Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for inspecting a phosphor, and more particularly to a method and an apparatus for inspecting a phosphor which are preferably applied when inspecting the appearance of phosphors arranged and formed on a plasma display panel.

FIG. 8A is a schematic plan view showing an image of a
[0003]
In PDP, since the coloring accuracy depends on the quality of the adhesion of the phosphor, it is important to inspect the phosphor for defects. As an example of such a defect of the phosphor, an example of a mixed color defect in which the phosphor of B is partially attached to the phosphor of G as shown in FIG. 2 shows an example of a color missing defect in which the B phosphor is partially missing. Although illustration is omitted, there are a total of six types of mixed color defects from combinations of RGB.
[0004]
FIGS. 10A and 10B show a plan view and a cross-sectional view corresponding to FIGS. 8A and 8B, respectively, as well as a vertical sectional view. As shown in FIG. (C), there is a foreign substance under the phosphor buried under the phosphor.
[0005]
Incidentally, as a method of inspecting the appearance of the phosphor formed on the

(2) In the white light method, as shown in the image of FIG. 12, one of the white light systems is to target white light guided by an optical fiber from a light source (not shown) from an obliquely upward direction through an optical
[0008]
The other one is, as shown in the image of FIG. The image of the specularly reflected light is imaged and irregularly reflected at the defective portion, so that the image is formed as a dark portion. Therefore, the defective portion is detected. In any case, a fluorescent light, a halogen lamp, a metal halide lamp, or the like can be used as a light source.
[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the case of the (1) UV light method, as shown in FIG. Since an image is taken, there is a problem that the foreign substance under the phosphor as shown by a broken line in the figure cannot be inspected because it does not appear on the image.
[0010]
(2) In the case of the white light method, it is possible to inspect the surface foreign matter adhered after the phosphor is dried or the loss (deletion) of the phosphor which causes the color loss, but the phosphor in a state where no light is emitted can be inspected. Since all colors are the same color (generally white), there is a problem that mixed color inspection cannot be performed.
[0011]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and provides a phosphor inspection method and apparatus capable of inspecting a foreign substance under a phosphor and a surface foreign substance, in addition to color mixing or color omission of a phosphor. As an issue.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention is a phosphor inspection method for inspecting an inspection object in which phosphors emitting respective colors of RGB are formed and arranged, wherein a white light is emitted to a predetermined inspection position on the inspection object. The above-mentioned problem is solved by irradiating an image once with irradiation and irradiating the inspection position with ultraviolet light to image once or more.
[0013]
The present invention is also a phosphor inspection apparatus for inspecting an inspection object in which phosphors emitting respective colors of R, G, and B are arranged and arranged, wherein a predetermined inspection position on the inspection object is white. One white light illuminating means for irradiating light, one or more ultraviolet light illuminating means for irradiating ultraviolet light to the inspection position, and an image input means for imaging the same inspection position under light irradiation by each illumination means The above-mentioned problem has been solved in the same manner.
[0014]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0015]
FIG. 1 is a schematic perspective view showing an entire phosphor inspection apparatus according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing a main configuration of a control system of the inspection apparatus.
[0016]
The inspection apparatus according to the present embodiment includes a stage 30 on which a workpiece (PDP back plate) 10 to be inspected is placed, first to third inspection units indicated by “

Next, the operation of the present embodiment will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.

[0022]
In this difference processing, FIG. 5 (A) shows an image of an input image in which only the G color portion, which has been input using the G filter, has high luminance, and an image of the output of the line sensor in line L. As shown in FIG. 2B, this corresponds to obtaining a difference in luminance value between patterns having a constant pitch (per cycle). After the difference processing between the patterns indicated by the arrows in FIG. 9B, the pixels exceeding a predetermined threshold are binarized into a binary image (not shown) in the processing result (step 4). After labeling the position (step 5), pass / fail judgment is made based on the size of the labeling area (step 6). In the example of FIG. 5, since the middle pattern of the three G patterns has color mixture, the luminance is greatly reduced, and thus this position is labeled.
[0023]
Next, for the same inspection position, the inspection processing from step 2 to step 6 described above is also performed by the cameras 20B and 20C of the second and third inspection units (inputs 2 and 3). The inspection results obtained by the inspection unit are integrated, the inspection at the same position is completed, and the processing of
[0024]
By taking an image with the second inspection unit as described above, a pattern image corresponding to FIG. 5 can also be input for the B image. In this way, by inputting G and B respectively, it is possible to detect a mixed color of B or R in the case of a G image, and to detect a mixed color of G or R in the case of a B image. B color mixture can also be detected. Therefore, the color mixture of all the RGB colors can be detected by the two imaging operations.
[0025]
According to the present embodiment described above, in addition to the color mixing of RGB, foreign substances under the fluorescent material that can be seen only with visible light can be inspected with high accuracy without causing any omission in the inspection by combining the inspection units with different optical conditions. Can be inspected.
[0026]
In addition, by using the first and second inspection units having a UV light source, it is possible to reliably inspect even if there is no difference in brightness between RGB light emission on a monochrome camera.
[0027]
In addition, since it is possible to carry out an inspection of three colors of RGB by two sets of inspection units, it is possible to exclude one color having the worst luminous efficiency from an object of image input, so that the color is developed. There is also an advantage that it does not cost as compared with developing a dedicated light source.
[0028]
Next, a phosphor inspection apparatus according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[0029]
In the present embodiment, the first and second inspection units having the
[0030]
In the present embodiment, a Y color filter, which is a complementary color of B, is used to capture an RG image at the same time, and a C color filter, which is a complementary color of R, is used to capture a GB image.
[0031]
According to the present embodiment, when an image is input through a C filter as shown in FIG. 7A as an extreme example of a light emission pattern in which color mixture occurs between each of RGB, FIG. When only GB is input as a high-luminance area and an image is input through a Y filter as shown in FIG. Accordingly, it is possible to reliably detect color mixture or color omission for all RGB colors. Needless to say, when inputting a GB image, an M (magenta) filter may be used.
[0032]
As described above, the present invention has been specifically described. However, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and can be variously modified without departing from the gist thereof.
[0033]
For example, in the above-described embodiment, an inspection apparatus including two (two sets) UV inspection units having a UV light source has been described, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the number of UV inspection units may be one or more. . That is, when there is a UV light source capable of emitting all the RGB phosphors at the luminance required for the inspection, one (one set) of inspection units including one UV light source and a color camera or a monochrome camera is used. There may be. However, in the case of a monochrome camera, RGB must be input as different luminance values on the image.
[0034]
In addition, when it is necessary to change the type or optical condition of the UV light source to cause the phosphor to emit light, or when two or more phosphors are input as the same luminance value on a monochrome camera, the UV inspection unit May be divided into two sets or more as shown in the above embodiment.
[0035]
Even when two or more UV inspection units are required, color omission can be detected even by inspection using white light. Therefore, by combining a UV light source and a color separation filter, at least two UV inspection units can be used. It is possible to detect a mixture of colors.
[0036]
Further, as in the case of the above-described embodiment, a case has been described in which three inspections are performed by the first to third dedicated inspection units, respectively. However, the present invention is not limited to this. , The same visual field may be reciprocated three times.
[0037]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to reliably inspect the phosphor for foreign matter under color and surface foreign matter, as well as color mixing and color omission of the phosphor.
