Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly mount a protector directly on a conductive pin of a glass sealed terminal of a hermetic motor-driven compressor. SOLUTION: In this protector for the hermetic motor-driven compressor 1, a thermal respondent switch 2 is stored and fixed to a holder 3, and a connecting terminal 4 with a receptacle 4A is mounted. The protector 1 is fixed to the sealed terminal by directly connecting the receptacle 4A to a tab terminal conductively fixed to the conductive pin of the glass sealed terminal. The protector is provided with a drop preventing member, and a locking part 6A of the drop preventing member is abutted on the tab terminal or the conductive pin to increase the force needed in the dropping direction of the protector. As the mounting strength of the protector to the sealed terminal can be remarkably improved, and the sufficient mounting strength can be obtained even when the thermal respondent switch is enlarged to increase the current capacity, the drop of the protector can be prevented.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, various heat-actuated switches have been used to protect a hermetic electric compressor from overheating due to overload, but among them, the hermetic electric motor is used because of its good heat exchange relationship with the electric motor and refrigerant. Some use a thermally actuated switch that is mounted in a hermetically sealed housing of the compressor. The attachment of this heat-actuated switch is fixed to the coil of the electric motor by a binding string as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 55-87170 or the like as a conventional example, or in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 60-95.
As disclosed in "Overload protection device for hermetic compressor" in Japanese Patent No. 183, there is a device mounted inside a housing by an elastic body.

In the case where the heat-actuated switch is tied to the coil with a binding string or the like, there is a problem that the mounting work is not easy and takes a lot of time and effort. On the other hand, since the overload protection device of Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 60-95183 is mounted inside the sealed housing by an elastic body, the work of mounting the overload protection device is easy, but it is necessary to mount the overload protection device inside the housing. It is necessary to install parts such as an elastic body in advance, and it is necessary to consider the extra space in the hermetically sealed housing of the electric compressor because a sufficient insulation distance between the hermetically sealed housing and the motor winding is required. ,
The housing needs to be extra large.

However, in the case where the connection terminal fixed to the protector is directly attached to the glass sealed terminal of the hermetic housing as described above, the protector can be easily attached and the mounting position can be minimized. There is no need to consider the extra space in the sealed housing or to make the housing extra large, but vibration and other factors during operation of the electric compressor put a large burden on the fixed parts between the protector and the connection terminals due to twisting or bending. Therefore, there is a problem that sufficient strength cannot always be obtained by the conventional method.

Therefore, the applicant of the present invention discloses in JP-A-7-91375 that the protector body is integrated with a box-shaped holder made of an electric insulator, and the fixing portion between the protector body and the connection terminal is cured by a filler such as resin. , Proposed a protector that prevents external force from being applied. In addition, JP-A-7-24
No. 1061 discloses that the protector body is integrated with a box-shaped holder made of an electric insulator, and the connection terminal is insert-molded in advance so that the force received by the connection terminal at one end is not transmitted to the other end. I proposed a protector held and fixed by. According to these protectors, it is possible to eliminate the influence of external force on the fixed portion between the protector body and the connection terminal, which has been a problem with conventional protectors.

[Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 7-913
Although the protectors described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 75-75 and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-241061 can reinforce the connection terminals,
It does not increase the attachment strength or holding force of the connection terminal to the glass sealed terminal. Therefore, for example, when the protector body is increased in size to accommodate a large current capacity, the holding force by the connection terminal becomes insufficient, and there is a problem in that it easily falls off due to vibration during operation of the electric compressor. . It is possible to increase the tightening force of the connection terminal with respect to the mounting portion by narrowing the gap between the connection terminals or using a material or shape with high rigidity. In comparison, a considerably stronger force is required, and as a result, there is a problem that workability in assembly is deteriorated. Therefore, there has been a demand for a protector for a hermetic electric compressor that can obtain sufficient strength even if the protector body is increased in size without lowering workability.

Here, in the protector 1 of the present invention,
A fall prevention member 6 is provided for preventing the protector from coming off or being displaced after being attached to the tab terminal 18B. One end 6A of the drop-off prevention member 6 has the first connection terminal 4
Is bent so that it can be mounted between the holder 3 and the holder 3, and the other end of the part having a wide width is bent in a direction in which it comes into contact with the tab terminal when the protector is attached to the sealed terminal 18. A stop 6B is provided. The fall prevention member 6 is made of a metal plate having sufficient elasticity,
At the time of mounting the tab terminal, the locking portion 6B is temporarily opened to the outside by the tab terminal so as not to interfere with the mounting work. Further, in the embodiment, when the tab terminal 18B is mounted, the terminal accommodating portion 3 of the holder 3 is configured so that the vicinity of the locking portion 6B, which is the tip of the drop-out preventing member 6, can be sufficiently bent.
A recess 3D as shown in FIG. 5 is provided in a portion of the inner surface of B where the locking portion 6B is located. Once the tab terminal is attached to the normal position and disposed further than the tab terminal 18B, the extended locking portion 6B and the elastically deformed tip portion return to their original shapes, and the protector is in the falling direction. When a force is applied, the engaging end 6B2 of the locking portion comes into contact with the lower end surface of the tab terminal to prevent the tab terminal from falling off.

For example, in the case of the fall prevention member 6 of this embodiment, the insertion end 6B1 of the locking portion 6B has a small rising angle and the engaging end 6B2 has a large rising angle. Therefore, when the protector is mounted, it can be mounted with a relatively weak force, and a larger force is required to remove the protector after mounting, which makes it difficult to drop the protector. Further, in this example, the rising angle of the engagement end 6B2 of the locking portion is adjusted to such a degree that the protector can be removed while preventing the protector from falling off. For example, the rising angle is 90 degrees with respect to the insertion direction. It goes without saying that it is possible to make it almost impossible to remove it without using a special jig.

As described above, in the present invention, the attachment strength can be improved by adding a few parts to the conventional protector without changing the work procedure in the attachment, and the current capacity of the protector can be increased. Even if the heat-actuated switch becomes large and the weight increases, it is possible to prevent the heat-actuated switch from falling out in the closed housing.

The operation of the protector 51 having the fall prevention member 56 thus mounted on the glass sealed terminal of the hermetic electric compressor will be described below. Similar to the above-mentioned example, the tab terminal 18B is fixed to the conductive pin 18A of the sealed terminal by welding or the like.
The tab terminal 18B and the conductive pin 18A are inserted from the lower side of the terminal accommodating portion 53B in the figure so as to connect to the receptacle portion of the connection terminal 4 of the protector 51. Here, the tip of the second locking portion 56B provided on the insertion piece 56C of the fall prevention member 56 and cut and raised inward interferes with the conductive pin 18A, but the locking portion escapes from the terminal when the terminal is inserted. Since it is bent in the direction, the increase in insertion force is relatively small. Further, at this time, the force of the entire fall-out prevention member 56 is pushed out, but the first locking portion 56A cut and raised to the outside is received.
The tip end of the holder 53 contacts the step portion 53D of the groove 53C provided in the terminal housing portion 53B, and the fall prevention member 56 itself is held by the holder 53
Can be prevented from falling off. Further, after the protector is attached to the sealed terminal, when the protector receives a force in a direction to separate from the conductive pin due to its own weight or a force pulling the lead wire, the above-mentioned second contact with the surface of the conductive pin is caused.
Since the tip of the locking portion 56B further digs into the conductive pin due to friction, a large force is required to pull it out.
In this way, the protector can be prevented from falling off.

Still another embodiment is shown in FIG. In this figure, the protector 61 is shown only in the mounting portion, and in the terminal accommodating portion 63B of the holder 63, the receptacle portion 4A of the connecting terminal 4 is provided in the same manner as in the above-described respective embodiments.
Are stored and held. A locking member 66, which is a fall-off preventing portion made of an elastic metal plate or the like, is integrally fixed to the receptacle portion 4A at one end 66A by welding or the like. The other end of the locking member 66 forms a locking portion 66B that is bent so as to protrude toward the tab terminal mounting side through the slit of the receptacle, and after the tab terminal 18B is mounted, the tip of the locking portion 66B is located in the recess 18B1. It is supposed to do. A groove 63C is provided in a portion of the holder 63 through which the locking member 4 passes so that the locking member 66 can be sufficiently bent when the tab terminal 18B is inserted.

In this protector 61, similarly to the other embodiments, the tab terminal 18B fixed to the conductive pin 18 of the glass sealed terminal fixed to the housing of the hermetic electric compressor is attached to the receptacle 4A of the connection terminal 4 for connection. Fixed,
During this mounting, the locking portion 66B, which is one end of the locking member 66, contacts the tab terminal 18B. Here, the locking member 66 is configured such that the locking portion 66B is bent outward by the tab terminal 18B so that the frictional force does not hinder the mounting.
Further, when the tab terminal 18B is inserted to a predetermined mounting position, the locking portion 66B of the locking member fits into the recess 18B1 on the back side of the welding projection of the tab terminal 18B. In this way, once the tab terminal 18B is inserted to the predetermined mounting position, when a force is applied in the opposite direction, the locking portion 66B comes into contact with the end surface of the recess 18B1 of the tab terminal 18B. At this time, the locking member 66 is stretched as a whole, so that the locking force thereof is much larger than the friction at the time of insertion.
Therefore, even when using a heat-actuated switch that is larger than the conventional one, it is possible to obtain a protector that does not fall off.
