Description
【0001】

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above-described conventional exhaust gas collecting apparatus, there are various inconveniences because the amount of exhaust gas held in the collecting container is not grasped. For example, when collecting exhaust gas, it is not known how much exhaust gas can be collected. Despite this, the collection may be terminated and the effect of suppressing the release of harmful substances by the collection device may not be sufficiently exhibited. When returning the exhaust gas held in the collection container to the intake passage, it is desirable to discharge the exhaust gas until the collection container is at or below the atmospheric pressure level in preparation for the next collection. Since the amount of collected gas is not known, exhaust gas recirculation may be terminated in a state where a considerable amount of exhaust gas remains in the collection container.
[0005]
Therefore, the present invention provides an exhaust treatment method for an internal combustion engine that enables appropriate control of various operations related to collection and discharge of exhaust gas according to the amount of exhaust gas held in a collection container. An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas collecting device for realizing the method.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
An exhaust treatment method according to the present invention is directed to an exhaust treatment method for an internal combustion engine that collects and holds exhaust gas from the exhaust passage in a collection container connected to the exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine. Estimating the trapping amount based on a physical quantity correlated with the trapping amount, and, based on the estimation result of the trapping amount, performing a collecting operation of the exhaust gas to the collecting container and from the collecting container. And a step of controlling at least one of the exhaust gas discharging operations described above.
[0007]
According to the exhaust treatment method of the present invention, since the amount of exhaust gas collected in the collection container is estimated, the operation of collecting and discharging the exhaust gas to the collection container is appropriately performed according to the estimation result. In this way, it is possible to prevent inconveniences such as excessively introducing exhaust gas into the collection container and undesired exhaust gas remaining due to insufficient discharge of exhaust gas from the collection container. In the present invention, the physical quantity correlated with the trapping amount may be any physical quantity that has a relationship that changes in correlation with a change in the amount of exhaust gas in the trapping vessel. The flow rate of the exhaust gas collected in the collection container or discharged from the collection container can be used as a physical quantity. In addition to these, the amount of intake air to the internal combustion engine, the opening of valve means operated to collect exhaust gas from the exhaust passage to the collection device, or to discharge exhaust gas from the collection device, Time, opening, duty ratio, and the like can be used as physical quantities.
[0008]
Further, in the present invention, the estimation of the trapping amount is not limited to the concept of calculating the actual trapping amount from the physical amount described above, as long as some estimation regarding the trapping amount is performed using the various physical amounts described above. Included in that range. Therefore, for example, in the case where it is determined whether the collected amount has reached the limit by using the physical amount such as pressure that can be converted to the collected amount as it is, a physical amount that is different from the collected amount is formally. Even if used, if the judgment on the trapping amount is substantially made, it must be understood that the trapping amount is estimated.
[0009]
In the exhaust treatment method of the present invention, it is determined whether or not the trapping amount has reached a predetermined limit amount based on the estimation result of the trapping amount, and when it is determined that the limit amount has been reached, A process for inhibiting collection of exhaust gas from an exhaust passage to the collection container may be executed (claim 2). By performing such a process, it is possible to prevent the exhaust gas from being excessively supplied to the collection container.
[0010]
In the exhaust gas treatment method of the present invention, when the cycle from the collection of the exhaust gas to the collection container to the exhaust is completed, or when the collection of the exhaust gas of the next cycle is started after being interrupted, The remaining state of the exhaust gas in the collection container is determined with reference to the estimation result of the cycle, so that when the remaining amount of the exhaust gas is large, the limit amount is larger than when the remaining amount is small, The limit amount may be changed based on the determination result of the remaining state (claim 3). By changing the limit amount in this way, the following operation and effect can be obtained.
[0011]
If the exhaust gas was not sufficiently discharged from the collection container in the previous cycle, the amount of exhaust gas that can be collected in the collection container in the next cycle depends on the remaining amount of the exhaust gas if the limit amount is constant. Receive less. In such a case, if the limit amount is temporarily set to a large value, it is possible to sufficiently secure the amount of exhaust gas to be collected and sufficiently exhibit the effect of suppressing the emission of harmful substances by collecting the exhaust gas. On the other hand, when the exhaust gas is exhausted to such an extent that it hardly remains in the collection container, the limit amount at the time of the next collection is set small. Therefore, the requirements regarding the strength and durability of the collection container are less strict than in the case where the limit amount is fixed to a large value in consideration of the residual exhaust gas. In other words, collection by the collection container is required during an exceptional period during which the catalyst in the exhaust passage cannot exhibit its original purification performance, and during the operation of the internal combustion engine, the period during which the exhaust gas can be exhausted from the collection container is limited. It is considered that the case where the exhaust gas can be sufficiently secured and the exhaust gas remains in a considerable amount in the collection container is an exceptional case such as a case where the internal combustion engine is stopped while the exhaust gas is being collected or discharged. Therefore, it is not necessary to design the collection container assuming that the limit amount is frequently set to a large value, and in an exceptional case, the collection container is designed to withstand a larger amount of collection than usual. Just design. For this reason, the strength and durability required of the collection container are also reduced accordingly, and the degree of freedom in designing the collection container is increased. The limit amount may be switched to two or more stages depending on the size of the remaining amount, or the limit amount may be continuously changed according to the remaining amount so that the limit amount increases as the remaining amount increases. May be changed. The concept of “when the remaining amount is small” includes the case where the remaining amount is substantially zero.
[0012]
In the exhaust treatment method of the present invention, a plurality of storage sections partitioned from each other are provided in the collection container, and at least one storage section of the plurality of storage sections is moved from the exhaust passage toward the collection container. By configuring as a selective storage unit that can switch the acceptability of the taken-in exhaust gas, the effective capacity of the collection container actually used for collecting the exhaust gas can be adjusted, and the collection amount can be adjusted. The effective capacity may be changed by switching control of the acceptance of the exhaust gas in the selective accommodating section based on the estimation result of (4).
[0013]
In this case, by changing the effective capacity of the collection container according to the estimation result of the collection amount, when the collection amount is large, the exhaust gas is guided to the selective storage unit to collect the collection amount of the collection container. The exhaust gas can be collected by appropriately using a plurality of storage portions as appropriate, such as increasing the number of traps and not using at least one selective storage portion for collecting the exhaust gas when the trapping amount is small. . Priorities may be set in advance in each of the storage units, and the lower priority order may be configured as the selective storage unit, and the exhaust gas may be sequentially guided from the storage unit with the higher priority order. The priority may be determined from various viewpoints. The term "separated from each other" means a state in which the housing portions are air-tightly separated so that the exhaust gas cannot freely flow unless an intentional connection operation such as opening a valve means is performed. I do.
[0014]
For example, the priority may be determined in association with the capacity of each storage unit, such as using the storage units in descending order of capacity to collect exhaust gas. The storage units may be provided separately in each unit of the vehicle. In this case, the priority order may be determined in association with the distance from the vehicle compartment to each of the accommodation units so that the accommodation unit farther from the vehicle compartment has a higher priority. In this case, when the exhaust gas leaks from the housing portion, there is an advantage that the possibility that the exhaust gas enters the passenger compartment can be reduced. Further, the priority may be determined in association with the distance from the exhaust passage to each of the storage units, so that the storage unit farther from the exhaust passage has a higher priority. In this case, since the exhaust gas is collected in preference to the storage part far from the exhaust passage, there is an advantage that the cooling effect of the exhaust gas held in the collection container can be enhanced.
[0015]
Furthermore, the priority of each accommodation unit may be determined in association with the collision safety of the vehicle. That is, the priority may be set so that the accommodation unit that is less likely to be damaged by a collision has a higher priority. With this configuration, there is an advantage that it is possible to reduce a possibility that the storage portion is damaged and the exhaust gas leaks out when the vehicle collides with the exhaust gas remaining in the collection container.
[0016]
In the specification of the present application, the term of the effective capacity is switched to a state in which the exhaust gas cannot be received with respect to the total capacity of the collection container given as a total value of the respective capacities of the plurality of storage units. It is used to indicate the total capacity of only the storage units that can actually be used for collecting exhaust gas, excluding the storage units that are present.
[0017]
In the exhaust gas treatment method of the present invention, when the cycle from the collection of the exhaust gas to the collection container to the exhaust is completed, or when the collection of the exhaust gas of the next cycle is started after being interrupted, The remaining state of the exhaust gas in the collection container is determined with reference to the estimation result of the cycle of the cycle, so that when the remaining amount of the exhaust gas is large, the effective capacity is larger than when the remaining amount is small. Switching of whether or not to accept the exhaust gas in the selective storage section may be controlled (claim 5).
[0018]
In this case, when the remaining amount of exhaust gas in the previous cycle is large, the effective capacity of the collection container increases, and a large amount of exhaust gas can be collected by the collection container. Therefore, even when the exhaust gas in the previous cycle remains, it is possible to ensure a sufficient amount of exhaust gas to be collected and sufficiently exhibit the effect of suppressing the emission of harmful substances by collecting the exhaust gas. Since the amount of exhaust gas collected is increased by increasing the effective capacity, there is also an advantage that an excessive increase in the internal pressure of the collection container can be prevented. The effective capacity may be switched to two or more stages depending on the size of the remaining amount of exhaust gas, or the effective capacity may be changed according to the remaining amount so that the effective capacity increases as the remaining amount increases. It may be changed continuously. The concept of “when the remaining amount is small” includes the case where the remaining amount is substantially zero.
[0019]
In the exhaust treatment method of the present invention, the switching control of the acceptability of the selective storage unit based on the estimation result of the trapping amount is performed so that the effective capacity increases in response to the increase in the trapping amount. (Claim 6). In this case, as the trapping amount increases, the reception of the exhaust gas in the selective accommodating section is permitted, and it becomes possible to cope with the trapping of a larger amount of exhaust gas.
[0020]
A first exhaust gas collecting apparatus of the present invention is connected to an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine, and is capable of holding an exhaust gas collected from the exhaust passage. The above-mentioned problem is solved by providing a collection amount estimating means for estimating the collection amount based on a physical quantity correlated with the collection amount (claim 7).
[0021]
According to this exhaust gas trapping device, the amount of exhaust gas trapped in the trapping container can be estimated, so that the operation of collecting and discharging the exhaust gas into the trapping container is appropriately performed according to the estimation result. , It is possible to realize the exhaust treatment method of the present invention.
[0022]
The first exhaust gas collecting apparatus of the present invention performs the operation of collecting the exhaust gas into the collecting container and the operation of discharging the exhaust gas from the collecting container based on the estimation result by the collected amount estimating means. Among them, a collection management means for controlling at least one of the operations may be provided (claim 8). According to this exhaust gas collection device, the exhaust gas treatment method of the present invention can be realized.
[0023]
Furthermore, the first exhaust gas collecting apparatus of the present invention can include the following aspects in order to realize the above-described preferred aspects of the exhaust gas processing method of the present invention.
[0024]
The collection management unit determines whether the collection amount has reached a predetermined limit amount based on the estimation result by the collection amount estimation unit, and determines that the collection amount has reached the limit amount. A process for inhibiting collection of exhaust gas from an exhaust passage to the collection container may be executed.
[0025]
The apparatus may further include estimation result holding means for holding the estimation result of the collection amount estimating means even after the cycle from the collection of the exhaust gas to the collection container to the discharge thereof is completed or interrupted. In that case, the collection management means refers to the estimation result of the previous cycle held by the estimation result holding means at the start of the collection of the exhaust gas in the collection vessel, and The remaining state of the exhaust gas is determined, and the limit amount is changed based on the determination result of the remaining state so that when the remaining amount of the exhaust gas is large, the limit amount is larger than when the remaining amount is small. (Claim 10).
[0026]
In the first exhaust gas collection device of the present invention, the collection container is provided with a plurality of storage sections that are separated from each other, and at least one of the plurality of storage sections is configured such that the storage section is configured to capture the air from the exhaust passage. The effective capacity of the collection container actually used for collecting the exhaust gas can be adjusted by being configured as a selective storage unit that can switch whether to accept the exhaust gas taken in toward the collection container. The collection management unit may change the effective capacity by switching between accepting and not accepting the exhaust gas in the selective storage unit based on the estimation result by the collection amount estimation unit. (Claim 11).
[0027]
In the first exhaust gas collecting apparatus of the present invention, the estimation result of the collection amount estimating means is retained even after the cycle from the collection of the exhaust gas to the collection container to the discharge thereof is completed or interrupted. The collection management means refers to the estimation result of the previous cycle held by the estimation result holding means at the start of the collection of the exhaust gas in the collection container. Determining the remaining state of the exhaust gas in the collection container, so that when the remaining amount of the exhaust gas is large, the effective capacity is larger than when the remaining amount is small, Switching of acceptability may be controlled (claim 12).
[0028]
The collection management unit controls switching of the acceptance of the selective storage unit based on the estimation result of the collection amount estimation unit such that the effective capacity increases in response to the increase in the collection amount. (Claim 13).
[0029]
A second exhaust gas collection device of the present invention includes a collection container connected to an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine and capable of holding exhaust gas collected from the exhaust passage, and the collection container is separated from each other. A plurality of accommodating portions are provided, and at least one of the plurality of accommodating portions is a selective accommodating portion capable of switching whether to accept exhaust gas taken in from the exhaust passage toward the collection container. With the configuration, the above-described problem is solved (claim 14).
[0030]
According to this exhaust gas collecting device, the effective capacity of the collecting container that can be actually used for collecting the exhaust gas can be increased or decreased by switching whether or not to accept the exhaust gas in the selective storage section. Therefore, in the above-described exhaust treatment method of the present invention, when the effective capacity of the collection container is changed in accordance with the estimation result of the collection amount, it can be suitably used as an apparatus for realizing this.
[0031]
In the second exhaust gas collecting apparatus of the present invention, the order of collecting the exhaust gas for each of the plurality of storage units may be controlled in accordance with a predetermined priority order by switching the acceptability of the selective storage unit. Good (claim 17). As described above, the priority order can be determined from various viewpoints such as the capacity of each storage unit, the distance from the vehicle compartment to each storage unit, the distance from the exhaust passage to each storage unit, the collision safety of the vehicle, and the like. it can.
[0032]
In the second exhaust gas trapping device of the present invention, a trapping quantity estimating means for estimating the trapping quantity based on a physical quantity correlated with a trapping quantity of exhaust gas in the trapping vessel; By selectively controlling whether or not to accept the exhaust gas in the selective storage unit based on the estimation result by the estimation unit, the collection order of the exhaust gas in each of the plurality of storage units is controlled according to a predetermined priority. (Claim 18). In this case, by switching the order in which the exhaust gas is collected in each storage unit according to the estimation result of the amount of collected exhaust gas, one embodiment of the exhaust treatment method of the present invention can be realized.
