Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1)エンジンの排気口に接続した第一の末端(2)を有するパイプ(1)と、前 記パイプ内に直列で設け、空間で相互に分けた排気ガスの接触的浄化を目的 にした第一および第二のモノリスまたはモノリス群とからなる内燃機関の排 気ラインであって、さらに第一の排気ガス部分を前記モノリスまたはモノリ ス群(10)の少なくとも1つのみに恒久的に通し、第二の排気ガス部分を 全てのモノリス(5,10)に通すことによって前記モノリスが受ける温度 ピークを制限し、または設定した温度範囲内で前記モノリス作動させること を目的とした手段(110,11)からなり、第一のモノリス群(5)が直 列に配置され、モノリスを含まない空間で分けられたいくつかのモノリスか らなることを特徴とする排気ライン。 2)第一のガス部分が第一のモノリス群(5)を通らないで、第一のモノリス群 (5)を通った第二のガス部分と混合した後直接第二のモノリス(10)に 到達するようにしたパイプ(110)を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記 載の排気ライン。 3)第二のモノリス群(10)が直列に設けられ、モノリスを含まない空間で分 けられたいくつかのモノリスからなることを特徴とする請求項1または2に 記載の排気ライン。 4)第一(5)および第二(10)のモノリスが容器(4)内に設けられ、前記 バイプ(1)の第二末端(3)が前記容器(4)内に突出し、突出部分に開 口部(11)が設けられ、ガスの一部が第一のモノリス(5)に到達する前 にパイプから流出し、全てのガスを第二のモノリス(10)に導くように前 記容器(4)内に手段(6)が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に 記載の排気ライン。 5)第一のモノリス(5)がパイプ(1)の突出部の末端(3)に設けられてい ることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の排気ライン。 6)第二のモノリス(10)が、容器(4)を2つの空間(7,8)に分ける隔 壁(6)上に設けられ、排気ガスが第一の空間(7)から第二の空間(8) に流れるための唯一の通路であることを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載 の排気ライン。 7)接触的浄化を目的としたいくつかのモノリスまたはモノリス群を連続的に排 気ガスを通すことからなり、前記ガスの第一の部分を第一のモノリスまたは モノリス 群、ついでモノリスを含まない空間、第二のモノリスまたはモノリス群の順 で恒久的に通過させ、ガスの第二の部分が第一のモノリスまたはモノリス群 を通過しないことによって、前記モノリスが受ける温度ピークを制限し、か つ/または設定した温度範囲で作動させることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気 ガス処理方法。 8)第二のモノリスの下流に第三のモノリスまたはモノリス群を設け、第二のガ ス部分を第二のモノリスを通った第一のガス部分と混合させ、混合ガスを第 三のモノリスまたはモノリス群の入口に送ることを特徴とする請求項7に記 載の処理方法。
