspond to four stripe-shaped images corresponding to one period. This photographed image has properties similar to those of the positive line drawing three-dimensional images described in Japanese Patent Application Nos. 2002-112824 and 2003-175775, and can be displayed by the three-dimensional image display device disclosed in the patent. .
When a digital camera or a video camera is used in the stereoscopic image capturing apparatus according to
FIG. 11 is a perspective view of a transparent plate used in the stereoscopic image photographing apparatus according to
In this way, images in which the four viewpoints are alternately arranged vertically and horizontally can be displayed as a stereoscopic image by superimposing the
In addition, the three-dimensional image can be displayed on the display device shown in FIG. 6 by replacing the lines 14 that diffusely reflect the light formed on the
FIG. 12A is a perspective view of a transparent plate used in the three-dimensional image photographing apparatus of
Such multi-viewpoint images alternately arranged in a grid pattern can also be displayed as a stereoscopic image by the apparatus shown in FIG. In this case, one convex lens may correspond to an image of three rows and four columns that hits the unit concave portion. This photographed image has properties similar to the negative stippled stereoscopic image described in Japanese Patent Application Nos. 2002-112824 and 2003-175775, and can be displayed by the stereoscopic image display device disclosed in the patent. .
FIG. 12B is a perspective view of a transparent plate used in the stereoscopic image capturing apparatus of
In this way, the multi-viewpoint images alternately arranged in a grid pattern are replaced with dots in the display device of FIG. 6, which diffuses and reflects the light formed on the
When a digital camera or a video camera is used in the three-dimensional image capturing apparatus according to

FIG. 14 is a plan view showing an embodiment of the eighth aspect. Here, the transparent plate 25 is the same as the
The stereoscopic image capturing apparatus described above captures a multi-viewpoint image using a transparent plate having a prism surface on one side. In the stereoscopic image capturing apparatus according to
FIG. 15 is a perspective view of an optical system of a stereoscopic image photographing apparatus according to claim 13 of the present invention. In this embodiment, 3 × 4 = 12 planes having different slopes are arranged in units so as to form a dome-shaped convex portion, and the reflecting

In the three-dimensional image capturing apparatus of the present invention, what is described as a single lens is not limited to a single lens, but may of course be a combined lens composed of a plurality of lenses. When the present invention is applied to still image shooting, what is shot with a digital camera can be printed out with a high-quality printer and placed in a photo frame provided with a lenticular lens or lens sheet to enjoy a stereoscopic photo.
