サブバックライト10はLED、EL(エレクトロ・ルミネッセンス)等である。
着信ランプ16はLED、EL(エレクトロ・ルミネッセンス)等である。

[0037]
Then, the illuminance sensor 3 detects the necessary degree of illumination at the time of shooting by the camera 1 based on the surrounding brightness.
[0038]
The illuminance sensor 3 outputs a signal indicating that "illumination is required at the time of shooting" when the ambient brightness is, for example, 10 lux or less. When the shutter speed is 10 lux or less, for example, 5 lux or more, a signal indicating that "illumination is required when the shutter is activated" is output. If the lux is 5 lux or less, a signal indicating that "illumination is required during the shooting period of the subject" is output. Here, the operation of the shutter means a time when the shutter moves and, for example, guides light into the camera 1. Further, the value of the surrounding brightness (10 lux and 5 lux) may be appropriately changed by the portable terminal device.
[0039]
When the drive circuit 4 receives a signal indicating that “illumination is required when the shutter is activated” from the illuminance sensor 3, the drive circuit 4 displays the sub liquid crystal device 9 in white (to increase the transmittance of the sub liquid crystal device 9). White display). When the operator points the camera 1 at the subject and presses a shutter (not shown), the drive circuit 4 momentarily turns on the sub-backlight 10 at a predetermined first brightness in accordance with the operation of the shutter.
[0040]
The first brightness is the brightness when, for example, an upper limit current of the rated current value of the sub backlight 10 is passed through the sub backlight 10. The current may be changed as appropriate without depending on the upper limit current.
[0041]
As described above, by flashing the sub liquid crystal device 9 for a moment like a strobe (flash) in accordance with the operation of the shutter instead of the strobe device, the subject can be photographed even in a dark place where illumination is required.
[0042]
Further, when photographing a subject in darkness where the subject cannot be seen without illumination (the brightness around the

The second brightness is the brightness when, for example, / of the upper limit current of the rated current value of the sub backlight 10 flows through the sub backlight 10. The magnitude of this current may be appropriately changed depending on the system.
[0044]
In this way, by illuminating the sub liquid crystal device 9 with the second brightness instead of the illumination, the subject can be illuminated in the dark so that the subject cannot be seen without illumination, and the subject can be confirmed. Instead of a strobe device, the subject can be photographed by flashing the sub liquid crystal device 9 at a first brightness for a moment like a strobe (flash) in accordance with the operation of a shutter.
