2. Description of the Related Art Oxygen is known to oxidize foods and pharmaceuticals and deteriorate due to its high reactivity. Many foods and pharmaceuticals prevent deterioration by allowing the oxygen absorber to coexist in the package that is packaged with an exterior material. An oxygen indicator is simultaneously placed inside the package for detection.

At present, several kinds of oxygen indicators having different combinations of redox dyes, reducing agents, binders and the like are on the market. Many oxygen indicators make use of the property that redox indicators show different color tones between the reduced and oxidized types.Methylene blue shows a reduced type, that is, colorless by the action of a reducing agent under anoxic conditions, and under aerobic conditions. Is oxidized by oxygen and exhibits a blue color.

Various forms of oxygen indicators have been developed. Widely used is a tablet type, which is formed into tablets with a diameter of 1 cm or less and individually packaged in a state in which micropores are opened in a packaging material such as polyethylene or polypropylene, together with the contents and oxygen absorber. It is enclosed in a package body that is packaged by an exterior body made of a barrier packaging material.

However, most of the commercially available tablet-type oxygen indicators are large in size, and it is necessary to put them in a bag separately from the oxygen scavenger.
There were problems such as increasing garbage and taking up space in the product. On the other hand, liquid type, ink type, sheet type, paper type type, etc. have been developed as oxygen indicators other than the above-mentioned tablets, and further, oxygen absorber integrated type and packaging material integrated type have been developed. However, in a form other than tablets, such as printing or coating, as an oxygen indicator, the oxygen detection layer is thin, and it is difficult to stably hold the drug on the substrate for a long time. Therefore, the life of the oxygen indicator is remarkably shorter than that of the tablet, the storage conditions are limited, and the level of actual use has not yet been reached.

Therefore, in Japanese Patent Application No. 2000-1387, an oxygen indicator ink that solves the above problems was developed. For example, it is possible to give an oxygen indicator function to a packaging bag by laminating a sealant material after printing with a design ink on a base film, for example. In this case, in order to increase the adhesive strength between the film and the sealant, if the amount of adhesive applied is increased, the response speed of the oxygen indicator may slow down, and it has been desired to develop an oxygen indicator that discolors more quickly.

From the above results, the oxygen detection speed was improved by not applying the adhesive to the entire oxygen indicator ink application part. In addition, the oxygen detection speed was improved by providing a part where the adhesive was not applied. When a transportation test of 1,000 km round trip was carried out, no peeling or the like was found in the oxygen indicator part. By using an oxygen indicator ink composed of a redox dye, a reducing agent, a binder resin, and a solvent, an oxygen indicator excellent in color development was obtained.
