Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a primer composition for an adhesive tape or an adhesive sheet capable of providing a high adhesion between a support and an adhesive mass layer even when a support having a low surface activity such as a polyolefin-based support is used as the support for the adhesive tape or adhesive sheet or the adhesive mass layer is formed from an aqueous tacky agent. SOLUTION: This primer composition for an adhesive tape or an adhesive sheet comprises 100 pts.wt. of a polymer binder and 0.4-70 pts.wt. of microparticles having <=100 μm average particle diameter of primary particles. For example, alumina, silica, zirconia or carbon black can be used as the microparticles. The above primer composition may be an aqueous dispersion in which at least the microparticles are dispersed in water. A adhesive mass layer is provided through a primer layer formed from the above primer composition on at least one surface of a support to thereby afford the adhesive tape or adhesive sheet having a high adhesion between the support and the adhesive mass layer.

2. Description of the Related Art Adhesive tapes and sheets are used for surface protection,
It is used in a wide range of fields from industrial use such as fixing parts and electric and electronic materials to general household use and medical use materials. Such an adhesive tape is basically obtained by applying an adhesive to a film-like base material such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PP (polypropylene), or PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Is very important in determining the quality of the adhesive tape or sheet. That is, if the anchoring property is weak, peeling occurs between the adhesive and the base material when the tape is rewound or when the tape is peeled off, which causes various troubles. Therefore, various surface treatments and primer treatments have been performed on the base material for the purpose of improving anchoring properties.

On the other hand, recently, from the viewpoint of protecting the global environment, polyolefin-based substrates such as PE (polyethylene) and PP have been widely used as substrates, and conventional organic solvent-based adhesives have been used as adhesives. From water to hot melt. However, such a low surface activity polyolefin-based substrate, the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet using an aqueous adhesive having a low affinity for the substrate, even if the substrate is subjected to conventional primer treatment, sufficient Anchor property cannot be obtained. Therefore, the emergence of a primer composition for a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet that is more effective in improving anchoring properties is desired.

In the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet of the present invention, a primer layer in which particles of a fine particle having an active surface are dispersed in a specific amount of a polymer binder is provided between the support and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. In addition, the adhesiveness between the support and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is good, and satisfactory adhesion to the adherend is exhibited. Further, in the conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and sheets, generally, it was necessary to select an appropriate primer according to the combination of the support and the pressure-sensitive adhesive, but according to the present invention, in a wide combination of the support and the pressure-sensitive adhesive Excellent adhesion (anchoring property) is obtained, and excellent in versatility. Further, the present invention also has an advantage that when the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet is peeled, the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape or sheet can be easily peeled without depending on the type of the adherend or the time of sticking.
