[Industrial applications]
The continuously variable transmission according to the present invention is used, for example, as an automatic transmission for an automobile or as a transmission for adjusting the operating speed of various industrial machines such as a pump. In particular, the present invention has been made to realize a continuously variable transmission having a large speed ratio width.

[0006]
Further, when the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission configured and operating as described above is incorporated in an actual continuously variable transmission for an automobile, it is known that a continuously variable transmission is configured in combination with a planetary gear type transmission unit. As described in JP-A-1-169169, JP-A-1-313266, JP-A-10-196759, and JP-A-11-63146, they have been conventionally proposed.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the case of the continuously variable transmission configured as described above, it is possible to achieve both high transmission efficiency and high durability at a high level. However, when such a continuously variable transmission is used as an automatic transmission of, for example, an off-road vehicle or a vehicle for construction equipment capable of traveling on rough roads, the speed ratio width required by the continuously variable transmission alone is not sufficient. It may not be possible to secure. For this reason, when an automatic transmission that requires a large speed ratio width such as the off-road vehicle or the construction machine vehicle is configured by the continuously variable transmission as described above, in addition to the continuously variable transmission, a sub-transmission and It is necessary to provide another transmission with the continuously variable transmission. However, when an auxiliary transmission is provided in addition to the continuously variable transmission, the size of the automatic transmission itself is increased, the weight is increased, and the degree of freedom of the installation space is reduced. In addition, there is a possibility that manufacturing costs may increase and transmission efficiency may decrease.
The continuously variable transmission according to the present invention has been made in view of such circumstances.
[0025]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The continuously variable transmission according to the present invention includes an input shaft connected to a drive source and rotationally driven by the drive source, an output shaft for extracting power based on rotation of the input shaft, a continuously variable transmission unit, , A first and second power transmission mechanism, and first mode switching means.
The continuously variable transmission unit includes a combination of a toroidal type continuously variable transmission, a second planetary gear type transmission unit, a third and fourth power transmission mechanism, and a second mode switching unit. It is.
Further, the first power transmission mechanism transmits power input to the input shaft to the output shaft via the continuously variable transmission unit.
The second power transmission mechanism transmits power input to the input shaft to the output shaft without passing through the continuously variable transmission unit.
Further, the third power transmission mechanism constituting the continuously variable transmission unit transmits the power input to the input shaft to the first power transmission mechanism via the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission. Things.
Similarly, the fourth power transmission mechanism transmits the power input to the input shaft to the first power transmission mechanism without passing through the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission.
[0026]
Further, the first planetary gear type transmission unit is provided between a first sun gear and a first ring gear disposed around the first sun gear, and is concentric with the first sun gear. The first planetary gear rotatably supported by the rotatably supported first carrier is meshed with the first sun gear and the first ring gear, respectively. Then, the power transmitted through the first power transmission mechanism and the power transmitted through the second power transmission mechanism are divided into the first sun gear, the first ring gear, and the first carrier. And the output shaft is connected to the remaining one of the first sun gear, the first ring gear, and the first carrier.
[0027]
Further, the second planetary gear type transmission unit constituting the continuously variable transmission unit is provided between a second sun gear and a second ring gear disposed around the second sun gear, A second planetary gear rotatably supported by a second carrier rotatably supported concentrically with the second sun gear is meshed with the second sun gear and the second ring gear, respectively. It consists of Then, the power transmitted through the third power transmission mechanism and the power transmitted through the fourth power transmission mechanism are divided between the second sun gear, the second ring gear, and the second carrier. And the first power transmission mechanism is coupled to the remaining one of the second sun gear, the second ring gear, and the second carrier. ing.
[0028]
Further, the first mode switching means transmits the power input to the input shaft to the first planetary gear type transmission unit through the first power transmission mechanism and the second power transmission mechanism. The state is switched.
Further, the second mode switching means constituting the continuously variable transmission unit is configured to transmit the state transmitted to the second planetary gear type transmission unit through the third power transmission mechanism and the fourth power transmission mechanism. Switching.
The first and second mode switching means include a first mode for transmitting power by the first power transmission mechanism and the third power transmission mechanism, and a first mode for transmitting power by the first power transmission mechanism and the third power transmission mechanism. A second mode in which power is transmitted by both the third power transmission mechanism and the fourth power transmission mechanism; a second mode in which the first power transmission mechanism and the second power transmission mechanism are both transmitted; A third mode in which power is transmitted by both the power transmission mechanism and the fourth power transmission mechanism, and both the first power transmission mechanism and the second power transmission mechanism, and the third power transmission mechanism. Switching to the fourth mode for transmitting power with the transmission mechanism is performed.
[0029]
[Action]
According to the continuously variable transmission of the present invention configured as described above, a large speed ratio width can be ensured only by the continuously variable transmission, and therefore, compared to the case where the auxiliary transmission is provided together with the continuously variable transmission, the automatic transmission is not used. Can be reduced in size. Moreover, since the power passing through the toroidal type continuously variable transmission constituting the continuously variable transmission can be reduced, the durability of the toroidal type continuously variable transmission can be reduced even when transmitting large power as a whole. We can secure enough.

Further, in the case of this example, a case where a toroidal type continuously variable transmission is used as the continuously variable transmission is shown, but instead of such a toroidal type continuously variable transmission, a belt type continuously variable transmission is used. It is also possible to use other types of continuously variable transmissions. That is, in the case of a (frictional) continuously variable transmission such as a toroidal type continuously variable transmission or a belt type continuously variable transmission, it is difficult to secure transmission efficiency (transmittable power) as compared with a gear type transmission. Therefore, like the continuously variable transmission of the present invention, a structure that can reduce the power passing through the continuously variable transmission in the speed increasing state and increase the power passing through the planetary gear type transmission unit having high transmission efficiency, in other words, If the transmission is incorporated in a structure that can reduce the transmission power of the continuously variable transmission in the speed increasing state, the application range of various continuously variable transmissions such as the toroidal-type continuously variable transmission and the belt-type continuously variable transmission can be expanded.
[0067]
【The invention's effect】
Since the present invention is configured and operates as described above, it can contribute to the realization of a small and lightweight continuously variable transmission having a large speed ratio width.
