[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a multi-cylinder in-line DOHC engine in which a V-shaped intake valve and an exhaust valve are cam-driven via a tappet, a variable valve mechanism combining a variable timing mechanism and a variable lift mechanism is used. It is required that the hydraulic paths for supplying hydraulic pressure to both the timing variable mechanism and the lift variable mechanism on the side and the hydraulic path configuration of each hydraulic control valve be simple and easy to machine.
[0007]
Also, in such an engine, when the oil passage configuration to the variable timing mechanism is configured to communicate with the variable timing mechanism from the journal hole of the foremost cam journal through the oil passage in the cam shaft as usual, the cam journal is It is necessary to perform forced lubrication, and an oil path for that is necessary, and the oil path is usually composed of an oil gallery extending inside the camshaft and a branch oil path opening to the journal hole. Due to the arrangement of the oil passage for variable timing and the oil passage for cam journal lubrication, the width of the foremost cam journal must be increased. The overall length of the engine becomes longer and longer, which hinders downsizing.
[0008]
The present invention provides a multi-cylinder in-line DOHC engine having a variable valve mechanism combining a variable timing mechanism and a variable lift mechanism with a tappet type, and applies hydraulic pressure to each of a variable timing mechanism and a variable lift mechanism on both the intake side and the exhaust side. It is an object of the present invention to make the supply oil passage and the oil passage configuration of each hydraulic control valve simple and easy to work, and to shorten the overall length of the engine and improve the rigidity of the cylinder head.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention provides a cylinder head structure of a multi-cylinder engine that solves the above-mentioned problems.
[0010]
The cylinder head structure of the multi-cylinder engine according to the first aspect of the present invention is a DOHC engine in which a V-shaped intake valve and an exhaust valve are cam-driven via a tappet, in a cylinder row direction of both an intake camshaft and an exhaust camshaft. At the front end, a hydraulic timing variable mechanism for variably controlling the phase between the crankshaft and each camshaft is provided, and a variable lift mechanism for variably controlling valve lift characteristics is provided in each tappet, and the intake camshaft and the exhaust cam are provided. A cylinder head structure of a multi-cylinder in-line engine in which an oil passage for supplying oil pressure to the variable timing mechanism is formed at a front portion of a shaft in a cylinder row direction, and a cam journal lubrication in a cylinder row direction integrally with a cylinder head side wall portion. Oil gallery is extended, and the timing variable hydraulic control valve on the intake side and the exhaust timing are controlled independently of each other. A variable hydraulic control valve is provided upright on the cylinder head on the cylinder head in the cylinder row direction on the same direction side with respect to each cam shaft of a cam holder forming cam journals of both the intake cam shaft and the exhaust cam shaft. The lift variable hydraulic control valve for controlling the variable lift mechanism is arranged between the intake side and the exhaust side timing variable hydraulic control valve and between the intake camshaft and the exhaust camshaft. An oil passage that is erected on the cam holder and supplies hydraulic pressure to both the intake-side and exhaust-side timing-variable hydraulic control valves and the lift-variable hydraulic control valve is linearly arranged in the cam holder in the cylinder head width direction. It is characterized by the configuration formed by.
[0011]
In this case, the oil gallery for cam journal lubrication is integrally extended on the side wall of the cylinder head, so that an oil passage for cam journal lubrication is provided in the cam shaft. This increases the degree of freedom in designing the oil passage configuration, and reduces the journal width of the foremost cam journal, thereby achieving a more compact engine. At the forefront in the cylinder row direction, both intake-side and exhaust-side timing variable hydraulic control valves and lift variable hydraulic control valves are erected on cam holders that form both intake-side and exhaust-side cam journals. The hydraulic passage for supplying hydraulic pressure to both the timing variable hydraulic control valve and the lift variable hydraulic control valve on the cam side and the exhaust side is formed in the cam holder in a linear arrangement in the cylinder head width direction. The oil passage configuration is simple and easy to process. In addition, by arranging the intake-side variable timing hydraulic control valve and the exhaust-side variable timing hydraulic control valve in the same direction with respect to each camshaft, the intake-side and exhaust-side variable timing mechanisms are achieved. The workability can be improved by making the oil passage configuration the same, and the lift variable hydraulic control valve that simultaneously controls the intake side and the exhaust side is provided between both timing variable hydraulic control valves and both camshafts. With the arrangement between them, it is possible to simplify the configuration of the oil passage for supplying the hydraulic pressure to the lift variable mechanism of each tappet on the intake side and the exhaust side. In addition, the lubricating oil passage to the cam journal can also be formed in a straight line from the cam journal lubricating oil gallery, which extends integrally with the cylinder head side wall, almost directly above, and is simple and easy to machine. can do.
[0012]
A cylinder head structure of a multi-cylinder engine according to a second aspect of the present invention includes the above-described structure of the first aspect of the present invention, wherein the tappets are disposed in tappet holes formed in the cylinder head, and each tappet is With a divided structure of a low-speed tappet and a high-speed tappet divided in the direction of the cam shaft, a variable lift mechanism is constituted by the low-speed tappet and the high-speed tappet and a hydraulic locking means capable of connecting and detaching them. A low-speed cam and a high-speed cam are provided on the intake camshaft and the exhaust camshaft corresponding to the low-speed tappet and the high-speed tappet of each tappet. A lift that can supply hydraulic pressure from the lift variable hydraulic control valve to the lock means of each tappet can be arranged at the center side of the tappet hole. Oil gallery extends in the cylinder row direction, and a branch oil passage for supplying oil pressure from the lift variable oil gallery to the lock means of each tappet branches in a direction substantially orthogonal to the cam shaft direction to form a tap oil hole for each tappet hole. An opening is formed in the tappet hole inner wall at a position offset in the cam axis direction from the cam axis direction center, and the branch oil passage is formed by drilling such that an extension of the oil passage axis is located in the upper opening of the tappet hole. Things.
[0013]
In this case, the structure of the oil passage to the lock means of each tappet is constituted by a combination of straight passages, and can be made simple and easy to process.
[0014]
The cylinder head structure of the multi-cylinder engine according to the third aspect of the present invention includes the above-described structure according to the second aspect, and the foremost cam holder in the cylinder row direction is provided separately from the cylinder head on the intake side and the exhaust side. A left and right integrated lower member forming a lower portion of the cam journal, and a right and left integrated cap member forming an upper portion of the intake and exhaust side cam journals. And the lift-variable hydraulic control valve is erected, and each timing-variable hydraulic control valve communicates with a cam journal hole via an oil passage in a cap member of the cam holder. While communicating with the variable timing mechanism via an oil passage, the lift variable control valve is connected via an oil passage extending from the inside of the cap member to the inside of the lower member. Those having a structure that communicates with the oil passage in the cylinder head.
[0015]
In this way, the foremost cam holder is constituted by the lower member and the cap member which are separate from the cylinder head, and each hydraulic control valve is erected on the cap member, and the oil passage is formed in the cap member, the lower member, and the like. By forming, the oil passage configuration is simple and easy to process.
[0016]
A cylinder head structure of a multi-cylinder engine according to a fourth aspect of the present invention includes the above-described configuration of the third aspect of the invention, and the two-timing variable hydraulic control valve and the lift variable hydraulic control valve are respectively Both the cam holders are erected through a head cover that covers the cylinder head, and each wiring connection portion is configured to be exposed outside the head cover. This makes wiring to each hydraulic control valve simple and easy.
[0017]
A cylinder head structure of a multi-cylinder engine according to a fifth aspect of the present invention includes the above-described structure according to the first to fourth aspects of the present invention. The left and right separate lower members forming the lower cam journal on the side, and the left and right separate cap members forming the upper and lower cam journals on the intake side and the exhaust side are formed. It is configured such that a branch oil passage branched from the cam gallery lubricating oil gallery communicates with the cam journal hole via an oil passage in the lower member by being fastened to the cylinder head with a pair of bolts on both sides of the cam shaft. is there.
[0018]
In this case, both the foremost cam holder and the other cam holders are separate from the cylinder head, and the tappet holes are formed in the cylinder head. Therefore, the cam journal and tappet holes are mounted on a separate cam carrier from the cylinder head. The cost is lower than in the case of forming, and the cam holders other than the foremost part are composed of a lower member and a cap member separately on the intake side and the exhaust side. The cam journal lubrication branch oil passage communicates with the cam journal hole via an oil passage in the lower member, so that the cam journal lubrication branch oil passage at the fastening surface between the lower member and the cylinder head is tightened. Sealability can be ensured.
[0019]
A cylinder head structure of a multi-cylinder engine according to a sixth aspect of the present invention includes the above-described configuration according to the first to fifth aspects, and the oil gallery constituting wall for changing the lift of the cylinder head is a tappet hole wall and an ignition plug hole. The wall and the head horizontal wall below the cam journal are connected, and a portion of the cylinder head side wall where the cam journal lubricating oil gallery is integrally formed has a tappet hole wall connected in the cylinder row direction. With this configuration, the rigidity of the cylinder head can be increased.
[0020]
