Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical filter for a plasma display panel used by being attached to the front surface of a plasma display panel main body.
Conventionally, an optical filter is attached to a plasma display panel (hereinafter also referred to as “PDP”) in order to improve the function of the PDP. Such an optical filter for PDP is required to have the following functions (1) to (5). (1) Giving mechanical strength to a thin film glass PDP body, (2) shielding electromagnetic waves emitted from the PDP, (3) shielding infrared rays emitted from the PDP, particularly near infrared rays, and (4) external light Anti-reflection, (5) color tone correction.
The PDP optical filter is formed by laminating a plurality of layers each having the functions (1) to (5). Specifically, a transparent substrate such as glass is used for the purpose of imparting mechanical strength to the PDP body, a conductive film for the purpose of shielding electromagnetic waves, an infrared absorbing film for shielding infrared rays, and antireflection of external light. Therefore, an antireflection film is used, and a layer containing a dye having absorption in the visible light region is used for the purpose of color tone correction.
The antireflection film constituting a part of the optical filter for PDP is manufactured using a resin film having a low refractive index, specifically an amorphous fluoropolymer, because the manufacturing process is easy. Resin films are widely used. An optical film for PDP including an antireflection film using such a fluoropolymer is disclosed in, for example,
The performance required for PDPs is becoming stricter year by year, and the requirements for optical filters for PDPs are becoming higher. For example, an optical filter for PDP that plays a role of protecting the PDP main body is required to have higher hardness in order to prevent damage. For this reason, there is a demand for a higher hardness of the antireflection layer, which is a constituent element of the PDP optical filter, and the antireflection layer is formed of a material having a hardness higher than that of a conventional resin antireflection layer. Is being considered.
As such an antireflection layer having excellent hardness, there is a layer in which two or more layers having different refractive indexes are laminated using a sputtering method, and reflection is reduced by utilizing interference due to a difference in refractive index between the layers. is there. A PDP display panel including such an antireflection film is disclosed in, for example,
Further, as a demand for PDP, there is a demand for better image characteristics, specifically, higher contrast and higher color. Such a requirement is achieved by providing a PDP optical filter with a color tone correction layer containing a dye that selectively absorbs visible light having a specific wavelength. Furthermore, the optical filter for PDP is required to shield near infrared rays in order to prevent malfunction of a remote controller or the like. Such a demand is achieved by providing a near-infrared absorbing layer containing a dye that selectively absorbs near-infrared rays in the optical filter for PDP. Some dyes that selectively absorb visible light or near-infrared light are prone to photodegradation.
In an optical filter for PDP in which an antireflection film such as the optical film for PDP disclosed in
However, when the antireflection film is formed by a sputtering method, a polyurethane layer having ultraviolet absorptivity cannot be used for the base, and the photodegradation of the dye contained in the color tone correction layer becomes a problem.
That is, an object of the present invention is to provide an optical filter for PDP in which surface hardness is high and light deterioration of a dye contained in a color tone correction layer is eliminated in order to solve the above-described problems of the prior art.
In order to achieve the above-described object, the present invention includes an antireflection layer, an ultraviolet absorption layer, and a color correction layer in this order from the viewing side, and the antireflection layers are formed by a sputtering method and have a refractive index of each other. Two or more different layers are laminated, the ultraviolet absorbing layer is made of a thermoplastic resin film containing an ultraviolet absorber, and the color tone correcting layer contains a dye having a color tone correcting ability. An optical filter for a plasma display panel is provided.
In the optical filter for plasma display of the present invention, the thermoplastic resin preferably has a glass transition point (Tg) of 60 ° C. or higher.
In the plasma display panel filter of the present invention, the thermoplastic resin is preferably polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
In the filter for plasma display of the present invention, it is preferable that the color tone correction layer further contains a dye having near infrared absorption ability.
Since the optical filter for PDP of the present invention is configured to include the antireflection layer, the ultraviolet absorbing layer, and the color tone correction layer in this order from the viewing side, the color tone correction layer of the PDP optical filter by the incident light from the viewing side. Photodegradation of the dye is prevented.
The optical filter for PDP of the present invention is an inorganic layer in which the antireflection film located on the viewing side of the optical filter is an inorganic layer formed by a sputtering method, and thus has high surface hardness and excellent scratch resistance.
In the optical filter for PDP of the present invention, the ultraviolet absorbing layer contains a UV absorber in a thermoplastic resin film having a high Tg, preferably a Tg of 60 ° C. or higher. For this reason, the possibility that the ultraviolet absorber moves in the thermoplastic resin film is reduced, and other components of the optical filter for PDP, specifically, for example, glass substrate, color tone correction layer or antireflection layer In the case of bonding with another thermoplastic resin film constituting a part via an adhesive, the adhesiveness is not inhibited.

The color
This color tone correction is achieved by selectively absorbing visible light having a specific wavelength out of visible light transmitted through the PDP
Specific examples of the dye that absorbs such a specific wavelength include, for example, azo, condensed azo, phthalocyanine, anthraquinone, indigo, perinone, perylene, dioxazine, quinacridone, methine, Well-known organic pigments and organic dyes such as isoindolinone-based, quinophthalone-based, pyrrole-based, thioindigo-based, and metal complex-based materials, and inorganic pigments can be used. Among these, phthalocyanine-based and anthraquinone-based dyes are particularly preferable because of their good weather resistance. In addition, any one of the above-described pigments may be included in the color
The color
It is preferable that the color
Specific examples of such near infrared absorbers include polymethine, phthalocyanine, naphthalocyanine, metal complex, aminium, imonium, diimonium, anthraquinone, dithiol metal complex, naphthoquinone, indolephenol. And azo-based and triallylmethane-based compounds. The PIR
In the

Further, when the color
In the method of forming the
The thickness of the color
When the

Here, the thermoplastic resin constituting the film preferably has a Tg of 60 ° C. or higher. When an ultraviolet absorber is contained in a thermoplastic resin having a low Tg, such as those used as an adhesive or an adhesive, the ultraviolet absorber moves to the adhesive interface or the adhesive interface and inhibits adhesiveness or adhesiveness. There is a risk. If the Tg of the thermoplastic resin film containing the ultraviolet absorber is 60 ° C. or higher, the possibility that the ultraviolet absorber moves in the thermoplastic resin film is reduced, and other components of the
Examples of resins having a Tg of 60 ° C. or more constituting the thermoplastic resin film include polyethylene terephthalate, aromatic polyester typified by polyethylene naphthalate, nylon 6 and aliphatic polyamide typified by nylon 66, aromatic polyamide, polycarbonate and the like. Is exemplified. Among these, aromatic polyester is preferable, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) that can form a biaxially stretched film excellent in heat resistance and mechanical strength is particularly preferable.
As the ultraviolet absorber contained in the thermoplastic resin film, known ultraviolet absorbers such as salicylic acid compounds, benzophenone compounds, benzotriazole compounds, and cyclic imino ester compounds can be preferably used. In order to form the thermoplastic resin into a film, a known method can be used. For example, a film excellent in heat resistance and mechanical strength can be produced by using a biaxial stretching method.
The method of adding the ultraviolet absorber to the thermoplastic resin is not particularly limited, but the polymerization process of the thermoplastic resin, the kneading into the thermoplastic resin in the melting process before film formation, the impregnation into the biaxially stretched film, etc. It can be illustrated. The kneading of the ultraviolet absorber at that time can be performed by a direct addition method of the powder of the agent, a master batch method in which a master polymer containing the agent in a high concentration is added to the film-forming polymer, or the like.

In this publication, a mesh film and a metal transparent conductive film are exemplified as the conductive film. Examples of mesh films include mesh films and fiber mesh films obtained by lithography such as photolithography, and transparent metal thin films and transparent metal thin films laminated on transparent resin films as metal transparent conductive films. More specifically, Ag sputtered films and ITO vapor deposited films are exemplified. A laminate of a transparent metal film on a transparent resin film is a laminate of a metal thin film of ITO, AZO, AgPd or the like on a transparent resin film by sputtering or vapor deposition. Here, the metal thin film may be a single layer or a laminate of different metal thin films.

The constituent material of the electromagnetic wave shielding layer can be appropriately selected. For example, in the case of a metal transparent conductive film, the metal used as the constituent material is, for example, copper, aluminum, nickel, titanium, tungsten, tin, lead, iron , Silver, chromium; these alloys such as stainless steel are exemplified, among which copper, stainless steel, and aluminum are preferable. On the other hand, the resin used as the constituent material of the metal transparent conductive film is, for example, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polybutylene terephthalate, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), acrylic resin, polycarbonate (PC), polystyrene, cellulose triacetate, polyvinyl alcohol. , Polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyvinyl butyral, metal ion-crosslinked ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer, polyurethane, and cellophane. Among them, PET, PMMA, and PC are preferable.

An
