Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a drawing method and a drawing apparatus, in which a functional liquid is discharged in a dot shape by a droplet discharge head typified by an inkjet head on a work such as a glass substrate, a metal wiring forming method and a metal wiring forming apparatus, The present invention relates to an apparatus, a method for manufacturing the same, and electronic equipment.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, it has been attempted to form a fine metal wiring in a liquid crystal display device or the like by applying an ink jet head (droplet discharge head) having a nozzle row. In the formation of metal wiring by the inkjet method, a droplet discharge head having a nozzle row is relatively moved in a main scanning direction with respect to a substrate (work), and a functional liquid (liquid metal material) is selectively supplied from a plurality of nozzles. By discharging in the form of dots and connecting these dots, a line segment as a wiring is configured.
For example, the wiring of the “Z” image as shown in FIG. 8A is composed of two horizontal lines parallel to the main scanning direction of the
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, if an attempt is made to form the intersection line segment with the same dot diameter as the horizontal line segment, the distance between the dot centers becomes √2 times as large as the horizontal line segment, so that the dots are intermittent and the connectivity cannot be maintained. For this reason, when forming the intersection line segment, the dot diameter is increased by increasing the ejection amount as compared with the horizontal line segment, or by ejecting the functional droplets to one pixel in an overlapping manner, but the line width is increased. Therefore, the fine wiring could not be formed properly.
In addition, since the horizontal line segment can be formed by connecting dots from one
[0004]
The present invention provides a drawing method that can appropriately draw continuous line segments regardless of structural variations of a plurality of nozzles, and can be suitably applied to formation of fine wiring in surface mounting technology. It is an object of the present invention to provide a drawing apparatus, a metal wiring forming method and a metal wiring forming apparatus, an electro-optical device and a method for manufacturing the same, and an electronic apparatus.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The drawing method of the present invention is to selectively discharge a functional liquid in a dot form from the droplet discharge head while relatively moving a droplet discharge head having a nozzle row with respect to a work in a main scanning direction. In a drawing method for performing drawing, a droplet discharge head is arranged such that an extending direction of a drawing region and a main scanning direction are parallel to a drawing region on a workpiece formed of intersecting line segments intersecting with the main scanning direction. On the other hand, the method includes a work rotation step of relatively rotating the work by an angle, and a drawing step of drawing in a drawing area after the work rotation step.
[0006]
The drawing apparatus of the present invention selectively discharges the functional liquid from the droplet discharge head in the form of dots while relatively moving the droplet discharge head having a nozzle row with respect to the work in the main scanning direction. A drawing apparatus that performs drawing, a work moving mechanism that relatively moves the work with respect to the droplet discharge head, a work rotation mechanism that relatively rotates the work with respect to the droplet discharge head, a work moving mechanism, Control means for controlling the discharge drive of the work rotation mechanism and the droplet discharge head, the control means controls the work rotation mechanism for a drawing area on the work composed of intersecting line segments intersecting in the main scanning direction, After the work is relatively rotated by an angle so that the extending direction of the drawing area and the main scanning direction are parallel to each other, the discharge movement of the work moving mechanism and the droplet discharge head is controlled to perform drawing in the drawing area. The features.
[0007]
According to this configuration, when drawing an intersecting line segment intersecting with the main scanning direction on the work, the work is rotated at an angle in a horizontal plane relative to the droplet discharge head, and the direction of the intersecting line (extending of the drawing area). The main scanning direction and the main scanning direction are made to be the same direction, and then the droplet discharge head is relatively moved in the main scanning direction to discharge the functional liquid in the form of dots. That is, the drawing area on the work composed of the intersecting lines is drawn substantially as a horizontal line parallel to the main scanning direction.
As a result, the connection between the dots is ensured, so that it is possible to appropriately draw a continuous line segment having continuity. In addition, since the drawing of the intersection line can be performed under the same conditions (the droplet discharge amount, the number of droplet discharges, and the like) as the drawing of the horizontal line segment that does not need to be rotated, the connectivity between the dots is minimized by using the smallest possible dots. As a result, the intersection can be drawn with a line width as small as possible.
[0008]
In these cases, it is preferable that the drawing process is performed using one predetermined nozzle of the droplet discharge head.
[0009]
Similarly, it is preferable that the control unit controls the ejection drive of the droplet ejection head, and performs drawing in the drawing area using the predetermined one nozzle.
[0010]
According to these configurations, since the intersection line segment can be drawn by ejection by one nozzle, the intersection line segment having the minimum line width can be formed on the work. For this reason, the applicability to a metal wiring or a non-contact type IC card for which a fine line is desired can be enhanced.
[0011]
In these cases, it is preferable that the nozzle row of the droplet discharge head is inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to the main scanning direction.
[0012]
Similarly, the work moving mechanism includes a carriage on which the droplet discharge head is mounted, and the carriage mounts the droplet discharge head in a state where the nozzle row is inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to the main scanning direction. preferable.
[0013]
According to these configurations, fine adjustment of the line width of the intersection line segment can be appropriately performed.
[0014]
In these cases, it is preferable that the work rotation step is performed based on angle data generated from image data representing a drawing area and relating to an angle between the intersection line and the main scanning direction.
[0015]
Similarly, it is preferable that the control means controls the work rotating mechanism based on angle data on an angle formed by the intersection line with the main scanning direction, generated from image data representing the drawing area.
[0016]
According to these configurations, since the droplet discharge head is relatively rotated based on the angle data generated from the image data, the extending direction of the drawing area and the main scanning direction are surely made parallel. be able to. In addition, the image data is generally data of a diagram indicating a start point and an end point of an intersection line, but may be dot data.
[0017]
In these cases, the X-axis direction in the XY two-dimensional orthogonal coordinates is the main scanning direction, and the drawing process includes drawing data including drawing start coordinates of intersection lines generated from image data representing a drawing region. It is preferable that the adjustment is performed based on the position data and the ejection data of the droplet ejection head.
[0018]
Similarly, the X-axis direction in the XY two-dimensional orthogonal coordinates is the main scanning direction, and the control unit generates a drawing position including data on a drawing start coordinate of an intersecting line generated from image data representing a drawing area. It is preferable to control the ejection drive of the work moving mechanism and the droplet discharge head based on the data and the discharge data of the droplet discharge head.
[0019]
According to these configurations, since the relative movement and the ejection drive of the droplet ejection head are performed based on the drawing position data and the ejection data generated from the image data, the droplet ejection head is suitable for the position after the rotation of the droplet ejection head. Dot-shaped ejection can be performed. The drawing position data is generally data on drawing start coordinates and drawing end coordinates, but may be data on drawing start coordinates and length from the drawing start coordinates.
[0020]
In these cases, in the drawing area, there are a plurality of crossing line segments having different angles with respect to the main scanning direction. It is preferable to be performed in order.
[0021]
Similarly, in the drawing area, there are a plurality of drawing areas having different angles formed by the intersecting line segments with the main scanning direction, and the control means includes a work rotating step by a work rotating mechanism, a work moving mechanism and a droplet discharge head. It is preferable to perform the drawing process by the ejection driving in the order of smaller or larger intersection angles with respect to the main scanning direction.
[0022]
According to these configurations, the drawing of a plurality of intersecting lines having different intersection angles is performed by sequentially rotating the work relative to the droplet discharge head in a predetermined direction, so that the drawing can be efficiently performed by the simple control. It can be carried out.
[0023]
In this case, in the drawing area, there are a plurality of drawing areas having the same angle between the intersection line segment and the main scanning direction, and in the drawing step, it is preferable to draw a plurality of drawing areas having the same intersection angle collectively. .
[0024]
Similarly, there are a plurality of drawing areas in which the intersection line segment forms an angle equal to the main scanning direction, and the control means controls the work moving mechanism and the ejection drive of the droplet ejection head to determine the intersection angle. It is preferable to draw a plurality of equal drawing areas collectively.
[0025]
According to these configurations, a plurality of intersecting line segments are collectively drawn in a state where the result of one work rotation process or the work rotation by the work rotation mechanism is maintained, so that efficient drawing can be performed. .
[0026]
The metal wiring forming method of the present invention is characterized in that a liquid metal material is introduced into a droplet discharge head and metal wiring is drawn on a substrate serving as a work, using the drawing method and apparatus of the present invention described above. .
[0027]
Similarly, a metal wiring forming apparatus of the present invention is a metal wiring forming apparatus for forming a metal wiring on a substrate to be a work, and the drawing apparatus of the present invention described above, and a liquid metal material as the functional liquid. And a functional liquid supply mechanism for supplying to the droplet discharge head.
[0028]
According to this configuration, the metal wiring is formed directly on the work by the ink jet method, so that the manufacturing process can be simplified and a fine wiring pattern can be realized. In addition, the inkjet method may be any of a type using an electrothermal converter as an energy generating element and a type using a piezoelectric element (piezo element).
[0029]
An electro-optical device according to the present invention includes a metal wiring formed using the above-described method and apparatus for forming a metal wiring according to the present invention.
[0030]
Similarly, a method of manufacturing an electro-optical device according to the present invention is characterized in that a metal wiring is formed using the above-described method and apparatus for forming a metal wiring of the present invention.
[0031]
According to this configuration, since the metal wiring can be finely formed, the electro-optical device itself can be manufactured in a small size. In addition, as the electro-optical device (device), a liquid crystal display device, an organic EL (Electro-Luminescence) device, an electron-emitting device, a PDP (Plasma Display Panel) device, an electrophoretic display device, and the like can be considered. The electron emission device is a concept including a so-called FED (Field Emission Display) device.
[0032]
An electronic apparatus according to the present invention includes the above-described electro-optical device according to the present invention.
[0033]
According to this configuration, an electronic device such as a mobile phone equipped with a so-called flat panel display can be downsized.
[0034]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

The inkjet head (droplet ejection head) of an inkjet printer is capable of ejecting minute ink droplets (droplets) with high precision in a dot shape, and is applied to circuit formation in surface mounting technology. An attempt has been made to form a metal wiring having electrical conductivity by using a liquid metal material for the liquid.
