Abstract
Description
【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to a strip of a CVT transmission chain, and more particularly to an improvement of a strip used for a transmission chain of a CVT (continuously variable transmission) for a vehicle.
[0002]
In this specification, the "contact end surface" refers to an end surface that comes into contact with the cone pulley action surface of the strip, the "axial direction" refers to the extending direction of the strip, and the "moving direction" refers to the state of attachment of the strip to the chain. , A direction parallel to the circumferential direction of the chain and orthogonal to the axial direction, and the “vertical direction” refers to a direction orthogonal to the axial direction and the moving direction.
[0003]
[Prior art]
In the CVT, a plurality of endless transmission chains arranged side by side are wound between two pairs of separated cone pulleys. It is configured. The side-by-side chain is made up of a number of links connected in series, through which common pins and strips extend.
[0004]
In the construction of the links, the strips serve to support the pins, and the pins and the strips come into contact along their cooperating sides as they rotate in relation to each other.
[0005]
During the operation of the CVT, the chain is driven by frictional contact between the contact end surface of the pin and the rotating cone pulley action surface to rotate the chain. However, the strip supporting the pins may also come into contact with the cone pulley working surface.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the configuration described above, when the link around which the chain circulates approaches the cone pulley, the strip engaging with it enters the cone pulley pair. At this time, if the contact end face of the strip comes into striking contact with the working surface of the cone pulley, noise is generated.
[0007]
This noise is determined by the magnitude of the impact energy per unit time. The magnitude of the impact energy is proportional to the kinetic energy of the strip, that is, the square of the moving speed. Therefore, the higher the speed of the CVT operation, the larger and more the noise is generated. However, in the conventional CVT, almost no effective countermeasures against the generation of such noise are taken.
[0008]
An object of the present invention in view of the current state of the prior art is to effectively suppress generation of noise during operation of a CVT.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
Therefore, in the strip of the present invention, (a) a curved portion or an inclined portion is formed extending in the moving direction on the contact end face, and / or (b) at least one of the upper and lower ends of the contact end face is formed. (C) at least one concave groove extending in at least one of the vertical direction and the moving direction is formed on the contact end face, and / or (d) the contact is curved in the moving direction. The gist is that at least one groove extending in the axial direction is formed in at least one of the upper and lower ends of the end face.
[0010]
[Action]
Due to the presence of the curved portion or the inclined portion or the concave groove, an oil reservoir is formed between the working surface of the cone pulley and the contact end surface of the strip, which acts as a kind of cushion. The strip smoothly enters between the cone pulleys due to the presence of the curved portion or the inclined portion. Also, the ridges or projections existing between the concave grooves vibrate to absorb the impact energy. As a result, generation of noise is effectively suppressed.

Further, as still another embodiment of the third invention, as shown in FIG. 9,
[0024]
Also in the case of this embodiment, the convex portion or the projecting portion between the concave grooves vibrates at the time of hitting contact with the working surface of the cone pulley. That is, since the impact energy is converted into vibration energy and the conversion into sound energy is reduced accordingly, the generation of noise is effectively suppressed.
[0025]
The first to third inventions and the embodiments described above may be appropriately combined and adopted. Further, the two contact end faces of one
[0026]
Further, in the above embodiment, two holes are formed in one link, and one strip is arranged in each hole. However, the present invention is also applicable to a configuration in which two strips are arranged in one hole. That is, irrespective of the number of strips arranged in one hole, the intended effect, that is, the effect of suppressing noise can be obtained by applying the present invention.
[0027]
【The invention's effect】
The generation of noise is greatly suppressed by the cushioning action of the oil reservoir and / or the smooth entry between the cone pulleys and / or the vibration of a part of the strip.
