本発明はリニアモータの制御装置に関し、詳しくは、電力変換器により駆動されてリニアモータの可動部としてのピストン等を往復運動させることにより気体を圧縮するコンプレッサ(いわゆるリニアコンプレッサ)用のリニアモータにおいて、特に、ピストンやリニアモータ自体の破損を防止するようにした制御装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
図10は、電力変換器により駆動される従来のリニアコンプレッサの駆動システムを示しており、この従来技術では、電力変換器として単相インバータを用い、リニアモータとして単相ボイスコイルモータを用いている。なお、この種のリニアコンプレッサは、冷蔵庫等の冷却装置において、膨張した冷媒ガスをシリンダ内のピストンの往復運動により圧縮する場合に使用されている。

直流電源1に接続された単相インバータ2により、所望の周波数及び振幅の単相交流電圧をリニアモータ4A,4Bに供給する。各モータ4A,4Bにそれぞれ連結されたピストン5A,5Bは、単相インバータ2が出力する周波数に応じて図の左右方向に往復運動を行い、シリンダ6内の気体を圧縮する。

このようなリニアコンプレッサ3では、気体の圧縮時と膨張時とでピストン5A,5Bに対する平均圧力が異なると、ピストン5A,5Bの中心位置が変動することになる。その結果、最悪の場合にはピストン5A,5B同士が衝突してリニアモータ4A,4Bを破損するおそれがある。

ここで、図11は単相インバータ2の制御ブロック図を示している。インバータ2の出力周波数指令を積分器11により積分して位相各指令θ*を求め、正弦波テーブル12を参照することにより、所望の周波数の正弦波信号を得る。この正弦波信号と電圧指令(振幅指令)とを乗算器13により乗算し、その結果に係数器14,15にて係数を乗じて出力電圧指令を得る。係数器14から出力された出力電圧指令は加算器25を介して比較器17に入力されると共に、係数器15から出力された出力電圧指令は比較器18にそのまま入力される。

比較器17,18では、上記各出力電圧指令と、キャリア発生器16から出力される三角波とがそれぞれ比較され、PWMパルスが生成される。このPWMパルスは、分配器19を経てデッドタイム生成手段20により上下アームの短絡を防止するためのデッドタイムが付加された後、ゲートドライバ21に入力される。ゲートドライバ21では、PWMパルスに基づいて単相インバータ2のスイッチング素子Q1〜Q4に対するゲート信号を生成し、これらのゲート信号によってスイッチング素子Q1〜Q4をオン、オフすることにより、所望の振幅及び周波数を有する交流電圧を出力してリニアモータ4A,4Bに供給する。

この従来技術において、ピストン位置の制御は、次のように行っている。
すなわち、前記位置センサ7により検出した位置情報を直流分検出手段42に入力してピストンの中心位置を検出する。また、ピストンの平均位置指令と、直流分検出手段42により検出したピストンの中心位置との偏差を加算器23により求める。そして、この偏差を位置調節器(比例調節器や比例積分調節器等)24に入力してその出力である直流バイアスをオフセット電圧として一方の比較器17側の出力電圧指令に重畳することで、ピストン5A,5Bの中心位置の変動を防止している。
ここで、ピストンの中心位置とは、図10に示すピストンの駆動方向の変位xの中心位置をいう。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
図10に示した従来技術では、位置センサ7をシリンダ6内に配置しなければならない。しかしながら、シリンダ6の内部は圧力が高いため、位置センサ7の信号線を引き出すことは構造上、困難であると共に、コストが上昇する原因ともなる。更に、位置センサ7自身も耐高圧性能が必要であるため、この点でもコストを上昇させる要因となっていた。
更に、特許文献2のように位置センサをシリンダに内蔵しないタイプの従来技術においても、位置センサの取付構造が複雑であり、また、位置センサ自体のコストの問題は解消されていない。

そこで本発明は、位置センサを用いることなくピストン等の可動部同士の衝突を回避してリニアモータの破損を防止するようにしたリニアモータの制御装置を提供しようとするものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図に沿って本発明の実施形態を説明する。
まず、図1は本発明の第1実施形態が適用されるリニアコンプレッサ3’の駆動システムであり、図10と同一の構成要素には同一の参照符号を付してある。図から明らかなように、このリニアコンプレッサ3’では、ピストンの位置を検出するための位置センサがシリンダ6内から除去されている。

図2は、本実施形態における単相インバータ2の制御ブロック図である。この図においても、図11と同一の構成要素には同一の参照符号を付してあり、以下では図11と異なる部分を中心として構成及び動作を説明する。

ここで、図3は、単相インバータ2の出力電圧を変化させたときのピストン(例えば5A)の中心位置の測定結果を示している。この図3によれば、単相インバータ2の出力電圧がV1から増加するに伴ってピストン5Aの中心位置がずれていくことがわかる。従って、ピストン5Aの中心位置を一定とするには、図3に波線のハッチングで示す変位部分を打ち消すように出力電圧を調整すればよく、具体的には、図4に示すごとく、出力電圧の大きさ(振幅)がV1より大きい領域では出力電圧が増加するにつれてオフセット電圧を増加させればよい。

図6の制御ブロック図では、図5に示す電流検出手段7により検出した正弦波状のモータ電流を電流大きさ変換手段27に入力してその大きさを求め、図7の特性をテーブルとして内蔵したオフセット指令発生器26によりモータ電流の大きさに応じたオフセット電圧指令を求めて加算器25に入力する。

以下では、図2、図6と異なる部分を中心として第3実施形態の構成及び動作を説明する。

一般にリニアモータでは、駆動周波数が一定の場合、モータの損失を無視すればモータの推力はモータの有効電力に比例し、前述したようにモータの推力とピストンの変位もほぼ比例関係にある。
そこで、この実施形態では、図8に示すようにモータ電流と単相インバータ2の出力電圧指令とを乗算器28により乗算して皮相電力を求め、この皮相電力を有効電力抽出手段29に入力して有効電力の大きさを抽出する。抽出した有効電力の大きさに基づきオフセット指令発生器26がオフセット電圧指令を決定し、これを加算器25に入力して出力電圧指令に加算することにより、ピストン位置を中心位置に制御するようにした。なお、図9は有効電力の大きさとオフセット電圧指令との概略的な関係を示すものであり、この特性はオフセット指令発生器26にテーブルとして内蔵されている。

この実施形態においても、位置センサによるピストンの位置情報を用いずにピストンの中心位置の変動を防止し、ピストン5A,5B同士の衝突によるリニアモータ4A,4Bの破損を回避することができる。
なお、負荷力率がほぼ一定であれば、有効電力の代わりに皮相電力をそのまま用いることができ、これによって有効電力抽出手段29を省略することが可能である。また、電力の演算に当たっては、単相インバータ2の出力電圧指令ではなく出力電圧検出値を用いても良い。

【発明の効果】
以上のように本発明によれば、電力変換器の出力電圧指令に対し、電圧、電流または電力に基づいて生成したオフセット電圧指令を重畳することにより、従来のように可動部の位置センサを用いなくても可動部の位置を適切に制御して、可動部やリニアモータ自体の破損を回避しつつ運転することができる。
このため、設置環境に制約があってコスト上昇の一因ともなる位置センサを不要とし、リニアモータの制御装置を安価に提供することができる。
