BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a paper sheet discriminating apparatus capable of detecting a tape, paper, a seal, etc., a security thread, and a hologram affixed to banknotes, securities, stamps and checks.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In an apparatus that handles banknotes such as a banknote handling apparatus or a vending machine provided in an automatic teller machine, it is important to detect banknotes that have been altered with tape, paper, etc. ing.
[0003]
There exists a thing as described in Unexamined-Japanese-Patent No. 4-102002 as such a banknote discrimination | determination apparatus. The “sheet thickness detecting device” described in this publication is a capacitance detecting unit composed of an electrode of a rotating body and a plate electrode, or between electrodes of a capacitance detecting unit composed of two rotating body electrodes. The bill is passed, and the thickness of the bill is detected from the change in capacitance between the electrodes.
[0004]
Moreover, there exists a thing of Unexamined-Japanese-Patent No. 2001-240271. The “Bill Discrimination Device” described in this publication arranges a large number of two electrodes facing each other, arranges them in a line, detects the tape etc. from the change in capacitance between the electrodes by passing the bill between the electrodes, and eliminates it To do.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The apparatus described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. Hei 4-102002 detects banknotes stacked two or more from the change in capacitance, but is considered to be usable for detecting a modified ticket with tape, paper, etc. It is done. However, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 4-102002 does not give consideration to jams (paper jams) and detection accuracy with respect to banknotes that are generally distributed with low rigidity, wrinkled banknotes. That is, since the electrodes are in contact with each other, when a banknote having low rigidity is inserted, the banknote is bent due to the conveyance resistance between the electrodes, and a jam occurs. In addition, if the pinching force between the electrodes is weakened in order to reduce the conveyance resistance, wrinkled banknotes cannot be crushed, and there is a problem of erroneously detecting that the banknotes are overlapping.
[0006]
In addition, in the apparatus described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2001-240271, no consideration is given to jamming (paper jam) during bill conveyance when the gap between the electrodes is narrowed. That is, in order to increase the capacitance change, it is effective to narrow the gap between the electrodes. However, when the banknotes with weak rigidity, the banknotes are folded, wrinkles, etc., there is a problem that if the gap between the electrodes is narrow, the conveyance resistance increases and jamming occurs.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problem, and a highly sensitive and highly reliable paper sheet discriminating apparatus which can obtain a large change in capacitance and does not cause jam between electrodes. It is to provide.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The purpose is to determine a paper sheet comprising a paper sheet transported in a gap of the transport guide, a transport means for transporting the paper sheet, and a capacitance detecting means provided in the middle of the transport guide. In the apparatus, a portion of the conveying means that sandwiches the paper sheet and imparts a conveying force to the paper sheet is exposed in the gap of the conveying guide, and a gap between the capacitance detecting means is provided to face the opposing electrode. This is achieved by arranging in a direction orthogonal to the paper sheet transport direction at a position where the paper sheet is sandwiched by the transport means.
[0009]
Also, the above object is achieved by the means for conveying the paper sheet while holding the paper sheet with two rotating bodies.
[0010]
Further, the above object is achieved by the gap between the opposing electrodes of the capacitance detecting means being narrower than the gap of the transport guide.
[0011]
In addition, the above-mentioned object is that the cross section of the capacitance detection unit viewed from the direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the paper sheet is that of the rotary sheet holding the paper sheet of the conveyance unit. This is achieved by configuring so as not to protrude from a cross section viewed from a direction orthogonal to the transport direction.
[0012]
Further, the above object is achieved by forming at least one of the opposing electrodes of the capacitance detecting means on the rotating body of the conveying means.
[0013]
Further, the above object is achieved by forming one of the two opposing electrodes of the capacitance detecting means in an arc shape.
[0014]
The above object is achieved by providing means for detecting the displacement of the gap between the two electrodes facing each other of the capacitance detecting means.
[0015]
Also, the object is to provide a paper sheet that is transported through a gap in the transport guide, a transport means that transports the paper sheet, and a capacitance detection means provided in the middle of the transport guide. In the leaf discriminating apparatus, a portion of the transport unit that holds the paper sheet and applies a transport force to the paper sheet is exposed in a clearance of the transport guide, and is provided with a clearance of the capacitance detection unit. An electrode to be disposed in a direction perpendicular to the paper sheet transport direction at a position where the paper sheet of the transport means is sandwiched, and when the paper sheet passes between the electrodes, a gap between the electrodes is This is achieved by moving in the direction in which the gap widens when receiving a force from the paper.
[0016]
Further, the above object is that the moving electrode of the capacitance detecting means is given a pressing force in the direction of pressing the paper sheet so as not to move unless a force of a certain value or more is applied from the paper sheet. Is achieved.
[0017]
Further, the above object is achieved by the transporting means being a means for transporting the paper sheets by sandwiching them with two rotating bodies.
[0018]
Further, the above object is achieved by the gap between the opposing electrodes of the capacitance detecting means being narrower than the gap of the transport guide.
[0019]
In addition, the above-mentioned object is that the cross section of the capacitance detection unit viewed from the direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the paper sheet is that of the rotary sheet holding the paper sheet of the conveyance unit. This is achieved by configuring so as not to protrude from a cross section viewed from a direction orthogonal to the transport direction.
[0020]
Further, the above object is achieved by forming at least one of the opposing electrodes of the capacitance detecting means on the rotating body of the conveying means.
[0021]
Further, the above object is achieved by forming one of the two opposing electrodes of the capacitance detecting means in an arc shape.
[0022]
The above object is achieved by providing means for detecting the displacement of the gap between the two electrodes facing each other of the capacitance detecting means.

Next, a bill discriminating device will be described.
The banknote discriminating apparatus determines whether the denomination or authenticity of the banknote consists of an image sensor that detects the pattern of the banknote, a magnetic sensor that detects the magnetic pattern of the banknote, and a fluorescence sensor that detects a fluorescent image of the banknote. It consists of a device, a bill thickness sensor, and a capacitance sensor. The banknote thickness sensor detects double feed or the like in which two or more banknotes overlap. In addition, the capacitance sensor detects banknotes that have been altered with tape, paper, etc., and if the banknotes have been repaired torn, they are stored in the reject box 94, and the banknotes cut into strips are joined together. If it is a modified ticket, it is returned to the deposit /

Capacitance C when there is no parallel plate electrode paper 1 Is C 1 = Ε 1 A / d (where ε 1 : Dielectric constant of air, A: electrode area, d: gap between electrodes). Also, the capacitance C when there is paper between the electrodes 2 Is C 2 = A / (t / ε 2 + (Dt) / ε 1 ) (Where ε 2 : Dielectric constant of paper, t: thickness of paper). Capacitance C when there is no paper between the electrodes 1 Capacitance C when there is a paper with a thickness of 90 μm between the electrodes 2 The rate of change is 12% when d = 0.5 mm, 6% when d = 1 mm, 4% when d = 1.5 mm, and 3% when d = 2 mm. Similarly, the rate of change when there is one sheet of paper having a thickness of 90 μm and between two electrodes or when there is a tape having a thickness of 50 μm is almost the same value as described above.
[0031]
As described above, according to this embodiment, even when the electrode constituting the capacitance sensor is arranged in the same row as the conveyance roller that conveys the banknote, the gap between the electrodes is narrower than the gap of the conveyance guide. Since the conveyance force by the conveyance roller is larger than the conveyance resistance, there is an effect that the banknote can be conveyed without causing a jam. Further, in the present invention, since the gap between the electrodes can be narrowed, the change in capacitance with a banknote with a tape or the like can be increased, which is effective in improving detection sensitivity. Moreover, since a banknote is pinched with a conveyance roller, the vertical position fluctuation | variation of a banknote between electrodes is eliminated. Therefore, there is no change in capacitance, which is effective in improving detection accuracy.

Therefore, the bill thickness reference value 112 at the bill passage position stored in advance is set in consideration of the bill thickness and the passage area of the detection electrode for each bill passage position. That is, the banknote thickness reference value 112 is set to a high level when the banknote is thick, and is set to a low level when the banknote is thin. Further, where the thickness changes, the final thickness is gradually set in proportion to the passage area of the detection electrode.
