Description
DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to an energy recovery system, particularly suitable for being applied in devices for handling loads such as, for example, lifts, hoists and the like or also lifting devices such as cranes.
In devices such as lifts and hoists there is usually a cabin or a compartment intended for the transport of a load, a counterweight connected to the cabin or compartment by means of a cable that passes around a pulley, and a motor that is kinematically connected to the pulley to move it in rotation. In practice, to limit the consumption of energy by the motor, the latter is made to work in a condition in which the necessary work (not taking into account the various losses due to the transformations of motion, friction, etc.) does not correspond to the € ™ full weight of the cabin and its contents, but to the difference between the weight of the cabin and its counterweight. In the event that the weight of the cabin and its contents is greater than the value of the counterweight, the engine will consume more energy in the upward movement (of the cabin). With the same load conditions, in the corresponding descent stroke the work of the engine is substantially replaced by the weight force exerted by the cabin.
On the contrary, that is, when the weight of the cabin and its contents is less than the value of the counterweight, the engine will consume more energy in the lowering movement. With these load conditions, the work of the engine will be substantially replaced by the weight force exerted by the counterweight in the upstroke of the cabin.
The purpose of the present invention is to recover energy, in particular when the operating conditions of the engine are advantageous with respect to the energy demand: in practice, with reference to lifting devices such as lifts and hoists with counterweight, in the lift travels of the cabin when the value of the weight of the latter (including its load) is less than the value of the counterweight and in the descent travels of the cabin as the value of the weight of the latter (including its load) is greater than the value of the counterweight. Similarly, in the case of lifting devices without counterweight, energy is recovered thanks to the gravity acting on the load during the descent phases.
These and other results have been achieved in accordance with the invention by adopting the idea of realizing a system having the characteristics described in claim 1. Other characteristics are the subject of the dependent claims.
Among the advantages of the present invention there are those described below:

<—>la richiesta di una minore energia da parte del dispositivo elevatore determina dei vantaggi dal punto di vista dei consumi, del risparmio energetico generale, con conseguenze positive sull’ambiente; <â € ”> the request for less energy by the elevator device determines advantages from the point of view of consumption and general energy savings, with positive consequences on the environment;
<â € ”> its structure is sturdy and allows it to maintain its peculiar characteristics unaltered over time, even after extremely prolonged use.
These and further advantages and characteristics of the present invention will be better understood by every person skilled in the art from the following description and with the help of the attached drawings, given as a practical example of the invention, but not to be considered in a limiting sense, in which Figs. 1 and 2 are diagrams relating to possible examples of embodiment of a system in accordance with the invention, and Fig.3 represents a schematic cross-sectional view of a device in accordance with the present invention.
With reference to figures 1 and 2 of the attached drawings, an energy recovery system in accordance with the invention can be used in combination with an elevator device, schematically represented by an elevator in the drawings.
The lifting device comprises a cabin (2) intended for containing the load to be moved vertically.
The cabin (2) is connected, by means of a cable (3) which passes around a pulley (5), to a counterweight (4). In a per se known manner, the lifting of the cabin (2) corresponds to the lowering of the counterweight (4) and vice versa.
In its bi-directional vertical movement, the cabin (2) is guided along vertical tracks, not shown; similarly, other details not strictly related to the invention are not illustrated in the drawings and / or mentioned in the present description.
A motor (M) acts on the pulley (5) which makes the pulley shaft (5) rotate in one direction or the other according to the upward or downward movement of the cabin (2).
The motor (M) drives a relative shaft (6m), on which the rotor of a generator (G) is mounted, capable of transforming the rotary motion received through the shaft (6m) into electrical energy; at the output, the generator (G) is connected to an accumulator battery (B). In practice, the motor (M) and the generator (G) have the shaft (6m) in common. The generator (G) is activated or deactivated by automatically intervening on the relative excitation circuits (schematically indicated by the reference â € œEâ € in the figures of the attached drawings), as further described below, so that the generator (G) is activated only when it is necessary to store the energy deriving from the â € œpositiveâ € work due to the force of gravity. In practice, the generator (G) is activated only when the motor (M) is not absorbing energy.
An electronic or mechanical polarity inverter (IP) is provided, associated with the generator (G) to allow the batteries to be charged, regardless of the direction of rotation of the shaft (6g).
During the operation of the system described above, the following configurations can be assumed:
a. peso della cabina (2) (e del carico portato) inferiore al peso del contrappeso (4); to. weight of the cabin (2) (and of the load carried) lower than the weight of the counterweight (4);
b. peso della cabina (2) (e del carico portato) superiore al peso del contrappeso (4); b. weight of the cabin (2) (and of the load carried) higher than the weight of the counterweight (4);
c. peso della cabina (2) (e del carico portato) uguale al peso del contrappeso (4). c. weight of the cabin (2) (and of the load carried) equal to the weight of the counterweight (4).
In case a (car weight <<> counterweight), when the car is moved uphill, the motor (M) does not require energy since the upward thrust of the car (2) is determined by the force of gravity acting on the counterweight (4). In this case, the generator (G) is activated, allowing the transformation of the mechanical energy of the shaft into electrical energy, stored in the battery (B), to be used as desired. On the contrary, when the car is moved downwards (descent), the motor (M) must provide energy to overcome the weight force of the counterweight (4) which, as mentioned, has a higher value than the car (2). In this case, the generator (G) is deactivated.
In case b (weight of the car <>> weight of the counterweight), when the car is moved downwards, the motor (M) does not require energy since the descent of the car (2) is determined by the force of gravity acting on the same car (2) (which has greater weight than the counterweight (4)). In this case, the generator (G) is activated, allowing the transformation of the mechanical energy of the shaft into electrical energy, with storage in the battery (B). On the contrary, when the car is moved upwards (up), the motor (M) must supply energy to overcome the weight force of the car (2) and its contents. In this case, the generator (G) is deactivated.
In case c, the motor (M) has a very low energy demand to overcome the resistances offered by the various frictions. However, the aforementioned â € œpositive workâ € does not occur.
For example, to determine whether or not to activate the generator (G), it is possible to measure the intensity of the current absorbed by the motor (M) and compare it with a predetermined threshold value, determining the activation only if the current absorbed by the motor (M) is less than the preset threshold value. At the same time, the direction of rotation of the shaft (6m) can be detected or checked.
The advantages deriving from the use of â € œdedicatedâ € equipment are evident; in practice, the motor (M) is used to transform electrical energy into mechanical energy by turning the pulley shaft (5) and the generator (G) is used to transform the mechanical energy of the shaft rotation in electrical energy to be stored in the battery (BA). In this way, the engine function is performed by the engine (M) which does not also perform the function of generator and, therefore, the engine and the generator can be chosen each with the most suitable characteristics (also in terms of performance and efficiency) in relation to the function to be performed, so that the overall efficiency of the system is greater than that achieved in systems where the same motor is also used as a generator. In the case of lifting devices without counterweight, the activation of the generator is carried out only in the phases of descent of the load.
From the above description it is also clear that, thanks to the presence of the generator activation / deactivation device (G), the latter does not act as a brake. In other words, the generator (G) performs its function without negatively affecting the performance and efficiency of the engine (M).
With reference to the diagram in Fig.2, the references â € œFPâ € and â € œFCâ € indicate the ropes of the counterweight and respectively of the cabin, while the reference â € œFRâ € indicates an electromagnetic brake applied on the shaft of the machine and usable to brake loads when required.
The assembly consisting of the motor (M) and the generator (G) with the common shaft (6m) is contained in a box-like containment structure (SC) which simplifies the installation and maintenance of the system, containing both the drive unit (M) and the generator (G).
In the diagram of Fig. 3, with â € œSMâ € and â € œSGâ € the stator of the motor (M) and that of the generator (G) are indicated respectively, while the references â € œRMâ € and â € œRGâ € respectively distinguish the motor rotor (M) and generator rotor (G).
The details of execution may however vary in an equivalent manner in the shape, size, arrangement of the elements, nature of the materials used, without however departing from the scope of the idea of the solution adopted and therefore remaining within the limits of the protection granted by this patent.
