Abstract
Description
【0001】

[Industrial applications]
The present invention relates to a pin of a CVT transmission chain, and more particularly to an improvement of a pin used for a transmission chain of a CVT (continuously variable transmission) for a vehicle.
[0002]
In this specification, the “contact end face” refers to an end face in contact with a cone pulley action surface of a pin, the “axial direction” refers to a direction in which both contact end faces are directed to a pin, and the “movement direction” refers to a chain of pins. In the state of attachment to the chain, it refers to a direction parallel to the circumferential direction of the chain and perpendicular to the axial direction.
[0003]
[Prior art]
In the CVT, a plurality of endless transmission chains arranged side by side are wound between two pairs of separated cone pulleys. It is configured. The side-by-side chain is composed of a number of links connected in series, and a common pin extends through these links.
[0004]
During operation of the CVT, the chain is driven by frictional contact between the contact end surface of the pin and the rotating cone pulley action surface, and the chain goes around. The contact end face of the pin has a vertical inclination of usually 11 degrees for contact with the cone pulley action surface.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above configuration, when the link around which the chain circulates approaches the cone pulley, the pin engaging with it enters the cone pulley pair. At this time, the contact end surface of the pin comes into striking contact with the working surface of the cone pulley, generating noise.
[0006]
This noise is determined by the magnitude of the impact energy per unit time. The magnitude of the impact energy is proportional to the kinetic energy of the pin, that is, the square of the moving speed. Therefore, the higher the speed of the CVT operation, the larger and more the noise is generated. However, in the conventional CVT, almost no effective countermeasures against the generation of such noise are taken.
[0007]
An object of the present invention in view of the current state of the prior art is to effectively suppress generation of noise during operation of a CVT.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
For this reason, the pin of the CVT transmission chain of the present invention has (a) at least one-step inclined portion extending in the moving direction and converging to the entry side on the contact end face of the pin, and / or Or (b) a curved portion or an inclined portion is formed on at least a part of the contact end face of the pin so as to extend at least in the vertical direction, and / or (c) at least one of the vertical direction and the moving direction. The gist is that at least one groove extending in the groove is formed.
[0009]
[Action]
Due to the presence of the curved portion, the inclined portion or the concave groove, an oil reservoir is formed between the working surface of the cone pulley and the contact end surface of the pin, and this forms a kind of cushioning action. The pin smoothly enters between the cone pulleys due to the presence of the curved portion or the inclined portion. Also, the ridges or projections existing between the concave grooves vibrate to absorb the impact energy. As a result, generation of noise is effectively suppressed.

In the above embodiment, two holes are formed in one link, and one pin is arranged in each hole. However, the present invention is also applicable to a configuration in which two pins are arranged in one hole. That is, irrespective of the number of pins arranged in one hole, the intended effect, that is, the effect of suppressing noise can be obtained by applying the present invention.
[0028]
【The invention's effect】
The generation of noise is largely suppressed by the cushion action of the oil reservoir and / or the smooth entry between the cone pulleys and / or the vibration of a part of the pin.
