TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a stabilized power supply circuit, and more particularly to a stabilized power supply circuit having a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR).
[0002]
[Prior art]
FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing a conventional stabilized power supply circuit.
In this stabilized power supply circuit, a P-channel MOS (Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) transistor (hereinafter referred to as a PMOS transistor) 13 having a source electrode connected to a power supply terminal 11 and a drain electrode connected to an output terminal 12, and a reference. It comprises a reference voltage generating circuit 14 for generating a voltage (VREF), two differential amplifiers (Op-amps 1 and 2) 15 and 16, a power supply fluctuation detecting unit 17, and an output voltage detecting unit 18, and an output terminal 12 and a ground terminal. A load 19 is connected between 20. The output voltage detector 18 outputs the voltage divided by the resistor, and the differential amplifier 15 amplifies and outputs an error between the voltage detected by the output voltage detector 18 and the reference voltage (VREF). The output of the differential amplifier 15 is connected to the inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16. A similar circuit is described in Patent Document 1 described later.
[0003]
The power supply fluctuation detecting unit 17 detects a fluctuation voltage of the gate-source voltage (Vgs) of the PMOS transistor 13 due to the noise mixed into the power supply voltage VDD. The output of the power supply fluctuation detecting unit 17 is connected to the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16. In the differential amplifier 16, the error signal amplified by the differential amplifier 15 and the signal detected by the power supply fluctuation detecting unit 17 are added and output as a gate signal of the PMOS transistor 13. Here, a feedback loop from the output voltage detecting unit 18 to the differential amplifier 15 and the differential amplifier 16 is called a major loop, and a loop from the power supply fluctuation detecting unit 17 to the differential amplifier 16 is called a minor loop.
[0004]
The major loop in this stabilized power supply circuit acts on the power supply voltage fluctuation removal ratio due to noise in a relatively low frequency range of the power supply voltage VDD, and the minor loop removes the power supply voltage fluctuation due to high frequency noise (here, around 20 kHz). Designed to affect the ratio.
[0005]
FIG. 6 is a diagram showing a specific circuit configuration of a conventional stabilized power supply circuit. The resistors R1 and R2 for voltage division constitute the output voltage detecting unit 18 in FIG. Further, a common-source amplifier including the PMOS transistor 21 and the resistor R3 constitutes the power supply fluctuation detecting unit 17 in FIG. The PMOS transistors 13 and 21 are current mirrors, and a current proportional to the PMOS transistor 13 also flows through the PMOS transistor 21. Normally, a stabilized power supply circuit is designed to allow a source current of about 150 mA to flow. Therefore, the size of the PMOS transistor 21 is much smaller than that of the PMOS transistor 13, and operation with low current consumption is realized.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the conventional stabilized power supply circuit, a current proportional to the load current flows through the PMOS transistor 21 as described above, and the potential of the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 is determined by the current flowing through the PMOS transistor 21 and the resistance R3. Is determined by Normally, the load current fluctuates in the range of 0 A to 150 mA. Therefore, the resistance value of the resistor R3 is set so that the potential of the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 does not become too large at the maximum load current.
[0008]
However, when the load current decreases, the potential of the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 drops, and the potential falls outside the common-mode input range of the differential amplifier 16, so that the minor loop does not work. As a result, when the load current is small, there is a problem that the power supply voltage fluctuation removal ratio of high-frequency noise is reduced.
[0009]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a stabilized power supply circuit which can improve a power supply voltage fluctuation rejection ratio of high-frequency noise even when a load current is small.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a first MOS type semiconductor device in which one of a source electrode and a drain electrode is connected to a power supply and the other is connected to a load, and an output voltage to the load. A first loop that feeds back an error signal with respect to a reference voltage; and a second loop that feeds back a voltage fluctuation of the power supply, wherein a gate electrode of the first MOS type semiconductor element is turned on in response to the error signal. There is provided a stabilized power supply circuit for controlling the voltage of an electrode connected to the load of the first MOS type semiconductor device to be constant. In this stabilized power supply circuit, the second loop is constituted by a common-source amplifier, and the output level of the common-source amplifier is provided with a DC offset. And a series circuit of a MOS type semiconductor element and a resistor.
[0011]
According to the stabilized power supply circuit of the present invention, the potential of the non-inverting input terminal of the common-source amplifier constituting the second loop can be kept within the common-mode input range even when the load current is small.
[0012]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a stabilized power supply circuit according to an embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 1, the same reference numerals are given to portions corresponding to FIG. 5 showing a conventional stabilized power supply circuit.
[0013]
In the stabilized power supply circuit according to the present invention, the DC current is controlled so that the potential of the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 remains within the in-phase input range of the differential amplifier 16 with respect to the load current that varies in the range of 0 A to 150 mA. A power supply DCV is provided. With this DC power supply DCV, the potential of the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 has a DC offset. As a specific means for forming a DC offset, instead of the DC power supply DCV, an N-channel MOS transistor (hereinafter, referred to as an NMOS transistor), an NPN transistor, or a series circuit of a diode and a resistor is used. Can be adopted.
[0014]
FIG. 2 is a circuit diagram showing an example of a specific configuration of the stabilized power supply circuit. In the figure, the NMOS transistor 22 is diode-connected between the resistor R3 and the ground in order to realize a DC offset with respect to the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16.
[0015]
Here, even if the current to the load connected to the output terminal 12 is 0 A, the current from the PMOS transistor 13 to the voltage dividing resistors R1 and R2 constituting the output voltage detecting unit 18 does not become 0. Therefore, a current proportional to the load current flows through the PMOS transistor 21. Moreover, in order to suppress the current consumption of the stabilized power supply circuit, the resistors R1 and R2 have high resistance values, and the current value flowing through the PMOS transistor 21 is small.
[0016]
When a current flows through the PMOS transistor 21, the drain potential of the diode-connected NMOS transistor 22 becomes about the threshold voltage of the NMOS transistor. Therefore, by designing the differential amplifier 16 as a PMOS transistor differential amplifier, it becomes relatively easy to set the common mode input range of the differential amplifier 16 to be equal to or lower than the threshold voltage of the NMOS transistor.
[0017]
In the stabilized power supply circuit configured as described above, when the power supply voltage VDD increases and Vgs of the PMOS transistor 21 increases, the current of the PMOS transistor 21 increases. The output voltage of the common source amplifier also increases. The input voltage at the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 increases due to the source-grounded amplifier, and the gate voltage Vgs of the PMOS transistor 13 connected to the output terminal of the differential amplifier 16 also increases.
[0018]
Conversely, when the power supply voltage VDD decreases and Vgs of the PMOS transistor 21 decreases, the current of the PMOS transistor 21 decreases and the output of the common source amplifier also decreases. Therefore, the gate voltage Vgs of the PMOS transistor 13 also decreases.
[0019]
As a result, in the above-described stabilized power supply circuit, control is performed to keep the gate voltage Vgs of the PMOS transistor 13 constant. The DC offset with respect to the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 is realized by the diode-connected NMOS transistor 22. Since all these operations are performed within the common-mode input range, the output voltage VOUT to the load 19 is accurately controlled by an error signal between the power supply voltage VDD and the reference voltage VREF. The power supply voltage fluctuation removal rate can be improved even in the region.
[0020]
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an example of a stabilized power supply circuit configuration using an NPN transistor. In the figure, the NPN transistor 23 is diode-connected between the resistor R3 and the ground in order to realize a DC offset with respect to the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 instead of the MOS transistor 22 of FIG.
[0021]
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing an example of a stabilized power supply circuit configuration using a diode. Here, similarly to FIG. 3, a DC offset for the differential amplifier 16 is configured by a series circuit of a diode 24 and a resistor R3 instead of the MOS transistor 22 of FIG.
[0022]
In any of the embodiments, when the load current is small, the potential of the non-inverting input terminal of the differential amplifier 16 can be brought into the common-mode input range. It becomes possible. At the same time, the current itself flowing through the transistor 21 can be reduced, so that current consumption can be reduced. Further, since the resistance R3 can be increased by an amount corresponding to the reduction in the current flowing through the transistor 21, the gain of the common source amplifier can be increased, and the power supply voltage fluctuation rejection rate can be further improved.
[0023]
