Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electrophotographic apparatus, and more particularly to a charging device for charging a photosensitive drum of an electrophotographic apparatus as an image forming apparatus.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a brush charging device, a voltage is applied to a conductive brush, and a member to be charged is charged to a constant voltage by minute discharge or charge injection from the brush.
[0003]
Conventionally, as shown in
[0004]
On the other hand, in the case of winding and rotating in a spiral shape, the bristle density is low at the joints, there are low-charge portions along the joints, and a diagonal shade line is generated in the HT image. Therefore, as disclosed in
[0005]
On the other hand, when the brush is created by electrostatic flocking, even if the resistance of the yarns varies, the brushes are arranged at random, so that the HT image does not have dark and light lines, and the seam does not occur. Is also gone.
[0006]
A method using electrostatic flocking is proposed in
[0007]
Further, as shown in FIG. 10, in the electrostatic flocking brush charging, when viewed microscopically, the bristle tip is directed in various directions, so that a portion which does not hit the brush against the member to be charged is generated. Since the charging does not become the same, sweeping lines occur in the HT.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to solve the conventional problem, and an object of the present invention is to provide an electrophotographic apparatus capable of preventing non-uniform charging and suppressing brush streaks.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention relates to a photosensitive drum, and a charging device that has a brush member in which an adhesive is applied to a rotatable conductive material and a conductive fiber is electrostatically implanted thereon, and charges the photosensitive drum. The brush member is an electrophotographic device having a brush density of 465,000 brushes / cm 2 or more.

By setting the brush density to 300,000 brushes / inch 2 (4.65 million brushes / cm 2 ) or more, it is possible to prevent uneven charging, which occurs due to uneven hair direction, and to provide brush streaks in the HT section. Shape irregularities can be suppressed.
[0012]
Further, the present invention is the electrophotographic apparatus, wherein the brush member is applied with a voltage obtained by superimposing a DC voltage and an AC voltage that is twice or more than a discharge starting voltage in a peak-to-peak manner.
[0013]
This makes it possible to stabilize the surface potential of the photoconductor even when the environment changes.
[0014]
The present invention is the electrophotographic apparatus, wherein the brush member is made of nylon.
[0015]
Thereby, the triboelectric charging property with the photoconductor is improved, and the applied voltage DC component can be reduced.
[0016]
Further, the present invention provides a member to be charged and a charging device that has a brush member in which an adhesive is applied to a conductive material and a conductive fiber is electrostatically implanted thereon, and the member to be charged is charged. In the electrophotographic apparatus provided, the brush member has a bristle length of 3.0 mm or more and a bite amount with a member to be charged of 0.5 mm or less.
[0017]
By carrying out the electrostatic flocking, no diagonal stripes of light and shade along the winding direction are generated in a spirally wound brush fiber. Further, even a seamless fabric such as that disclosed in
[0018]
Further, the present invention is the electrophotographic apparatus wherein the brush member rotates and comes into contact with the photoreceptor.
[0019]
As a result, it is possible to make the dirt with the toner uniform, and even if dirt is caught in the brush, the pressure is released by the rotation and the dirt is removed, so that stable charging over the life can be performed.

In the above description, the laser beam is scanned and exposed by the laser beam scanner units 227a to 227d, thereby performing optical writing on the photosensitive member. However, a writing optical system (LED head) including a light emitting diode array and an imaging lens array may be used instead of the laser beam scanner unit. The LED head is smaller in size than the laser beam scanner unit, and has no moving parts and is silent. Therefore, it can be suitably used in an image forming apparatus such as a tandem type digital color copying machine which requires a plurality of optical writing units.

And metal processing yarn such as copper.
[0050]
Nylon has a strong property of negatively charging a partner due to friction. By using nylon, the photosensitive member is negatively charged by frictional charging, so that the voltage can be reduced by 30 V in the case of only a DC voltage.

The experimental results will be described. When the AC is not superimposed, the photoconductor surface potential decreases by 200 v at 25 ° C. and 50% to 10 ° C. and 20%, whereas when the AC is superimposed, the photoconductor surface potential hardly changes. FIG. 7 shows the evaluation results of the brush streaks under the above conditions. As shown in FIG. 7, it can be seen that when the flocking density is 300,000 hairs / square inch 2 (4.65 million hairs / square cm 2 ) or more, there is no sweeping line. This is because even if the direction of the hairs is not uniform by increasing the density, the other hairs compensate for the charge.
[0060]
FIG. 7 shows a test result obtained by examining a state of an image (printed matter) obtained after forming one halftone image using the image forming apparatus shown in FIG.
[0061]
Further, in the last column of FIG. 7, the torque fluctuation on the aging 1K page at the bite amount of 0.5 mm is described. When the flocking density exceeded 600,000 brushes / inch 2 (93,000 brushes / square cm 2 ), toner entered between the brushes, increasing the torque, and was at a level unpractical.
