ろう。Description: FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates generally to electrically actuated valves such as fuel injectors for injecting liquid fuel into an internal combustion engine, and in particular to improving the emissions of motor vehicles. A method of using a fuel injector. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In the movement of certain electrically actuated valves, such as certain fuel injectors having a needle, the needle is positioned within the valve body in response to the electrically energized and de-energized states of the electromechanical actuator. To reciprocate axially, thereby selectively opening and closing the flow path through the valve. Fuel injectors typically include a solenoid assembly that includes an electromagnetic coil that is actuated to cause the armature to move axially when energized. According to the state of the art, a number of patented inventions related to fuel injector solenoid structures have been disclosed. Typically, the solenoid valve has an armature movable between first and second positions that contact and separate the needle valve from the valve seat. The basic solenoid structure has a coil, a stationary ferromagnetic pole, and a moving ferromagnetic armature. The armature is held away from the poles by forces such as gravity, springs or pressure. Gasoline engine manufacturers specify the static and dynamic flow rates of fuel injectors in product specifications. According to this specification, a limit of ± 3.2% for static flow and ± 3% for dynamic flow is adopted. In the manufacturing process, fuel injectors are 100% tested for these properties and those that fall outside these limits are discarded. Those that are within the limits typically fall within a normal static distribution displayed as a histogram. When the injector is assembled to the engine, the performance of the injector may be biased on different end portions of the static distribution. This can result in fluctuations in vehicle emissions, even if overall within specification. This mixture of rich and lean injectors directly affects emissions. As government standards have become more stringent each year, manufacturers have continued to tighten the variability in static and dynamic flow rates. The state of the art achieved to date is in the range of ± 1.5 (11/2)% for a given population. Tighter tolerances require higher levels of scrap, internal absorbency, which themselves eventually occupy in production costs. It would be desirable to have a way to provide an automotive computer with accurate technical data associated with a given fuel injector. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION This need is solved by the holding and reading method according to the invention in which the results of technical tests on the injector are carried on the injector and downloaded to a motor vehicle computer. In essence, the present invention involves applying characteristic symbology on the fuel injector. The principles of the present invention are, of course, potentially applicable to fuel injectors of other types than those specifically shown and described herein, and can be achieved by various data retention and reading devices. In accordance with the present invention, a method for retaining and reading technical data associated with a solenoid-operated fuel injector includes testing the technical data associated with the fuel injector, and communicating the results of the technical data to the injector. Have. The injector is then scanned to inform the automotive computer of the injector's technical specifications. Deviation between injectors is adjustable to improve engine emissions. For a full understanding of the nature and objects of the present invention, reference should be had to the following description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a typical fuel injector having a bar code for storing technical data provided on an injector outer surface according to the present invention; FIG. 4 shows two examples of barcodes on the injector. Referring to the description the drawings of the preferred embodiments, like parts throughout the drawings are denoted by corresponding reference numerals. In FIG. 1, a typical fuel injector 10 designed to inject fuel into an internal combustion engine is shown in partial cross-section. The fuel injector 10 comprises, as its main components, a housing 12 of magnetically permeable material and a mold-coated housing 14; an inlet connector 16, also in the form of a tube of magnetically permeable material; a discharge end 18; An armature 24; a solenoid coil device 26 having a bobbin 28 and a conductor 30; electrical terminals 32 through which the fuel injector is connected to an electrical actuation circuit for selectively energizing the solenoid coil; and a valve assembly 34. . The armature 24 can move between first and second positions to contact and separate the needle valve or guide pin 36 from the valve seat 38 as the guide pin 36 moves within the guide 40. The relative arrangement of these various components is substantially the same as the fuel injector disclosed in commonly assigned U.S. Pat. No. 4,610,080. The injector is of a top-fed type, in which fuel is introduced through an inlet connector 16 and discharged as an injection from an axially opposite nozzle or tip 18. The differences are substantially related to the features of the invention disclosed herein. Marking products is an important part of the packaging and manufacturing process in many industries. The ubiquitous barcode is the most recognizable class of linear symbolic symbols. Referring now to FIGS. 2A and 2B, two embodiments of data storage according to the present invention, respectively, in the form of a linear barcode and a two-dimensional barcode are shown. The amount of data that the linear barcode symbol 42 can store, as shown in FIG. 2A, is limited to a few bytes. Further, there is often a shortage of sufficient area to print linear barcodes. In the process of overcoming these challenges, a two-dimensional (2D) symbolic symbol 44 has been developed as shown in FIG. 2B, which stores information along two axes, rather than just one axis. The present invention is directed to a method of storing results of injector technical tests, such as static flow, dynamic flow, leakage and open time for an injector. The data is preferably carried on the injector in the form of a symbol, such as a bar code. The bar code is preferably provided on the outer surface of the injector, as at location 46, and is engraved on the mold-coated housing 14 of the injector. The data is then downloaded to an existing vehicle computer system. The software of the computing device is then adjusted to improve emissions. Given an injector such as injector 10, it is tested in manufacture and provides technical data and specification information associated with that particular injector. A data marking device, such as a laser marking device, is used to communicate the results and specifications of the technical data onto the injector, preferably in a scannable form such as a bar code. The laser engraves the nylon-molded surface of the mold-coated housing and makes a series of marks, such as white lines, that can be read by a suitable scanner. The engine manufacturer can scan each injector during assembly and thereby report the technical details of each injector to the vehicle computer. The associated software then "tunes" or "offsets" the parameters provided to adapt the injector to special variations, thereby providing all injectors equivalent to the engine. Thus, the present invention provides a method for data retention and reading, and an "adjustment" or "offset" device that collapses the variability of multiple injectors into a single, centered injector flow. Things. The injector manufacturing method may include an injector laser marking station to match a number of numbers representing information. As will be apparent to those skilled in the art, the method is applicable to all fuel injectors. Although the invention has been described in detail and with reference to preferred embodiments thereof, various injectors may be used in other forms without departing from the scope of the invention, which is limited by the appended claims. And it will be apparent that other solenoid operated valves are applicable.
