【請求項1】 絶縁性膜で表面が被覆されたチタンブラックTiNxOy(ただし、0≦x<1.5、0.1<y<2.0)粒子と樹脂とを含む遮光性薄膜において、該遮光性薄膜の光学濃度(OD値)が2.5以上で、電気抵抗が1011Ω・cm以上である遮光性薄膜。
【請求項2】 CuKα線をX線源としたチタンブラックの回折角2θが25°〜26°での最大回折線強度をI1、27°〜28°での最大回折線強度をI2、37°の付近での最大回折線強度をI3とした場合に強度比R〔ここで、R=I3/{ I3 +1.8×(I1+1.8×I2)}〕が0.28以上である請求項1に記載の遮光性薄膜。
【請求項3】 絶縁性膜がシリコン酸化物である請求項1または2の遮光性薄膜。
【請求項4】 請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の遮光性薄膜からなる樹脂ブラックマトリックス。
【請求項5】 CuKα線をX線源としたチタンブラックの回折角2θが25°〜26°での最大回折線強度をI 1 、27°〜28°での最大回折線強度をI 2 、37°の付近での最大回折線強度をI 3 とした場合に強度比R〔ここで、R=I 3 /{ I 3 +1.8×(I 1 +1.8×I 2 )}〕が0.28以上であって絶縁被膜を有するチタンブラックと樹脂を用いることを特徴とする樹脂ブラックマトリックスの製造方法。
【請求項6】 請求項4に記載の樹脂ブラックマトリックスまたは請求項5に記載の樹脂ブラックマトリックスの製造方法によって得られた樹脂ブラックマトリックスを使用してなる液晶表示用カラーフィルター。
【請求項7】 請求項6に記載の液晶表示用カラーフィルターを用いた液晶表示装置。
【請求項8】 請求項7に記載のカラーフィルターを用いた液晶表示装置において、インプレーンスイッチング方式による駆動される液晶表示装置。
