Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an inkjet printer and an inkjet printing method for printing an image by discharging ink on a print medium.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In printing on a print medium having a regular surface such as recording paper, a printing method that mainly considers bleeding has been proposed in order to obtain a high-quality image.
[0003]
For example, when a color image area is formed at a position adjacent to a black image area on a print medium as in Patent Document 1, the penetration speed of the black image area adjacent to the color image area is higher than that of black ink. A technique is to use a composite black composed of three color inks of magenta, cyan, and yellow, and to form a black image area only with black ink when the black image area is not adjacent to the color image area. Proposed. According to this, in the boundary region between the black image region and the color image region, a sufficient black density of the black image region can be maintained without causing bleeding from the black image region.
[0004]
However, in the method described in Patent Document 1, the effect is exerted on a print medium having a smooth surface, but on a print medium having a rough surface such as a cloth, ink droplets ejected from an inkjet head collide with the print medium. In this case, if the surface roughness has directionality, the ink scatters in that direction. This scattering is not a phenomenon that occurs only in the vicinity of the color boundary, but also occurs from a part that is distant to some extent. Therefore, if a black ink droplet scatters in a color image area other than the black image area, the black Dots are noticeable in the color image area, which degrades the image quality.
[0005]
As a technique for coping with such scattering of black ink, for example, as in Patent Document 2, there is an ink jet printing method for fabric that restricts the mass and ejection speed of ink droplets and suppresses the scattering of ink droplets. Proposed. According to this, since the ejection speed of the ink droplet is reduced, it is possible to prevent the ink from being scattered, thereby enabling high-quality printing.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the ink-jet printing method in the technique of Patent Document 2, it is difficult to suppress the scattering of black ink droplets for all fabrics made of different materials. Black dots are conspicuous, thereby deteriorating the image quality.
[0008]
Therefore, the present invention provides an inkjet printer and an inkjet printing method capable of improving the quality of an image by suppressing black dots caused by black ink droplets scattered in areas other than a black image area printed on a print medium. The aim is to provide a method.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In the inkjet printer according to the first aspect of the invention, a black ink ejection unit that ejects black ink, a first color ink ejection unit that ejects a color ink of a first color, and the first color have a hue. A second color ink discharge unit that discharges a different second color ink, and a third color ink that is different in hue from the first and second colors and becomes black when mixed with these two color inks. A third color ink ejection unit that ejects color inks of the colors, black ink ejected from the black ink ejection unit, and first to third colors ejected from the first to third ink ejection units. A control unit for controlling the black ink ejection unit and the first to third ink ejection units such that black dots are formed on a print medium by overlapping with color ink. It is assumed that.
[0010]
According to this, by controlling the black ink ejection unit and the first to third ink ejection units by the control unit, the black ink ejected from the black ink ejection unit and the black ink ejected from the first to third ink ejection units are controlled. The black dots are formed on the print medium by overlapping the color inks of the first to third colors. Therefore, when a black image area is printed on a print medium such as a cloth, it is possible to suppress the black dots due to the black ink droplets scattered on the surface of the print medium from being conspicuous in places other than the black image area of the print medium. This makes it possible to improve image quality.
[0011]
In the ink jet printer according to the second aspect of the present invention, the black ink contains 2 to 4% by weight of a pigment as a colorant, and the first color ink contains 1 to 4% by weight of a pigment as a colorant. The second color ink is a magenta ink containing 1.5 to 5% by weight of a pigment as a coloring material, and the third color ink is 1.5% as a coloring material. It is a yellow ink containing up to 5% by weight of a pigment.
[0012]
According to this, black dots contain 2 to 4% by weight of a pigment, a cyan ink containing 1 to 4% by weight of a pigment, and a magenta ink containing 1.5 to 5% by weight of a pigment. The black ink droplets scattered on the surface of the printing medium when a black image area is printed on a printing medium such as a fabric because the yellow ink containing 5 to 5% by weight of the pigment is formed on the printing medium. It is possible to suppress the black dots due to the above from being conspicuous in places other than the black image area of the print medium, and since the black dots in the black image area have a sufficient black density, Quality can be maintained.
[0013]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the inkjet printer according to the third aspect, the control unit may adjust a discharge amount of the black ink in an area where black is to be printed on the print medium to be 14 to 21 μl / inch. 2 And the discharge amounts of the first to third color inks are 4 to 7 μl / inch, respectively. 2 And the total ejection amount of the color inks of the first to third colors is 14 to 21 μl / inch. 2 It is characterized in that the black ink ejection section and the first to third ink ejection sections are controlled as described below.
[0014]
According to this, the discharge amount of the black ink and the total discharge amount of the color inks of the first to third colors are respectively 14 to 21 μl / inch. 2 By performing the following control, the total ink ejection amount of the black image area, which is the sum of the ejection amount of the black ink and the total ejection amount of the color inks of the first to third colors, is 42 μl / inch. 2 When an image in which the black image area and the other color image area are adjacent to each other is printed on the print medium, the blur of the black image area generated at the boundary between the black image area and the other color image area is as follows. Can be suppressed, and the image quality can be improved.
[0015]
An ink jet printer according to a fourth aspect of the present invention is used for printing on fabric.
[0016]
According to this, since the cloth can be used as a print medium, the cloth is scattered outside the black image area without being limited by the kind of the cloth such as cotton, polyester, and a blend thereof, and without being influenced by the knitting method. It is possible to suppress the black dots caused by the black ink droplets from becoming conspicuous.
[0017]
The ink-jet printing method according to
[0018]
According to this, a black dot is formed by overlapping black ink with black mixed with the first to third color inks, so that when a black image area is printed on a print medium such as a fabric, It is possible to suppress the black dots due to the black ink droplets scattered on the surface of the print medium from being noticeable in a portion other than the black image area of the print medium, and it is possible to obtain a print medium with improved image quality.
[0019]
In the ink jet printing method according to claim 6 of the present invention, the black ink contains 2 to 4% by weight of a pigment as a coloring material, and the first color ink contains 1 to 4% by weight of a pigment as a coloring material. The second color ink is a magenta ink containing 1.5 to 5% by weight of a pigment as a coloring material, and the third color ink is 1.a. It is a yellow ink containing 5 to 5% by weight of a pigment.
[0020]
According to this, a black ink containing 2 to 4% by weight of a pigment, a cyan ink containing 1 to 4% by weight of a pigment, a magenta ink containing 1.5 to 5% by weight of a pigment, Since black dots are formed by overlapping black mixed with yellow ink containing 5% by weight of a pigment, when a black image area is printed on a printing medium such as a cloth, the surface of the printing medium is It is possible to suppress the black dots due to the black ink droplets scattered in the printing medium from being conspicuous in places other than the black image area of the print medium, and the black dots in the black image area have a sufficient black density. It is possible to maintain the quality of the black image area of the print medium.
[0021]
In the inkjet printing method according to the seventh aspect of the present invention, the discharge amount of black ink in an area on a print medium where black is to be printed is 14 to 21 μl / inch. 2 And the discharge amounts of the first to third color inks are 4 to 7 μl / inch, respectively. 2 And the total ejection amount of the color inks of the first to third colors is 14 to 21 μl / inch. 2 The method is characterized in that black ink and color inks of first to third colors are ejected as described below.
[0022]
According to this, the total ink discharge amount in the black image area, which is the sum of the black ink discharge amount and the total discharge amounts of the first to third color inks, is 42 μl / inch. 2 When an image in which the black image area and the other color image area are adjacent to each other is printed on the print medium, the blur of the black image area generated at the boundary between the black image area and the other color image area is as follows. Can be suppressed, and a print medium with improved image quality can be obtained.
[0023]
The ink jet printing method according to claim 8 of the present invention is characterized in that the print medium is a fabric.
[0024]
According to this, since the black dots are formed on the print medium by overlapping the black ink and the black mixed with the first to third color inks, it is possible to use the cloth for the print medium. Become. Accordingly, it is possible to print a black image region in which black dots due to scattering of black ink droplets are not visually noticeable on the cloth, and it is possible to obtain a cloth with improved image quality.

Subsequently, black ink, cyan ink, magenta ink, and yellow ink were prepared in the following manner.
[0055]
The materials are added to the sub-tank with the stirring function at the compounding ratios shown in Table 1, and the first solutions of the cyan ink, the magenta ink, the yellow ink, and the black ink discharged from the inkjet heads 6a to 6d by being dispersed using a sand mill are used. Created. The mixing ratios A to D of the pigment in the first solution for each ink were prepared while being changed so as to conform to the colorant concentration of each ink shown in Table 2. That is, when the color material density of the cyan ink is 0.8, 1, 2.5, and 4% by weight, A becomes 3.2, 4, 10, and 16% by weight in order, and the color material density of the magenta ink is 1 In the case of .2, 1.5, 3, 5 wt%, B becomes 4.8, 6, 12, 20 wt% in order, and the color material density of the yellow ink is 1.2, 1.5, 3, 5 In the case of weight%, C becomes 4.8, 6, 12, 20% by weight in order, and when the color material density of the black ink is 2, 4, 6, 8% by weight, D becomes 8, 16, 24 in order. , 32% by weight. Then, the value obtained by subtracting the pigment mixture ratio of each ink of the first solution suitable for the color material concentration of each ink shown in Table 2 from the mixture ratio of purified water of each first solution of 77.9% by weight is obtained. It is the blending ratio of purified water.
[0056]
[Table 1]
[0057]
[Table 2]
[0058]
The first solution of each ink thus obtained is mixed with a second solution containing diethylene glycol, an acrylic resin emulsion and purified water. The mixing ratio of the mixed solution obtained by mixing the first solution and the second solution is as follows: the first solution of each ink is 25% by weight, the diethylene glycol is 40% by weight, the acrylic resin emulsion is E% by weight, and the purified water F (F = 35-E)% by weight. The acrylic resin emulsion used had a solid content of 40% by weight dispersed in water.
[0059]
Further, the concentration of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid that finally becomes the black ink (black ink having a color material concentration of 2, 4, 6, or 8% by weight) shown in Table 2 corresponds to the color material concentration of the black ink, respectively. The concentration was adjusted so as to be the same as the solid concentration. That is, when the color material concentration of the black ink shown in Table 2 was 8% by weight, the mixture ratio of the acrylic resin emulsion in the mixed liquid was 20% by weight, and the emulsion concentration was adjusted to 8% by weight. In the other cases where the color material concentration of the black ink shown in Table 2 is 2, 4, and 6% by weight, the mixture ratio E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid is 5, 10, and 15% by weight, respectively, and the emulsion concentration is respectively It was adjusted to 2% by weight, 4% by weight and 6% by weight. Then, the value obtained by subtracting the mixture ratio E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixture liquid suitable for the color material concentration of the black ink shown in Table 2 from the mixture ratio of purified water of the mixture liquid of 35% by weight is the mixed solution of purified water. In the formula.
[0060]
Further, the concentration of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid that finally becomes the cyan ink (cyan ink having a color material concentration of 0.8, 1, 2.5, or 4% by weight) shown in Table 2 is based on the cyan ink color material. The concentration was adjusted so that the solid content concentration was twice the concentration corresponding to each concentration. That is, in the case of 4% by weight of the coloring material concentration of the cyan ink shown in Table 2, the mixing ratio of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid was set to 20% by weight, and the emulsion concentration was adjusted to 8% by weight. In the other cases where the colorant concentrations of the cyan inks shown in Table 2 are 0.8, 1, and 2.5% by weight, the mixing ratio E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid is 4, 5, 12.5% by weight, respectively. The emulsion concentrations were adjusted to 1.6% by weight, 2% by weight, and 5% by weight, respectively. Then, the value obtained by subtracting the mixture ratio E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixture liquid suitable for the color material concentration of the cyan ink shown in Table 2 from the mixture ratio of purified water of the mixture liquid of 35% by weight is the mixed solution of purified water. In the formula.
[0061]
Further, the concentration of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid that finally becomes the magenta ink (the magenta ink having a color material concentration of 1.2, 1.5, 3, and 5% by weight) shown in Table 2 is the concentration of the magenta ink. The concentration was adjusted so that the solid content concentration was twice the concentration corresponding to each concentration. That is, in the case of 5% by weight of the color material concentration of the magenta ink shown in Table 2, the mixture ratio of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid was 25% by weight, and the emulsion concentration was adjusted to 10% by weight. In the other cases where the color material concentrations of the magenta inks shown in Table 2 were 1.2, 1.5 and 3% by weight, the mixing ratios E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid were changed to 6, 7.5 and 15% by weight, respectively. The emulsion concentrations were adjusted to 2.4% by weight, 3% by weight, and 6% by weight, respectively. Then, the value obtained by subtracting the mixing ratio E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid suitable for the color material concentration of the magenta ink shown in Table 2 from the mixing ratio of the purified water of the mixed liquid of 35% by weight is the mixed liquid of the purified water. In the formula.

Further, the concentration of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid that finally becomes the yellow ink (color material concentration of 1.2, 1.5, 3, and 5% by weight) shown in Table 2 is the color material of the yellow ink. The concentration was adjusted so that the solid content concentration was twice the concentration corresponding to each concentration. That is, when the coloring material concentration of the yellow ink shown in Table 2 was 5% by weight, the mixture ratio of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid was 25% by weight, and the emulsion concentration was adjusted to 10% by weight. In the other cases where the color material concentration of the yellow ink shown in Table 2 is 1.2, 1.5, and 3% by weight, the mixing ratio E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixed liquid is changed to 6, 7.5, and 15% by weight, respectively. The emulsion concentrations were adjusted to 2.4% by weight, 3% by weight, and 6% by weight, respectively. Then, the value obtained by subtracting the mixture ratio E of the acrylic resin emulsion of the mixture liquid suitable for the colorant concentration of the yellow ink shown in Table 2 from the mixture ratio of the purified water of the mixed liquid of 35% by weight is the mixed solution of the purified water. In the formula.
[0063]
The mixed liquid of each ink having such a mixing ratio was filtered through a 10 μm membrane filter to prepare each color ink shown in Table 2, and a substantially square yellow image was formed in the center of the

The preferred embodiment of the present invention has been described above. However, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various design changes can be made within the scope of the appended claims. For example, in the ink jet printer 1 of the present embodiment, the color material (pigment) concentration of each ink is not limited to the above, and the ink ejection amount is 28 to 42 μl / inch. 2 There is no particular limitation so as to fall within the range described above, as long as the black dot is formed by overlapping the black ink droplet and the three color ink droplets. By doing so, it is possible to suppress the black dots formed by the black ink droplets scattered outside the black image area from being conspicuous, and it is possible to improve the image quality.
[0074]
The above-described inkjet printer can be applied to recording paper other than cloth. Further, the structure of the ink jet head is not particularly limited as long as the inks of the four colors are independently ejected. Further, the present invention can be applied not only to a serial type ink jet printer in which an ink jet head reciprocates together with a carriage, but also to a line type ink jet printer.
[0075]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to suppress black dots caused by scattered black ink droplets other than a black image area printed on a print medium, thereby improving image quality. Can be.
