Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.第1及び第2コネクタ(120,20)を嵌合軸に沿って互いにラッチする ためのシステムであって、前記第1及び第2コネクタは各ハウジング(122 ,22)を含み、該第1ハウジング(122)の共通側(124)に沿って選 定距離離れた、自由端(127)に至るまで延びる1対のラッチアーム(12 6)を有し、該ラッチアーム(126)は、前記第2ハウジング(22)の対 応する共通側面(24)に沿って位置した相補的なラッチ面(54)と協議す るようになっているラッチシステムにおいて、 前記ラッチアーム(126)の各自由端(127)は、ラッチ突起を含み、 前記第2ハウジング(22)の前記共通側面(24)は、該共通側面(24 )から外側に延びる1対のエンボス(50)を含み、該エンボス(50)は、 前記ラッチアーム(126)の前記自由端(127)と整合して配置されてラ ッチの当初段階の際に前記自由端(127)のカム面と最初に当接し、 前記ラッチアーム(126)は、前記カム面が前記エンボス(50)を圧迫 する際に、前記第1ハウジング(122)の端部(130)に向かって撓むよ うになっており、前記ラッチ突起は前記エンボス(50)を通過した後に前記 エンボス(50)の背後にラッチし、 前記ラッチアーム(126)は、前記第1ハウジング(122)の前記共通 側(124)に対して平行な方向に撓み、前記ラッチアームの撓みのために必 要とされる前記ハウジングに近接した隙間領域を最小化したことを特徴とする ラッチシステム。 2.前記ラッチ突起は互いに向かって向き合い、前記ラッチアーム(126)は 互いに離れる方向に撓むことを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項記載のラッチシス テム。 3.前記ラッチアーム(126)は、前記共通側面(124)に形成された凹部 (125)内に配置され、その結果、前記コネクタハウジング(122)の全 寸法は前記ラッチアーム(126)によって実質的に増加されないことを特徴 とする請求の範囲第1項記載のラッチシステム。 4.前記ラッチアーム(126)の前記カム面は、十分な抵抗を伴って前記 エンボス(50)の各肩部(51)と係合し、その結果、前記ラッチアーム( 126)が前記肩部(51)の周囲に撓んで前記エンボス(50)の背後にラ ッチし、前記コネクタ(120,20)の嵌合を迅速に成し遂げる抵抗を克服 するための増加された軸嵌合力が適用されるまで更なる嵌合がなされえないこ とを特徴とする請求の範囲第1項記載のラッチシステム。 5.嵌合が完了すると、前記ラッチアーム(126)は十分な抵抗を伴って前記 エンボス(50)の後方面(54)と係合し、その結果、前記ラッチアーム( 126)が前記エンボス(50)の周囲に迅速に撓んで前記コネクタ(120 ,20)が迅速に非嵌合となる抵抗を克服するための十分な引張り力が適用さ れるまで非嵌合がなされえず、これにより、前記コネクタが通電中であっても 前記コネクタ(120,20)の端子に対する損傷が最小化されることを特徴 とする請求の範囲第1項記載のラッチシステム。 6.前記エンボス(50)は、前記第2ハウジング(22)から外側に第2選定 距離だけ延び、嵌合面(46)を超えて自由端(53)に至る梁(52)を含 み、 前記コネクタ(120,20)が嵌合すると、前記梁(52)の前記自由端 (53)は前記第2ハウジング(22)の前記共通側(26)の表面部分に沿 って外側に延びて、嵌合の最終段階の際に互いにに対する前記コネクタ(12 0,20)の軸整合及び方向付けを安定させ、前記梁は、嵌合の当初段階の際 に、前記コネクタ(120,20)が軸方向に整列されるまで前記ラッチアー ム(126)の側方を自由に通過し、前記ラッチアームは(126)は、嵌合 の最終段階の際にラッチすることを特徴とする請求の範囲第6項記載のラッチ システム。 7.前記エンボス(50)は、略L字形であることを特徴とする請求の範囲第6 項記載のラッチシステム。
