本発明は、光学レンズをプレス成形によって製造するために用いられる光学レンズのプレス成形装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
光学レンズ等の光学素子は、ガラス素材を上型と下型とによりプレス成形することにより成形されている。このような成形に用いる成形装置においては、成形される光学素子の光学特性を向上させるために、上型と下型の中心軸を精度良く一致させることが重要となっている。

このため、従来では図4に示す光学レンズのプレス成形装置が開発されている。図4は、プレス成形装置の要部の断面図、図5は上型と下型の位置出し方法を説明する断面図である(例えば、特許文献1参照)。

図4において、成形室111が筐体101によって形成されており、成形室111内の上部天井面101bにはプレート103を介して上型105が固着されている。上型105に対向して下型106がプレス軸104の上端に配置されている。プレス軸104はスライダー107に固着されており、スライダー107は高精度ガイド装置108を介してブラケット102内に摺動可能に設置されている。

ブラケット102は筐体101の下部底面101aに取り付けられており、筐体101の下部底面101aに取り付けられている支柱110によって、他の部分とは接することなく宙づり状態で設置されている。このブラケット102には下部に油圧シリンダー109が固着されており、油圧シリンダー109のロッド先端はスイベルジョイント115を介してスライダー107に接続されている。そして油圧シリンダー109がスライダー107を押し上げることにより、スライダー107に固着されたプレス軸104を押し上げ、下型106を上型105に突き当てて型締めすることにより光学レンズをプレス成形する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、図4に示すプレス成形装置では、上型105と下型106とを連結する筐体101及びブラケット102が別部材によって構成され、且つ筐体101にブラケット102を宙づり状態とする構造となっているため、上型105と下型106を位置決めする際には、構成部材の加工誤差や組立誤差が積み重なり装置全体としての誤差が大きくなっている。この誤差を少なくするためには、それぞれの部材を高精度に製作し、且つ高精度に組立調整する必要があるため、多大の工数が必要となって装置の作製が面倒となっていると共に、成形装置のコストが高騰する問題を有している。

また、筐体101とブラケット102とが別部材により構成されていることから、熱による膨張やプレス力の影響によって構成部材の連結精度を維持できずに変化が生じるため、高精度の状態を維持することができないものとなる。

さらに、筐体101が箱形状となっているため、上型105を取り付ける上部天井面101bの加工精度(平面度・真直度・表面粗さ)を確保することが難しい。これにより、上型105を取り付ける上部天井面101bと下型106の取り付け基準となる筐体101の下部底面101aとの相対精度を高精度に確保することが困難である。そのため、上型105及び下型106の軸心に傾きが発生して、加工されたレンズの偏心精度が悪くなる問題が生じる。また、箱形状の筐体101は放熱性が悪いため、図示されていない加熱手段による成形時の熱が筐体101内にこもり、この熱によって筐体101に変形が発生している。このように図4に示すプレス成形装置では、型合わせ精度が確保できないという問題がある。

これに対し、型締めの際の型合わせ精度を向上させるため、図5に示すように、上型105に位置決め孔114を設ける一方、位置決め孔114に嵌入する位置決めピン113を下型106に固着することがなされている。この構造では、型締め時に位置決め孔114に位置決めピン113が挿入することにより、上型105と下型106との型合わせ精度を確保するものである。

しかしながら、図5に示す構造とした場合においても、位置決め孔114と位置決めピン113との嵌合クリアランスや熱によるこれらの形状変化があることから高精度の加工を行うには十分とはなっていない。

本発明は、このような従来の問題点を考慮してなされたものであり、光学レンズをプレス成形する型締め時の精度を高精度に確保することができ、これにより、加工される光学レンズの精度を確保することが可能な光学レンズのプレス成形装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、請求項1の発明の光学レンズのプレス成形装置は、上型が固定された上型ユニットと、下型が取り付けられる下軸が駆動テーブルに取り付けられると共に、駆動テーブルを上下方向に移動させる駆動手段及び駆動テーブルの移動を案内するガイド機構を備えた下型ユニットと、上型ユニット及び下型ユニットが対向するように取り付けられたコラムとを備えていることを特徴とする。

この実施の形態による光学レンズの成形は、まず、光学レンズに成形するための適量の図示しないガラス素材を、図示しない搬送装置により下型4上に載置する。続いて、駆動装置8として用いるブレーキ付きサーボモータを回転させ、高精度ボールネジ7を介してスライドテーブル6を上昇させる。スライドテーブル6の上昇に伴い、図示しないガラス素材を載置した下型4も上昇し、下型4と対向する上型3との間で型締めが行われ、光学レンズが成形される。

このような実施の形態では、上型3を備えた上型ユニット1及び下型4を備えた下型ユニット21をコラム10に取り付けるため、上型3及び下型4の軸芯の高精度な同軸度を確保することができる。また、上型3及び下型4が取り付けられるコラム10の取り付け面10a以外の3面を解放状態とすることができるため、放熱効率が良くなり、上型ユニット1と下型ユニット21およびこれらのユニット1,21を取り付けるコラム10への成形時の熱による影響が少なくなる。これにより、その精度を長期間維持でき、上型3と下型4とを位置出し部材等を用いることなく高精度に型締めすることができる。具体的には、シフト誤差±10μm以内、チルト誤差±0.5分以内の高精度な成形を長期間維持することができるものである。また、極めて簡単な構造であるため、成形機のコストも低減でき、光学レンズの製造コストを抑えることが可能となる。
