Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a manual wheelchair in which an operator manually drives left and right wheels to move forward and backward and turn. In particular, the present invention relates to a manual wheelchair that has been improved so as to prevent an unintended turning force from being applied in a rocking environment such as on a ship or when traveling on a road surface inclined left and right.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In a general manual wheelchair, the left and right rear wheels rotate independently of each other. The operator applies driving torque to each wheel with the left and right hands to make the wheelchair go straight or turn. When equal torque is applied to both wheels, the wheelchair goes straight, and when superior torque is applied to the rear wheel on the side opposite to the direction in which it is desired to turn, the wheelchair turns in a desired direction. The straight running of the wheelchair repeats a state in which drive torque is applied to both rear wheels (drive running) and a state in which the vehicle is running with inertial force due to the drive torque (inertial running). During driving, the operator can arbitrarily change the driving torque and the rotation angle for the left and right rear wheels, so that it is easy to travel straight or change course.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In such a manual wheelchair, the front wheels use casters that can rotate in all directions. When the manual wheelchair is placed on a surface that is inclined left and right with respect to the traveling direction, the wheelchair tilts toward the valley due to the influence of gravity, and the casters move toward the valley. At the same time, the rotation angle of the mountain-side rear wheel exceeds the rotation angle of the valley-side rear wheel, and the entire wheelchair turns to the valley side, contrary to the intention of the operator. Since the vehicle is particularly susceptible to gravity during inertial traveling, it is necessary to correct the course by an appropriate operation during driving traveling in order to travel straight without turning on such a road surface. For this reason, the operator must always perform complicated operations, and the burden increases. Such a problem can be solved by a structure in which the left and right rear wheels are rotated synchronously, but in that case, the operator cannot intentionally turn.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and has as its object to provide a manual wheelchair that can stably travel straight ahead even when traveling on a road surface inclined left and right.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, a manual wheelchair of the present invention is a manual wheelchair having left and right wheels that are manually driven by an operator, wherein the axles of the left and right wheels are connected so as to rotate synchronously (on). And a clutch that can be switched between an independently rotating position (disengaged) and a clutch that is switched on when the torque transmitted between the axles of the left and right wheels is equal to or less than a predetermined value. Is set to "OFF" when the value exceeds the predetermined value.
[0006]
The case where the torque transmitted between the left and right axles is equal to or less than a predetermined value means that the wheelchair naturally tends to turn in one of the left and right directions due to gravity, such as when traveling on a road surface inclined left and right. Such is the case. At this time, the clutch is turned on, and the axles of the left and right wheels rotate synchronously. For this reason, the wheelchair is prevented from inadvertently turning downward and the vehicle can travel straight even on a road surface inclined left and right without performing complicated operations or applying force for correcting the course.
[0007]
The case where the torque exceeds the predetermined value is a case where the operator intentionally tries to turn. At this time, the clutch is “disengaged”, the axles of the left and right wheels can rotate independently, and the wheelchair can be turned.
[0008]
In the present invention, a differential gear mechanism that connects the left and right axles so as to be relatively rotatable when the clutch is “disengaged” and rotates integrally with the left and right axles when the clutch is “on”. Can be provided.
With such a differential gear mechanism, even when the left and right axles are rotating, the torque transmitted between the axles of the left and right wheels can be sensed, and the clutch is switched between "on" and "off". be able to.
[0009]
In the present invention, there is provided a casing in which the clutch is housed, the clutch including a clutch disk fixed to the casing, and a clutch plate facing the clutch disk, wherein the clutch plate is a The clutch plate can be separated from the clutch disk by a torque exceeding the predetermined value transmitted between the axles of the left and right wheels while being urged in the disk direction.
At this time, the axle has a cam pin, the clutch plate has a tapered cam surface, and the cam pin moves along the cam surface by a torque transmitted between the axles of the left and right wheels and exceeding the predetermined value. By sliding, the clutch plate can be separated from the clutch disk along the axle direction.
[0010]
With such a structure, when the torque transmitted between the axles of the left and right wheels does not exceed the predetermined value, the clutch is turned "on" and the axles of the left and right wheels can be rotated synchronously.

【The invention's effect】
As is apparent from the above description, according to the present invention, the front wheel turns in either the left or right direction due to gravity, and the left and right rear wheels inadvertently turn in the same direction, such as a road surface inclined left and right. Or when traveling straight ahead, the clutch is turned on, the axles of the left and right wheels rotate synchronously, and when the operator attempts to turn intentionally, the clutch is turned off. The axles of the wheels rotate independently and can turn. As described above, it is possible to provide a manual wheelchair that can stably travel straight even when traveling on a road surface inclined left and right.
