【発明の詳細な説明】 【０００１】 【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、着座者の体型に応
じてシートクッションの幅を調整することができ快適な
座り心地を確保することができる車両用シートに関する
ものである。 【０００２】 【従来の技術】従来から、シートクッションおよびシー
トバックからなる自動車等の車両用シートにおいては、
前記シートクッションは１つの構成部品として一体的に
成形したものが普通に用いられている。また、最近では
着座者の臀部をしっかりと支えることにより安全性の向
上やフィット感の向上等を図ったものが実用化されてお
り、具体的にはシートクッションの左右サイド部を上方
に盛り上げた形状のシートクッションが一般に利用され
ている。この場合、前記シートクッションは一体的に成
形したものであり、左右サイド部も当然に一体成形され
て固定状態にあるため、前記左右サイド部は平均的な着
座者の臀部の寸法を基に設計されているのが普通であ
る。 【０００３】しかしながら、着座者の臀部の寸法は各人
の体型差によって種々異なるものであり、前記一定幅の
寸法で形成された左右サイド部は、大きな臀部の人にと
っては窮屈で違和感があり、一方、小さな臀部の人にと
ってはフィット感がなく不安定であるという問題点があ
った。また、サイド部が着座者の臀部をしっかりとサポ
ートしていないと安全性にも劣るという問題点があっ
た。 【０００４】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は上記のような
従来の問題点を解決して、着座者の体型に応じてシート
クッションの幅を簡単に調整することができて、どんな
体型の人にも確実にフィットし快適な座り心地を確保す
ることができるとともに、優れた安全性も保証すること
ができる車両用シートを提供することを目的として完成
されたものである。 【０００５】 【課題を解決するための手段】上記の課題を解決するた
めになされた本発明の車両用シートは、シートクッショ
ンを、着座者の臀部を受ける臀受け部と、該臀受け部を
円弧状受け面により下方から支持する左右一対のサイド
受け部からなるものとし、このサイド受け部をそれぞれ
横方向に移動可能としたことを特徴とするものである。 【０００６】 【発明の実施の形態】以下に、図面を参照しつつ本発明
の好ましい実施の形態を示す。図面は、本発明を自動車
のフロントシートに適用した場合を示すものであって、
図１において、１はシートクッション、２はシートバッ
クである。そして本発明では、前記シートクッション１
は従来のように一体的に成形したものでなく、着座者の
臀部を受ける臀受け部３と、該臀受け部３を円弧状受け
面４ａにより下方から支持する左右一対のサイド受け部
４、４からなるものとされており、しかも、このサイド
受け部４はそれぞれ横方向に移動できるように構成され
ている。 【０００７】更に具体的に説明すると、前記臀受け部３
は合成樹脂あるいは金属製のお椀型基板３ａと、該基板
３ａ上にセットした発泡ウレタン樹脂からなる臀受けク
ッション部材３ｂとからなるものである。一方、サイド
受け部４は上部側に前記お椀型基板３ａと同一の曲率を
有する円弧状受け面４ａが形成されており、また外側に
は発泡ウレタン樹脂からなるサイドクッション部材４ｂ
を有するものである。また、このサイド受け部４は、例
えばモータ等の電動により、あるいは手動によりそれぞ
れ横方向に移動できるように構成されている。そして、
前記のように臀受け部３のお椀型基板３ａと、サイド受
け部４の円弧状受け面４ａとを接合させることによっ
て、サイド受け部４を幅方向に拡げた場合にも何ら違和
感なく臀受け部３を確実に支持できるのである。 【０００８】なお、サイド受け部４、４にバネ等の弾発
装置からなる付勢手段により常に内側へ向かうように構
成しておくこともでき、この場合には着座者がいないと
きにサイド受け部４が常に最も幅の狭い基準状態にリセ
ットされることとなり、位置合わせがやりやすくなると
いう利点がある。また、前記臀受け部３の下端部はスプ
リング５により支持されており、着座者の荷重を緩衝し
つつソフトに受けるよう構成されている。このスプリン
グ５は、図３に示されるように、前後に複数個（図示の
ものでは３個）設けられており、十分な緩衝作用および
クッション性を確保している。 【０００９】このように構成したものは、シートクッシ
ョン１が従来のように一体的に成形されたものでなく、
着座者の臀部を受ける臀受け部３と、該臀受け部３を円
弧状受け面４ａにより下方から支持する左右一対のサイ
ド受け部４、４からなるものとされており、しかも、こ
のサイド受け部４はそれぞれ横方向に移動できるように
構成されているので、着座者の体型に合わせてサイド受
け部４の幅を調整することが可能である。つまり、小さ
な臀部の人の場合にはサイド受け部４の幅を狭い状態と
して使用し、大きな臀部の人の場合にはサイド受け部４
の幅を広げた状態で使用することで、各々の体型に最も
フィットした状態で着座することができることとなる。
しかも、臀受け部３のお椀型基板３ａと、サイド受け部
４の円弧状受け面４ａとを接合させた構造であるため、
サイド受け部４を幅方向に拡げた場合にも何ら違和感な
く臀受け部３を確実に支持できるものであり、またサイ
ド受け部４の幅方向への移動もきわめて滑らかに行うこ
とが可能である。 【００１０】 【発明の効果】以上の説明からも明らかなように、本発
明は着座者の体型に応じてシートクッションの幅を簡単
に調整することができて、どんな体型の人にも確実にフ
ィットし快適な座り心地を確保することができるととも
に、優れた安全性も保証することができるものである。
よって本発明は従来の問題点を一掃した車両用シートと
