Abstract
Description
【0001】

例えば、PA(ポリアミド)、PI(ポリイミド)、PAI(ポリアミドイミド)、PEI(ポリエーテルイミド)、PPS(ポリフェニレンサルファイド)、PEEK(ポリエーテルエーテルケトン)、PEKK(ポリエーテルケトンケトン)、PEK(ポリエーテルケトン)、PBT(ポリブチレンテレフタラート)、PET(ポリエチレンテレフタラート)、LCP(液晶ポリマー)、PSU(ポリサルホン)、PES(ポリエーテルサルホン)、PTES(ポリチオエーテルサルホン)、PFA(4ふっ化エチレン・パーフルオロアルコキシエーテル共重合体)、PTFE(ポリテトラフルオロエチレン)、PVdF(ポリふっ化ビニリデン)、PFEP(パーフロロエチレンプロピレンコポリマー)が挙げられる。
【0026】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a non-aqueous electrolyte battery represented by a lithium ion secondary battery, and more particularly, to a non-aqueous electrolyte battery in which metal aluminum or an aluminum alloy is used for a positive electrode current collector and is reflow-soldered to a circuit board. .
[0002]
[Prior art]
A portable device such as a mobile phone is provided with a battery for a main power supply and a circuit board. In many cases, a non-aqueous electrolyte battery typified by a flat lithium ion secondary battery is attached to the circuit board as a power supply for backing up the memory.
[0003]
A non-aqueous electrolyte battery is configured such that a power generating element in which a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are stacked via a separator is housed in an outer can, and the separator is impregnated with a non-aqueous electrolyte in which a lithium salt is dissolved. ing.
In a flat type nonaqueous electrolyte battery, the outer can is configured by combining a positive can and a negative can, and the positive plate is electrically connected to the positive can and the negative plate is electrically connected to the negative can.
[0004]
The output voltage of such a non-aqueous electrolyte battery is determined by the types of the positive electrode active material and the negative electrode active material to be used. Select to configure the battery. For example, manganese dioxide has conventionally been used as a positive electrode active material and lithium metal as a negative electrode active material in order to construct a non-aqueous battery with a 3V-class output voltage. Lithium transition metal composite oxide capable of inserting and removing lithium ions at a high potential of 4.0 V (vs. Li / Li + ) or higher as a positive electrode active material as a material having a potential higher than manganese dioxide or lithium. It has been studied to use a material such as LiCoO 2 , LiNiO 2 , and LiMn 2 O 4, and use a spinel-type lithium-titanium composite oxide having a higher potential than lithium metal as the negative electrode active material. At this time, as the positive electrode current collector which is in direct contact with the positive electrode plate, metal aluminum or an aluminum alloy which is hardly corroded in a non-aqueous electrolyte is used.
[0005]
At present, LiPF 6 having a high degree of dissociation is widely used as a lithium salt for a non-aqueous electrolyte. Further, this LiPF 6 can provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery having excellent stability even when a high-potential positive electrode active material is used.
For example,
[0006]
By the way, in general, when components are mounted on a circuit board, it is desirable to automate as little manual work as possible.
When soldering a non-aqueous electrolyte battery to a circuit board, automatic mounting by reflow soldering is desired, but in practice, soldering is performed manually.
[0007]
The reason is that when performing reflow soldering of the battery, but the battery is exposed to temperatures higher than 200 ° C., the use of LiPF 6 as a solute, because the LiPF 6 is decomposed at a temperature of around 200 ° C., Battery performance may be reduced (see

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Against this background, in order to be able to reflow solder a non-aqueous electrolyte battery to a circuit board, the use of a heat-resistant lithium salt as a solute of the non-aqueous electrolyte is also being studied. .
For example, Patent Document 3 discloses the use of imide fluorine-containing lithium salt such as represented by LiN (C n F 2n + 1 SO 2) (C m F 2m + 1 SO 2).
[0012]
This imide type fluorine-containing lithium salt is suitable as a solute for a battery for reflow soldering in that it has excellent heat resistance. However, such a lithium salt is 4.0 V (vs. Li) like LiCoO 2 , LiNiO 2 and LiMn 2 O 4 described above. / Li + ) When a lithium transition metal composite oxide capable of inserting and removing lithium ions at a potential higher than or equal to is used as a positive electrode active material, aluminum used for a positive electrode current collector is corroded and its current collecting function Therefore, it cannot be practically used in combination with a positive electrode active material capable of obtaining such a high potential.
[0013]
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and a lithium transition metal composite oxide capable of inserting and removing lithium ions at a potential of 4.0 V (vs. Li / Li + ) or more is used as a positive electrode. An object of the present invention is to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery which is suitable for reflow soldering in which aluminum as a positive electrode current collector is not corroded and exposed to a temperature of 200 ° C. or more even when used as an active material. And
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a non-aqueous electrolyte battery in which metallic aluminum or an aluminum alloy is used for a positive electrode current collector and which is reflow soldered to a circuit board. and C n F 2n + 1 SO 2 ) (C m F 2m + 1 at least one organic fluorine-containing lithium salt represented by SO 2), using a LiPF 6, and the molar ratio of LiPF 6 to the organic fluorine-containing lithium salt, The ratio is set to 99: 1 or more and less than 95: 5. Here, in the above chemical formula, n and m are arbitrary positive integers, and usually, the values of n and m are 1, 2 or 3.
[0015]
According to the nonaqueous electrolyte battery having the above configuration, since a small amount of LiPF 6 is contained in the electrolyte, lithium ions are inserted into the positive electrode active material at a potential of 4.0 V (vs. Li / Li + ) or higher. Dissolution of aluminum of the positive electrode current collector is suppressed even when a detachable lithium transition metal composite oxide is used. Accordingly, deterioration of battery characteristics due to dissolution of the positive electrode current collector is suppressed.
[0016]
That is, in a battery that is charged at a potential of 4.0 V (vs. Li / Li + ) or more, generally, the aluminum of the positive electrode current collector may be dissolved. In a battery, such a problem is suppressed.
Further, when the nonaqueous electrolyte battery is reflow-soldered to a circuit board, even if the battery is exposed to a high temperature of about 200 ° C., the lithium salt does not decompose and the internal pressure of the battery does not greatly increase. , The battery performance is maintained.
[0017]
The nonaqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention is mainly applied to a secondary battery, but can also be applied to a primary battery.
[0018]
[Embodiment of the present invention]

[0034]
The reason why the heat resistance is good, good LiN (C n F 2n + 1 SO 2) heat resistance as the electrolyte (C m F 2m + 1 SO 2) as a main component, the proportion of LiPF 6 in a molar ratio as low as less than 5% This is because it has been set.
That is, as described above, it is considered that LiPF 6 in the electrolytic solution forms a protective film on the aluminum surface, but LiPF 6 not consumed in the formation of the protective film is decomposed during reflow to increase the internal pressure of the battery. Therefore, the amount of LiPF 6 in the electrolytic solution may be an amount necessary for forming a protective film on the aluminum surface, and this amount is considered to be 1% or more and less than 5% in molar ratio.
[0035]
Note that the appropriate content of LiPF 6 in the electrolyte depends on the area of the aluminum in contact with the electrolyte, and is therefore expected to vary to some extent depending on the size of the battery. As a result of conducting an experiment, it was confirmed that the mixing ratio of LiPF 6 with respect to the whole lithium salt is appropriate in a molar ratio of 1% or more and less than 5%.

In the batteries E and F, the mixing ratio of LiN (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 and LiPF 6 was 99: 5 and 90:10 in molar ratio, and the other conditions were the same as those in the above example.
(Comparative Example 3)
In Battery G, only LiPF 6 was used as the electrolyte.
(Comparative Example 4)
In the battery H, only LiN (C 2 F 5 SO 2 ) 2 was used as the electrolyte.
[0039]
[Table 1]
The following
(Experiment 1) Reflow test The battery was exposed to a high-temperature environment of 250 ° C. for 10 seconds, and before and after the change, the internal resistance and the change in thickness of the battery were measured. The results are as shown in Table 1.
[0040]
In this reflow test, if the increase in battery thickness after reflow falls within 0.05 mm or less, it can be determined that current collection inside the battery is possible. If the increase in battery thickness is 0.05 mm or less and the increase in internal resistance is within 2 times, If there is, it can be determined that it is suitable for reflow soldering.
(Experiment 2) Storage test After the reflow test was performed, the battery was charged at 2.8 V, and the internal resistance was measured every 20 days while being stored in an environment of 60 ° C.
[0041]
The results are as shown in Table 2, and the values of the internal resistance shown in Table 2 are relative values when the internal resistance before reflow (before performing Experiment 1) is set to 100.
The symbol "-" in the table means that evaluation was not performed afterwards because the battery characteristics deteriorated in the process up to that point.
[0042]
[Table 2]
From the results shown in Table 1 above, in the batteries A to D according to Examples 1 to 4, the increase in battery thickness (swelling) after reflow was as small as 0.03 mm or less, and the increase in internal resistance was relatively small. It can be determined that it is suitable for soldering. On the other hand, the batteries E, F, and G according to Comparative Examples 1 to 3 are not suitable for reflow soldering because the increase in battery thickness after reflow is 0.05 mm or more and the increase in internal resistance is large. I understand.
[0043]
Further, as shown in Table 2, in the results of the 60 ° C. storage test, the batteries A to D according to Examples 1 to 4 showed a relatively small increase in the internal resistance, while the batteries A to D according to Comparative Examples 1 to 3. It can be seen that in the batteries E, F, and G, the internal resistance increased sharply.
The above results indicate that, in the batteries E, F, and G, the molar ratio of LiPF 6 to the imide-based fluorine-containing lithium is 95: 5 or more, so that when the battery is heated to a high temperature during reflow soldering, the LiPF 6 is decomposed. As a result, the pressure inside the battery is increased, whereas the decomposition of the lithium salt is suppressed in the batteries A to D.
[0044]
Further, in the battery H, although the increase in the battery thickness after the reflow is small, the internal resistance of the battery has a very large value on the 20th day in the storage test at 60 ° C. This is because the LiPF 6 is not contained in the nonaqueous electrolyte solution, although the decomposition of the lithium salt is less likely to occur at the time of reflow, aluminum contained in the positive electrode current collector may corrode, no longer play a role as a current collector It is thought that it was.
[0045]
From the above results, in the non-electrolyte battery, by setting the molar ratio of LiPF 6 to the imide-based fluorine-containing lithium contained in the non-aqueous electrolyte within the range of 99: 1 or more and less than 95: 5, Corrosion of aluminum, which is a positive electrode current collector, can be suppressed, and it can be made suitable for reflow soldering.
(Modifications, etc.)
In the above embodiment, the lithium secondary battery has been described. However, the present invention can be similarly applied to a lithium primary battery, and has the same effects.
[0046]
At present, a non-aqueous electrolyte battery reflow soldered to a circuit board is mainly a flat type (coin type) non-aqueous electrolyte battery, and thus the present invention is mainly applied to a flat type non-aqueous electrolyte battery. However, the present invention is also applicable to a square or cylindrical non-aqueous electrolyte battery.
Further, in the above embodiment, LiPF 6 was mixed as an inorganic acid lithium salt together with an imide-based fluorine-containing lithium salt as a solute of the non-aqueous electrolyte, but instead of LiPF 6 with respect to the imide-based fluorine-containing lithium salt. , LiAsF 6 , LiSbF 6 or LiBF 4 can be expected to have the same effect when mixed in a molar ratio of 99: 1 or more and less than 95: 5.
[0047]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, a lithium transition metal composite oxide capable of inserting and / or removing lithium ions at a potential of 4.0 V (vs. Li / Li + ) or more as a positive electrode active material is provided. used, metallic aluminum or aluminum alloy is used for the positive electrode current collector, in the non-aqueous electrolyte battery to be reflow soldered to the circuit board, the solute of the
[0048]
Therefore, the present invention is a valuable technique for automatically soldering a nonaqueous electrolyte battery to a circuit board.
