Abstract
Description
【0001】
【0036】
Q1=C・(V0−V2−VD)
【0037】
Q2=I・tE
【0038】
C≧I・tE/(V0−V2−VD)

[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In an electronic device such as a memory card, the power supply is suddenly reduced due to an unexpected power-off such as being pulled out of a slot during operation, and the electronic device may be damaged. As a countermeasure, for example, a method of incorporating a backup battery in a circuit of an electronic device and switching to the backup battery when the power is unexpectedly shut down can be considered.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, the present inventor has studied the above-described power supply backup technology when the power supply of the electronic device is cut off, and as a result, the following has become clear.
[0004]
For example, as a power backup technique when power is unexpectedly shut down, a method of providing a circuit for detecting power shutdown and switching to a backup battery in response to a power shutdown detection signal can be considered. However, in this method, a circuit for detecting power interruption and a switching circuit are required in the power supply backup circuit, and the circuit scale is increased.
[0005]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a power supply backup circuit that is small-scale and space-saving.
[0006]
The above and other objects and novel features of the present invention will become apparent from the description of the present specification and the accompanying drawings.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The following is a brief description of an outline of typical inventions disclosed in the present application.
[0008]
(1) The power supply backup circuit according to the present invention is composed of a capacitor, a resistor, a diode, and the like. When the power is turned on, the charge is stored in the capacitor via the resistor. It flows to another device via the power supply device and supplies power to the other device.
[0009]
(2) In the power supply backup circuit according to the above (1), the capacitance value of the capacitor in the power supply backup circuit is further determined based on the time required for power-off measures and the value of current consumption, and the power-supply backup circuit is required for power-off measures. [0013]
Therefore, according to the above (1) to (5), it is possible to take measures against power cutoff with a small-sized and space-saving circuit configuration.
[0014]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In all the drawings for describing the embodiments, the same members are denoted by the same reference numerals, and a repeated description thereof will be omitted.

Also, during time t E required to erase the memory cell, in passing a current consumption I, the charge amount Q 2 to which is consumed, the quiescent current I is constant, as follows.
[0037]
Q 2 = I · t E
Therefore, in order to complete the erasure of the memory cell before the power supply voltage V CC of the

[0042]
Further, the present invention can be applied to electronic devices other than the memory card, and the effect of the present invention is more effective as the electronic device requires a sudden power-off countermeasure.
[0043]
Further, a power supply backup circuit, a flash memory, and the like can be formed on one semiconductor substrate.
[0044]
In addition, if the resistance element is omitted from the circuit, it is possible to make use of the reverse current characteristic of the diode and reduce the inrush current to perform charging.
[0045]
Further, in the above embodiment, the case where the power supply voltage is a positive voltage has been described, but the present invention is also applicable to the case where the power supply voltage is a negative voltage. However, when the power supply voltage is a negative voltage, the direction of the diode in the power supply backup circuit is reversed.
[0046]

The effects obtained by typical aspects of the invention disclosed in the present application will be briefly described as follows.
[0047]
(1) Switching to a backup capacitor is possible with a small circuit configuration.
[0048]
(2) Since the circuit scale is small, it is possible to take measures to cut off the power in a small space.
