Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.超硬合金ボディの端面に少なくとも1個の焼結接合埋込物を有する超硬合 金ボディを含み、前記埋込物は40重量%以上の多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素を含み、 少なくとも1個の切れ刃を形成している多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素(PcBN)工具にお いて、Mを周期律表のIVaからVIa族の金属として、M(N,C,O)及びAl2O3の任意の数 の層の組み合わせからなる多層被覆をその全厚みが5〜14μmの範囲で有すること を特徴とする多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素(PcBN)工具。 2.前記多層被覆が少なくとも第一、第二、及び第三の層、すなわち Ti CxNyOzの前記第一の層であって、x+y+z=1、y>X及びz<0.2、好ましくはy>0. 8及びz=0であり、サイズが0.5μm未満の等軸結晶粒で全厚みが1.5μm未満、好ま しくは0.5μm未満の層、 Ti CxNyOzの前記第二の層であって、x+y+z=1、好ましくはz=0、及びX>0.3、よ り好ましくはx>0.5であり、1〜8μm、好ましくは3〜7μmの厚みを有し、平均直 径5μm未満、好ましくは0.1〜2μmの柱状結晶粒を有する層、 α-若しくはκ-Al2O3、若しくはそれらの混合物の円滑で微細な結晶粒(約1μ mの結晶粒)の前記第三の層であって、2〜10μm、好ましくは3〜6μmの厚みを 有する層 を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。 3.多層被覆が更に1.0μm未満、好ましくは0.1〜0.5μmの厚みの少なくとも 1層の中間Ti CxNyOz層を含み、ここでx+y+z=1、y<0.1、0.1<z<0.5で、サイズが 0.5μm未満の等軸若しくは好ましくは針状結晶粒で、前記中間層は以下の場所、 前記超硬合金若しくは多結晶立方晶窒化ホウ素と前記第一の層の間、 前記第一の層と前記第二の層の間、若しくは 前記第二の層と前記第三の層の間 の少なくとも1カ所に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の工 具。 4.前記中間層が前記第二の層と前記第三の層の間にあることを特徴とする請 求項3記載の工具。 5.前記中間層が前記第一の層と前記第二の層の間、及び前記第二の層と前記 第三の層の間にあることを特徴とする請求項3記載の工具。 6.前記超硬合金ボディが10〜20重量%Co、好ましくは15〜17重量%Coを有す るWC-Coからなることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の工具。 7.前記多層被覆が前記切れ刃に沿った領域から部分的に取り除かれているこ とを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の工具。 8. 850℃を超える温度において本質的に公知のCVD法を使用して、前記工具 は以下の層、 0.1〜2μmの厚みを有し、サイズが0.5μm未満の等軸結晶粒を有するTi CxNyOz の第一の層、 2〜15μmの厚みを有し、直径5μm未満の柱状結晶粒を有するTi CxNyOzの第二 の層であって、好ましくは850〜900℃の温度範囲で、前記層を形成するための炭 素及び窒素源としてアセトニトリルを用いるMTCVD技術を使用した層、 2〜10μmの厚みを有する円滑なα-若しくはκ-Al2O3の第三の層、 2μm未満、好ましくは0.01〜0.5μmの厚みの、例えばTiNの透明でなく、黒色 でない任意選択の外側層 で被覆されることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれかに記載の前記PcBN工具 の製造方法。 9.少なくとも1層のTi CxNyOzの中間層は0.1〜2μmの厚みを有し、サイズが 0.5μm未満の等軸若しくは針状結晶粒を有して堆積し、公知のCVD法を使用して 成長させ、z>0の場合においてはプロセスガスにCO2若しくはCOを添加することで 酸素を導入することを特徴とする請求項8記載の方法。 10.前記外側層及び前記第三の層を、機械的ブラッシ仕上げ若しくはグリッ トブラスティングにより前記切れ刃に沿った領域から部分的に若しくは完全に取 り除くことを特徴とする請求項8又は9記載の方法。
